Traxxas has recently announced the TRX-4 Sport found here: bit.ly/48Qgd1o a low cost version of their popular TRX-4 Scale & Trail RC Crawler, however, just because the cost is lower doesn’t mean performance has suffered. In fact, performance on the new TRX4 sport has improved! This is actually a truck littered with the features that experienced scale truck builders wanted out of the TRX-4 platform. Simplicity, performance, adjustability and the option to deck it out with accessories however the driver sees fit. We were lucky enough to get one of the very first TRX-4 Sport production models and we spent gobs of time working on this video review to give you all the information you need to know about this exciting new Traxxas TRX-4 Sport 1/10 electric scale RC 4x4 off-road truck.

Sir you have my respect and i can understand that you have make a lot of work, i am a person that i understand when someone work hard to make something good. 2mtech It's the little things; spend 40 seconds talking about the transmitter, which is well-known, and two seconds about a bind feature, that obviates the need to crack the waterproof reciever box.
I've had mine for a year now, and I love it. I'm a real diehard Traxxas guy, the Rustler 4X4 VXL, MAXX, E-Revo 2.0, and the XMAXX, but I just bought the Red Axial Gladiator. I'll unbox it tomorrow and try it out. It was between the TRX6, and the Axial Gladiator. After seeing it run on RCCambo, it one my heart.
They basically improved the truck with user's suggestions. Good job
Thumbs up! I'm 70 and own a sandrail. My Son's 47 and has a ?? rock crawler. I thought I would get him the new Bandit 70 with all the bells and whistles for his birthday. He called me and said Dad I love ya and thanks so much but. I would rather have something I'm really into with your grandson. I bought it from Traxxas and they were cool with the return. My son and I talked about the crawler stuff and this might be something we both would enjoy. Nice price point and looks like fun. He said a 12 turn motor with 3s Lipo will do wheelie's so I'm in on that. Looks like a win to me. You do a great vid and loved the music. I'm likin and subin my friend.

I just got mine today my first one too and I got it over the axial deadbolt because it has better suspension and overall is better straight out of the box, I know the deadbolt has tons of upgrades but this is a traxxas it's only a matter of time before they have upgrades for every part on this thing.

Thanks Greg for a great review. I think this is getting close to what people want to see just wish they kept the inner fenders like the Bronco series and the front mounted battery tray. Next up is a kit offering at that $299 range minus the electronics and body and maybe some hop-up parts.

Great video and very informative; liked this machine from the first day I saw it was coming out. Don't mind that it has a generic body; that's not a deal breaker. Kind of out of my price range right now but I'm determined to get one and use it to it's potential.
Great video, Been into Rc for over 20 years but Im new to crawlers. Would you say the TRX4 Sport is more of a better bang for your buck compared to the Axial SCX10 2017 red Jeep? I like them both just torn between them.

This is a great canvas for someone like myself who is planning on taking this rig and 3dprinting the heck out of it with 3d parts I have designed.I already have the designs and the parts to go on TRX4's so now I'll just get this rig. Time to make more room lol....just another leaner trx4 to mod up 8-)
I just got one of these today, it was a tough choice between this or the axial deadbolt or the tekno 4x4 SCT kit and I went with the trx4 sport, I will definitely be getting the tekno kit next the parts are so beefy and strong on the tekno.
I want this truck sooooooo bad but I’m running short with the $$$ any ideas?

So torn between this and the Bronco.... yes, I just want that '79 Bronco body! More stuff to go wrong with the Bronco though w/ the two servos for the diffs. It will be my first crawler.
You can get any body you want for one of these

This or a Redcat Gen 8 for my son's first crawler?
Update: Got a Gen 8 Axe first, then a TRX4 Bronco, another Gen 8, a TRX6, and now I'm buying a Sport for myself.
The Sport seems to be the best bang for the buck out there. Especially if you want to bash it or get serious about crawling. Have an 1,800kv Axe system and some metal wheels waiting for it.
I'm sure it will outcrawl everything else I have and not break as often as the Redcats when the kids drive it.
I bought a servo and installed nit before I even turned mine on just because I already knew the strength of the 2075 servo since the plastic version came on my slash 2wd
Greg if you had to buy one the Gen 8 or the TRX 4 sport which one would you prefer 4 durability and less maintenance

They should have done a Toyota Tacoma body
Unlicensed bodies keep the cost down ,and RC4wd recently came out with a 12.3 Tacoma body should fit this.

Not again, the Honcho was basically a Tacoma, RC4WD and I think proline has Tacoma bodies too
I have the trx4 defender with sound simulator. I've suffered a lot with my servo and the esc, specially if you use 11.2 V batteries. I've changed the servo (to Futaba) and all Ok. The Defender is very very powerful, it has strength,speed.I love it even with all the original technical problems (servo specially)... The question is : what loses the Sport without the pieces take out ( with respect to TRX standard or classic). In a test :sport vs classic TRX4 climbing a 35 grades slope who would be the winner? . IN a rock route who would be the winner?. Has the servo in the Sport more quality, is less weak? Thanks a lot

Another top video! I wasn’t sold on the previous model with all the bells and whistles but after seeing this, I’m seriously considering getting one of these. The only thing you didn’t cover is the steering angle, does it have as much as an scx10 2?

Funny story about that. On the way to the trails, I remembered I needed tape to plug the holes in the rims. I stopped at the dollar store and grabbed some tape. I got to the trail head, made my way into the woods to the rocks and realized I left the tape in the car. So I ran the open rims in water. Back home I used a leather punch to make a hole in the tire and I've been squeezing the water out ever since. lol

I got traxxas stampede and my father doesn’t seem to want to take it to a rc mechanic to get it fixed, there’s something wrong with the drive, if you know what I should do please tell me I read the manual and when I contact customer support they don’t seem to know what to do
if you can't fix your truck yourself, you shouldn't even have one.
