    I have 2 questions
    1. What is the standard differential pressure when the filter is clogged and when the filter is clean.
    2. Is the analog signal for dampers operating in percentage is 4 to 20 mA ?
    Please share information regarding this.
    Thank you.

    • @engineeringautomation
      @engineeringautomation  Před 3 lety +4

      Hi syed, thanks a lot for your feedback.
      1. Filter differential pressure depends on the mechanical selection of filter. However, 200-300 pascal can be set on DP switch for alarm in BMS to clean the filter.
      2. Dampers normally controlled via 0-10v dc which is available in all the DDC panels.

    It wouldn’t be called “cooling coil temp” it would be your freeze stat or if not a freeze-stat you could install a averaging temp sensor which would fall before your heating coil or between your heating coil and cooling coil.

    • @engineeringautomation
      @engineeringautomation  Před 2 lety

      Hi Erik, It depends on the application of use. If you want to measure the efficiency of the cooling coil then you would need a temperature sensor after and before the coil.

    • @engineeringautomation
      @engineeringautomation  Před 3 lety

      Hi Cruz.. thanks a lot for the feedback. Thr valves are provided with actuators which drives the valves. There are 2 types of signals for the valve actuators which are normally used.. 1) on/off type 2) modulating type. On/Off type actuators work on digital signals and modulating type actuators work on analog signals. Hope this helps.. let me know if you need any other informations. Thank you. Please check the wiring as per the datasheet. Also check if 24v power supply is available to the actuator. Check the dip switch setting. Also give 25% open command from BMS and verify the voltage on the control voltage from DDC. Verify voltage for 25, 50, 75 & 100 percent opening. Finally remove the actuator from valve stem and check if its working then the issue will be on the valve stem. Hope this is helpful. Thanks

    Are the AHU and VAVs working together in conjunction based on the BAS sequencing?

    • @engineeringautomation
      @engineeringautomation  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Thomas, Yes. If the AHU is serving to room with VAV’s then both should work together on order to maintain proper static pressure in the AHU main duct. A duct static pressure should be installed in the 2/3rd or 3/4th of the straight duct to ramp down the AHU FAN VFD when the VAV closes downstream. This will ensure proper air flow is being supplied to the space as per design requirements. Also it will protect the duct from over pressurised leading to accidents. Hope this helps👍

  • @automation4020
    @automation4020 Před 3 lety

    Hi, Could you please also include information on which sensor should be set to which value. Like DPS across Filter should have what value set or across blower motor what should be the value range and also how to select range for blower motor, filter, etc.

    • @engineeringautomation
      @engineeringautomation  Před 3 lety +3

      Hi, regarding the DPS pressure setting,
      For Fan run status monitoring the DP value can be of lower setting as it is only detecting the proof of air flow. So generally 50-300pa DP switch is enough for that.
      For filters, pre filter and bag filter will have different pressure drop ranges which can be found from the data sheet. Accordingly you can select the DP switches.
      Since the pascal values can be changed anytime on the DP switches, if you do not have the values from the filter, its better to go for 0-1000pa DP switches. The price difference is very minimal.

    • @engineeringautomation
      @engineeringautomation  Před 3 lety +4

      Hi Basavraj, Thanks a lot for your feedback.
      There are 2 types of ON/OFF points.
      1. ON/OFF command from BMS: For this there will be relay Output(DO) from the DDC panel to the Electrical panel. 24v AC/DC signal will have to come from electrical panel and when the ON/OFF command gets activated by BMS, the relay will close and the signal will go to the Electrical panel to start the fan.
      2. ON/OFF Status to BMS: for this 24v DC/AC signal will go from DDC panel to the Electrical Control panel and there will be relay Contact in the electrical panel which will be closed in case of fan run/trip status and the signal will go back to DDC panel and get detected as DI Signal.
      Hope this helps. Please subscribe and keep supporting our channel.

    How to workin DP switch

    • @engineeringautomation
      @engineeringautomation  Před 3 lety

      Hi Nithin, the air DP switches have a spring loaded diaphragm. Based on the differential pressure setting on the front, the diaphragm gets activated and the contact inside the DP switch activates which closes the contact signal (24v dc) from the DDC panel thus giving input signal to BMS. Once the contact closes the BMS detects the switch as active. You can check the contact continuity with a multimeter by blowing through one of the probes of the DP switch. Hope this helps.
