Who else is convinced that Brad looks like THE REAL LIVING KEN ?👋👋😅
I was thinking the SAME
THIS
Yes!!
YESSS
Facts
Not following Brad’s rules and still getting good results is the equivalent of doing a math equation wrong but still getting the right answer in math class 😂
looool
oh my god YES
Happened to me 1 time of two tries xD, the other one I did exactly like Brad told us to do, and it came out perfect ❤
Half the time it's pure dumb luck and the other time it's them going to a salon and getting it fixed but trying to play it off like they did it
very adhd if you ask me :'D
the second girl in the pink was driving me INSANE. what did she expect trying that hard to be cute instead of paying attention?
I thought the same thing😅
And she said it didn't look that bad and I am like "girl, your ends are fucking fried!!!"
Attention seeker much . I hate girls like that . Annoying
Her roots underneath the cap😭😭😭😭……
YES I hated the weird overacting like gurl….you’re not entertaining 🤣
The energy of the girl with the pink shirt was like she was performing a scripted kid's video and had a wig on or something.
My ex mother in law was the CHAMPION cap highlighter! She did her own and it always came out perfect! Her hair always looked professionally done!
If you’re going to do cap highlights, I recommend rinsing the bleach out while the cap is still on and then fully saturating it with conditioner after rinsing and take it off while the conditioner is still in… that way there’s a lot less tension and less risk of breakage when taking it off.
How is this not obvious? Bleach is like nearly dry concrete.
Yes! I used to get my hair foiled religiously until covid and then started doing my hair with a cap and a few foils in the front at home. I use a rubber cap that's reusable and I always rinse after bleaching with the cap on. Then shampoo and tone and condition. It slides off perfectly fine with no tension. I think the rubber cap does much much better than those plastic caps that come in the box kits too.
This should be common sense when doing your own hair lol
Yeah thats whats the instructions say though… but the best advice is. Don’t use them full stop 😂 I told my mum not to and she got my brother one and he looks like a leopard 😂😂😂 i was a kid too back then and my gut instinct knew they were gonna be bad.
Agree!!! I was yelling at these girls to use some conditioner!!
The look brad gave the girl in the pink when she said 'I don't know what went wrong!' Was so on point
Commenting for the update 10:09 : my hair is shockingly doing somewhat better, ends are still stringy but no bald spots thankfully 😭 like 4 months after that video I started working at a hair salon so shoutout my coworkers for helping fix it
This is the update I needed.
Glad things are good for you now..💛💛
I was combing the comments hoping you’d replied! I’m glad you’re doing ok and your coworkers helped you fix it. Thank you for the update!
that’s sick! glad your hair is doing better. and you don’t have to worry about your reaction, I was making the same face just thinking about trying to get that thing off😂
I’m so happy you’re okay!❤️ girl you scared me!
Can you imagine a show where Brad surprises people who’s videos he’s watched to help them fix their hair 👀
I’d watch that so hard
Omg petition to make this a thing 🙋♀️
Same! I love this idea
I need this in my life now
"id watch that so hard" ((giggle))!!
From 4th grade to like mid high school my mom was the QUEEEEEN of doing highlights with that stupid cap. It was so painful having her poking at my head but she literally slayed every time.
❤️
My step dads sister always did my highlights that way too and it came out great every time
My stylist used to do them in the 90s. But it was always low-lights, or reds in my level 9ish hair back then. - Gradually moved to foils in the 2000's new colors every 6 weeks meant it always had variety and looked like natural variations.
Does nobody read the directions? You're supposed to rinse it, check the color, add Lightner if needed. Rinsr again, condition...THEN take the cap off. Never take it off with Lightner still on. Duh!!
Much respect to women. The amount of work and pain they put into their looks is terrifying. Much love all
I have had both amazing and atrocious results when using a cap to highlight. Usually it comes down to good results if I am patient enough to part my hair correctly before applying the cap, and being meticulous while pulling the strands through the cap. When I rushed it I had bleach spots, uneven streaks, and horrid results.
Ive done some of the best hair ive ever had with a cap as well. If anyone reads this, dont take the bleach all the way to the root, keep it concentrated on the mids and lengths so that it will blend easier with the roots making it look like a balayage
My mom did cap highlights (known back in the day as "frosting") to her hair all during my childhood and somehow SLAYED it. Never got cheetah spots and it _always_ looked good.
Watching Brad’s anxiety go from 0-100 real quick watching the last girl; priceless 😂
Some of these people absolutely got their disasters corrected at a salon before showing off the final look
I honestly don’t think I could watch hair fail videos without listening to what Brad has to say. We love an opinion. ☕️
years ago my grandma suggested i should go blonde (after my black/blue phase), so i agreed. At that point, i had virgin-ish hair. My hairdresser who didnt seem to want to do anything but cut hair told my mom and I do bleach my hair using a cap then tone it after. It actually turned out really blonde and consistent. My mom did a great job. But if there's one thing we made sure of, it was to wash the bleach out, then when applying conditioner, that's when you remove the cap...
I remember watching my mom do cap highlights in the bathroom. Literally the smell of hair dye or bleach is nostalgic. ❤️
I also cannot smell anymore because of my childhood lol
LOLLL the way this comment ended
😂😅😭
you just dredged up the smell of my mom’s black box dye fumigating the bathroom from the depths of my memory🫨
Ive never seen Brad so stressed and surprised during a video before!!! I loved his reactions!!! I was on the edge of my seat!!! 🤣
Getting some real Ken Doll vibes from Brad today and I'm living for it.
Honestly, I think that brad should choose one of the worst results and try to help them, this videos bring so much learning that I think it would be a good way to give back and I for sure will love to see how he can help and fix such a disasters... My humble opinion
some of these videos might be months old though, they might not look like that anymore. And they could be anywhere in the world! I could not afford to fly ti NYC from Norway to fix my hair 😅
It could be a cool idea though; maybe have people submit themselves bc they have messed up hair and can travel to Brad. I’d totally watch!
This could be a good idea but people would probably ruin their hair just to have an opportunity to meet him (just as some ruin their hair just to appear on his videos)
Would make a good tv series.
That poor girls bald spots are gonna be brighter than the sun💀💀💀
Sunburn..
Oh god
I mean they’re just blonde spots but I guess I get your point
@@1CamSandwichPlzthat’s what I was thinking. I was watching it back like ummm did I miss something? I never saw any bald spots!
@@pamelamorrisonn😊
My mother in law gets cap hightlighs done every 6 weeks and it always somehow looks great. The hairdresser does home visits which is awesome but yeah he's been doing her hair for decades now and has really good technique for sure.
I feel like it works so well for her specifically because her hair is fairly thin and fine, it's also already pretty light blonde so it blends well.
Brad's reactions are so entertaining. He is precious. 😁❤️❤️❤️
Brad, your hair is flawless!! I'm obsessed with the color. It looks so good with your coloration
👌👏
Tysm!
I have used a cap many times. I brush my hair first how I usually wear it and the part. I go every other circled hole, not all of them. I use a professional hook that has a small hook for highlights and brush for highlighting. Once time has processed, I wash the hair with the cap on first, and the cap will slide off with no pulling. I then re-wash and condition after. I like it at home DIY because it is hard to time with foils on yourself.
My cosmetology literally ONLY taught us how to do cap highlights because it’s in the curriculum lol she explicitly told us, don’t do this 🥴 EVER 😂😂😂
Brad should make a line of bleach/lighteners for safely at home use as part of XMondo products. Millions of people watch him and he can make a line of lightning products and toners. It can be a major success!
I would RUN to the US (or fly because overseas😂) and buy it!!!
@@lindascheidegger8725 😂😂😂
But it really wouldn’t matter because people would STILL use it wrong. There’s no “fool proof bleach” that anyone can create. He should just write a bleaching book if anything lol
There is no safe way to bleach your hair at home if you refuse to follow directions
These people just acting stupid for social media is so annoying. That girl in pink just about did me in.
Brad! It's so fun watching your videos.... the way you react is just so 😂😂😂 in a nice way ofcourse! The best part is that you give so much sense to what is going on and your inputs are so valuable!
This is giving me flashbacks. I did the cap highlight thing when it was originally popular at a salon, and ended up with way too thick highlights at the front. Even in the age of everyone doing this, OMG did this look bad. You’re right Brad, it’s way too unpredictable!
Luckily I was able to get a colour correction to blend it out, but NEVER AGAIN
My husband just asked me today if I can do cap highlights for him. Now I’m I little scared and blessed at the same time 😂🫠
Lol make sure to record it😂😂
@@Bribreezzzyy I will record how I shave his head when it goes wrong 😂😂
I confess that I did this to myself 40 years ago when I was in college. These home cap highlights kits were all the rage and advertised everywhere-magazines, TV, even billboards. My hair(fortunately) was shorter than it is now because I had serious leopard spots all over my head. I did it in the early summer, so by late September, I’d been able to get enough hair trims to be rid of most of it. Whenever I see a highlighting cap, I cringe at the memory.
Brad's facial expressions are the best part of these videos. LOL!
Yes Brad, your hair looks stellar. I think this look has actually been my favourite thus far. That's like the perfect blonde on you & the cut/styling is seamless, it all goes together so well. Great job
Happy Sunday, Brad...and everyone else!!!
I had cap highlights when I was 17...I got lucky. They actually looked good. Lol.
You CAN get good results with cap highlights but you have to put the color on the roots/dark hair using a brush and being careful (as Brad says) not to push any lightener through the holes into the hair. Also keep the hair smooth and brushed so it doesn't tangle, then it works well.
I never liked that kind of highlights, how can you even take the same strands of hair the next time? I never used a cap, I prefer foils all the way.
And the way those spots will follow you forever... like yes you can root smudge, but the porosity will never be the same. It'll keep shedding the color in those spots 😭
My favorite thing to do: watch new Brad mondo videos while eating a snack
The stick spatula and random plastic bowl come with the bleach lol at least they did when I was in high school in the 90's.
All Brad had to say is that you shouldn’t take the caps off unless you’re rinsing it. Slides out so easily when the hair is wet
It literally tells you that in the instructions!!!
You know that one thing that you find later in life, and it's something you've always needed but never knew you did?? Yeah Brad, thats you. 🥺 Beyond a vibe. ✨️🖤
I'm pretty sure that a few of those "after" results were after seeing a professional. The one that did money pieces didn't match up with her final look.
I did cap highlights once using a box of Revlon Frost and Glow on my friend and they came out gorgeous! Just the first time though when we attempted it a 2nd time I don't know what happened but we ended up having to bleach her entire head because it was so uneven and splotchy....not my preferred method of highlighting it's a pain in the neck trying to pull the hair through the little holes especially if you have fine/tangly hair.....
The boys that did this actually did an AMAZING job
We do cap highlights/streaks in our salon, big big rules apply…1- they’re only good on short hair,2- make sure the hair is combed into the style the client always wears it, 3- use a proper hairdressers streaking cap and most importantly USE CLING WRAP UNDER YOUR CAP!!!! This will stop those leopard print spots because the hair that’s not pulled through the cap is protected from any bleach seeping through misses holes. (When you start your career at the height of streaking, 23 years ago, you learn to be a pro at it). Comb your hair through before putting lightener on and rinse the bleach out, apply conditioner THEN pull the cap off. Way way better for protecting your hair.
I needed this tonight thank you Beautiful Brad for uploading I’m so great full to your channel and all that you do ❤
I used to help cap my mom all the time when I was teen. She'd pull the pieces by her face and I'd do the top and back of her head. We always pulled it off to wash before toning though. It usually turned out decent. I do remember one year when I was kid and grandma was helping her, she didn't have toner on hand. For whatever reason it turned out pinkish the night before Easter Sunday service. "Well, I guess I look like an egg this Easter" 🤣🥚
Honestly, people have so much information these days and some people seems like to choose doing things on the wrong way.
They just do it for social media. It’s so annoying.
The girl at the end should put a deep plum red on her hair omgggg she’d slay so hard and still get the special look she’s looking for, it would take to the uneven parts in a more intentional way I think 👌🏻
Cap highlights and wine are one of my family’s favorite stories from the early 80’s that we still joke about today 😂💜
I knew the 2nd one was gonna get bleeding when she piled it on top. There's holes there. Smh 😂i messed up one time after years of doing cap highlights had to go get it done professionally and have ever since. Although everytime it went right was when my hair was one color and didn't have existing highlights.
So highlight caps are like Schrodinger's Bleach Kit...
Until you remove the cap, you don't know it it's gonna slay, or be D.O.A. (≧▽≦)(≧▽≦)(≧▽≦)
Omg Brads face when he said 'how is she so happy' 😂 literally read my mind!
Brad, you are SO entertaining and educational all at the same time! 😂👍
I love your channel! 💖
My old hairdresser used to lighten my hair with a cap and she always washed it out before taking the cap off
My hair was like looking at the sun but I loved it 😆
The guy getting the frosted tips looks like he did a 24 hour challenge where he couldn’t say no to whatever someone told him to do. But it actually turned out pretty well.
Wow the stylist who corrected the complete DISASTER another salon did with the cap highlight is a true artist! It came out so good 👏👏!!
Just a quick cap highlight protip.. 😅
When you go to take off the cap, do it in the shower. Wash out the bleach as much as you can first on the highlighted strands, then add some conditioner to them as much as you can near the cap especially. Then you can pull the cap off, the conditioner will make it glide right off the strands. A lot of folks don't cover the caps but they should just like they would an all over bleaching, the bleach ends up tacky and dried out by the time it's time to rinse, then they try to remove the cap like that and have to tug to get it off. Doing it in the shower with conditioner prevents that. Then once the cap is off you wash, rinse, and condition again to make sure you have all the bleach out.
When I wanted black hair with blue stripes, I had a hairdresser using a cap like that. I remember it hurting when she pulled the pieces out. It felt like she was quite aggressive. It did end up looking good though even though I had to go back a week later to have a redo of the blue since it was washed out so fast. The second time it stuck longer. I don't use that hairdresser anymore. My new one is against the cap.
Hi brad! Love the outfit! ❤
I'm drooling over this hair colour on you Brad it looks stunning with your skin and your eyes you look even hotter than usual 😍😍😍
My girls are loving your mousse products. I can't wait to try it myself.
Never done cap highlights at home for this reason. Lol.
One thing about us at home hair girls is we gonna make it look good to the naked eye 💀😂
Hi Brad, love watching your videos and seeing some fails❤❤❤❤❤
The look on brads face was so funny i woke up my boyfriend from laughing so hard 😂❤😅
I once sat down at a salon for a full highlight and they put the cap on my head and started pulling hairs through without saying anything… I didn’t know what to do and the girl didn’t understand English so I apologized, got up, ripped the cap off my head and ran😅
😂😅
Hey Mr. Mondo. I love your videos, and I'm wanting to be a hairstylist when I'm 16. Rn I'm 14, abt to be 15 lol. I know a lot abt hair already, and yea. I just wanted to say hi, and you got any tips for me for cosmetology school? 😂❤❤
Please let me know❤🙏🙏
This video made my day ☀️ thanks Brad
I love your videos. I am retired and my husband is disabled. One of these days I would love to try your purple shampoo. I stopped coloring my hair about 15 years ago and I embrace the silver. Keep doing what you do, you are a bright spot in my day.
I am convinced people purposefully screw up their hair and film it for Tiktok views. Like that second girl lmao
brad would've made a much better ken than ryan gosling
Former "shampoo girl" here from back in the day that washed highlighting caps out.... you have to saturate the hair with water and lather a lot with shampoo and then pull the cap out when the hair is soapy and it slides off. Then you proceed to wash the entire head.
back in the day its all we had ! I never did it myself but it worked ! until like anything else better techniques came along and so did YOU BRAD! Omg who grinned so much when brad did his lil dance move ! Come on MORE ! MORE MORE ! cheers !
I remember when I was 15 and I did the half blonde half black at the bottom and it looked crazy , it wasn't blended at all and I remember going to school for 3 years. And I had curly hair oon top of that , so. The blonde just made my hair more fluffy and crazy 😂
the one time i had it done by a professional it was so painful, lasted two hours and you could barely see the result afterwards. i can't look at the cap now without physically cringing
foils are far better results wise imo
For some reason, whenever anyone does something wrong, i freak out while watching, and its the same as Brad. We freak out the same 😂
Also i see Brad Reacting and replying to peoples comments and it makes me so happy that he actually cares about his fans. I LOVE YOU BRAD ❤️
A trainee put about 6 different blondes through my hair as highlights.. I looked ridiculous. I’m not one to care about my hair but I was crying. I’d lost my hair from treatment, finally grew it to shoulder length, strand test was fine. Then this guy completely ruined it, no way to save it at all but to go dark. I had it done just before travelling to meet my boyfriends at the time family, no way to fix it.. I was so embarrassed.
The holes are not poked for you. You have to take the pointy hook and break through 2 layers of plastic. You have to push pretty hard. So unless being stabbed in the scalp 100 times is your idea of fun, stay away from cap highlights.
Lmao yeah but you don’t have to stab your head to make the hole, i used to have my hair done like this for YEARS and no one ever stabbed me hhaha.
Brad mondo literally can be the perfect ken for barbie
Anyone else watch these just before they do it? Caps on... wish me luck! Thanks Brad for all the entertainment:-)
But the holes she hasn't pulled out, the holes are going to fill up with bleach and be spotty. Edit: I was correct 😂
I’ve never had a problem with cap highlights. Literally never! I mean it used to be the only way before foils came along yet Brad always acts so surprised like he’s never heard of this before🤦🏻♀️ I’ve had it done & I’ve done them on my daughter hundreds of times. It’s just not that hard people & personally I think it looks more natural than foils. The reason some of these people couldn’t get the caps off was because they still had the bleach on their hair. You have to wash the bleach off then take the cap off & it just slides right off.
THE ONE, THE ONLY, MY KING, BRAD MONDO 👑💕
My mom used to get cap highlights when I was growing up, and her hair always slayed
I love watching your reactions Brad you are so funny , inspirational and gorgeous ❤ love ya xxxxxx
2:07 that switch-up had me ROLLING 😭
I was taught in school many years ago… when tipping/frosting/hi-lifting to apply shampoo before removing cap. I never had breakage 💓💖💓
Brad!! You are glowing 😍 you look great!!
my hairdresser uses the cap for when i want highlights in my ends and it turns out amazing every single time. 🥰
BRAAADDDD loving this look🤩
One thing about most highlighting caps these days, they areas will be marked so you can choose the "look" you're going for (face framing, partial, full, etc) BUT if you don't part your hair right and when you dig that hook, if you aren't grabbing the hair DIRECTLY beneath that hole, that's when you'll have issues in placement and cheetah spotting
for some reason this was the funniest thing to me at 4 in the morning hahahah you are so funny Brad.
brad your style is immaculate 🤌
You are in a mood! I can relate. As a previous hairdresser, caps are a NO. No. No‼️‼️‼️‼️
I used to get cap highlights at a salon and my stylist always did a great job. She also made sure to get some of the frontface framing pieces too
I have watched so many of these videos that I react before Brad. 😂
I can’t stop binge watching your videos and I don’t know why
