Actually, the suit isn’t made out of rubber. Because of the lack of resources, the suit was made of mostly of concrete, and the suit actor stated how hot it was to film everything.

@@MrShock-bz7xl its concrete. Remember. This is at the end of a war. There was not much rubber. The closest thing they had to rubber was the rubber bottom half but the entire suit is concrete. They used some rubber for leg shots. The concrete suit can move because of the joints. It's like an action figure. It's really tough but the joints allow for articulation.

Zilla gets more hate than he deserves. In fact, Zilla and 2014 is what first got me into Godzilla. It's a great monster movie, cool design, but not a good Godzilla movie

Zilla was the 1998 Godzilla, it's just Toho bought the rights to the 98 version and renamed it Zilla because it wasn't worth of the name Godzilla. It's the reason why Zilla made a brief appearance in Godzilla: Final Wars before being killed off, because was Toho was showing their distain for the 98 film.

Fun fact: Shin Godzilla was made by Hideaki Anno, the man behind Evangelion. (and was also the reason why the fourth film was delayed). Also, its pretty neat that you're going to review the Transformers X Playstation Optimus Prime.

I completely agree with your assessment. S.H. Monsterarts G54 is an overall better figure. The paintjob, the poseability, the joints, it's really great!
All I love in these jobbythehong reviews are just the “hey my name is jobby” at the beginning. It reminds me on how he is one of my favorite youtubers
If I'm not mistaken, the 1954 godzilla suit is not made of rubber, because resources in post war japan is scarce.
Therefore, they used ready mixed concrete, and the weight of the suit weighs 100kgs, and the temp inside can reach at 60 degrees celcius.
Fun fact:
The original Godzilla suit was made of concrete (because Japan was running low on resources at the time) and the suit weighed about 100 kilos.
I'm not a Godzilla fan, I've not seen any of the movies, but I just watched all of your Godzilla reviews and I LOVE these figures! It makes me want to watch some of the better Godzilla films

Shin Godzilla is a great movie, some people even say it is on the same level as the original.
Do note, there are two different cuts for the movie, the original Japanese version that makes fun of the bureaucracy and need for commodities in the Japanese government, while a radioactive death god walks the street, and the original American theatrical cut that removes most of the satire on the Japanese government because they didn't think the gaijin would get it. For the most part, they were probably right.
This is my favorite S.H. Monsterarts figure by FAR, along with 1964. but this figure is a fucking MASTERPIECE. along with the movie he came from.

Fun fact:the suit wasn't rubber since rubber was a rare and expensive material during the end of WW2 so instead they used mix-cement to the suit which was 100 llbs
I keep telling myself I don't need Monsterarts figures in my collection, yet I watch another Jobby review of one, and Who Will Know plays as I shed a tear, knowing I missed out on their original runs, and have to deal with the cutthroat aftermarket scalpers.
Jobby technically has watched every Godzilla movie since every movie he's watched (according to this vid) is titled 'Godzilla'
I wish the NECA version of the 1954 Godzilla figure had also been given the same articulation that was given to the SH Monsterarts version.
I've been thinking about starting a small collection of SH monsterarts Godzilla figures based on his appearances from the 1954 film, the 1989 Godzilla vs. Biollante film, 1994 Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla film, the 2014 film and the 2019 King of the Monsters film just like I did with the NECA figures for comparison.
I recommend Godzilla vs Destroyah and Godzilla: Final Wars. Some of the best Godzilla movies ever!
Godzilla VS. Destoroyah is DEFINITELY one I wanna see.

Jobs, you should watch more of the films. Especially the Heisei Series. It’s a really good series of films, and probably has the best continuity and tone.
If you want a smoky, Showa-esque breath effect you can always get the '64 Awakening Version Godzilla.
After seeing a billion of the Godzilla movies the original is still my favorite by a long shot, with Shin Godzilla being a close second.
Shin captures the spirit of the original with a gross twist.
That's why it's so great.
I love this figure! It's the only one of my collection that it doesn't fall apart. Beautiful!

Wait, why wouldn't people consider Godzilla 2014 a Godzilla film, it has Godzilla in it, and he doesn't look like a Giant Iguana/T-Rex, has the Atomic Breath, and his backstory is the original backstory.
Also, the SH Monsterarts Shin Gojira is terrible, and I'd hate to see you in pain, so please try to avoid it as much as possible.
