In this video , I show you how to properly clean and rebuild a motorcycle carburetor. Thorough cleaning, adjustments, repair and proper care in assembly of components is very important for a good running custom motorcycle, café racer, brat or bobber where you want maximum reliability and performance ! Same tips and principles can be applied to your old car carb servicing.

"Be careful when you remove the lid, there are a lot of springs under there" I laughed so hard I cried. Fantastic vids.
+gorp27 one could poke out an eye if you're not careful !
Theese tools. jesus crist
That's how I'd like my instructional videos every time; Good angles, good lighting, good sound, no unnecessary bollocks, everything on point. Thank you and keep it up!
:D why thank you sir !
Right on!, excellent tutorial
i like how sketchy his tools are love it hahahhaa
@@paulhearns7820 yes lmao
I liked the way he described all the processes, but as soon as I seen that bulls**t pieced together wobbly screwdriver, I was done! It's hard for me to take someone serious about fixing things when he can't at least have straight tools! Does he not believe in torque specs? Cuz those little channel locks he used, instead of a wrench that fit, makes me believe he just gets it "Good Enough" right lol. Other than his junk tools tho, I like it!
The tool is only as good as the man wielding it
@@kparsons22208 his tools are custom you dilsaucenoodle!
I'm pretty sure he had duct tape over his screw driver so he wasn't marring the finish on the carb. That's what I thought anyways.
I love how some people actually think you're being serious with the tools hahahaha great video 10/10
That polishing tool is badass.
Doing some research before tackling my first carb.... I think I'll watch this one for the entertainment value and then learn on a different video :D
It just kept getting progresivly worse. I lost it at "diamond paper" and "diaphram tape"
love all the springs not sure if I just wasted 7 minutes or witnessed genius mind blown
+david smith I always count the springs... make sure the same amount goes in as came out
+Chris C it's a workbench.. there are all kinds of extra bits and parts laying around
+david smith definte both and i still hate him for it!
Those springs. In the game of CZcams sir, you win.
How nice of a boat did your local snap on guy buy with those sweet tools you have?
This is the funniest stuff I've seen in quite some time on YT.
The jet needle has a bur so I'll use the coarsest paper I can find!
delicate precision !
Yeah exactly some rough ass sandpaper. People don’t realize that this guy is actually being funny. Much of the stuff that he’s actually showing you is different to what he’s saying. Carburetor diaphragm tape!🙈. You’re a chump if you fall for that.
"There's a bunch under there and you don't want to lose any of them"
LOLOLOL !!!! You are the best. The delivery is absolutely priceless !! LMAO
Thank you sir.
I have followed all of your detailed instructions and fixed the carburettor of my new BSA Victor 441 and let me tell you, this thing performs amazing!
Keep up the good work!
badass aweseomness !
I must have gotten ripped of when I bought my motorcycle: the carbs don't have enough springs!
..I Have LOTS of extras From my 82 VIRAGO 750 HITACHI 40s..You want any>>? They're in my " Extras" box. ..Trade you for Some Muffler bearings
My 1980 suzuki gs850g only have 1 spring per carburetor.
@@darnelljohnson3771 ya no fucking way it needs that many springs it's not real lmao
I'm surprised a snake didn't jump out with all those springs.
@@davestrain9529 muffler bearing lmao
I never tought I'd see something like this. DUDE YOU DESERVE A MEDAL!
Best video I have ever seen in my entire life!!!
I hope he starts selling his own tool line soon. That polisher is the bomb!
Thanks buddy you have now given me the confidence to clean my Ducati super sport carburetors yey
as always -informative, educational and inspirational. my next carb refurb and rebuild will go much better with this video added to my favourities. thanks buddy!
I've never rebuilt or cleaned a carb in my life, but this still had me dying right away. Great demonstration!
I thought i was watching an actual how to until the springs. Good content sir
"...but i found the best thing that works for carburetors, is carburetor cleaner." lollllzzz
You polished out the writing on the cap!!! Take down a notch the speed on your polishing machine!! That screw driver.... lmao!
+Arlind Sadikaj if you want a screwdriver set- czcams.com/video/16LUK_8Va8k/video.html
Nice thanks for the great tips on how to rebuild carbs just bought my first bike with a few friends and we are going through it to make sure it’s all complete and working and none of us has ever rebuilt a carb before
This may be the weirdest vdeo you've ever done. It had a strange normal-ness about, in some places, a little.
+Yoshio Tamiya I'll have to work on that !
Sometimes I feel funny after licking too much window tape
shadetree surgeon that happens to me when I lick blotter tape .... even if it's just a tiny square
+Ichiban Moto you sure that has nothing to do with the LSD?
+Ichiban Moto bad ass
A wild Florida man comment
when i did my carb i had no diamond or sand paper so i cleaned most jets etc with an angle grinder, very gently of coarse, runs sweet now, my diaphragm had a 3 inch split in it , they cost £2.99p so i decided to try brown parcel tape, it wasnt great, only lasted about 8000 miles so a week later i tried the fragile parcel tape, and hey presto i just completed 100,000 miles last week and it runs great now, it does 369 miles to the litre now, only prob was i dropped a few screws down the inlet port in the engine which i just couldnt get out, mainly cos my fingers are too fat, anyway i found some plastic screws in my kids mechano kit, they were a bit small so i just put lots of silicon on them and work fine, oh yes, i almost forgot, my ike dont run off petrol any more, it now runs off crude oil straight from the ground, just filter it with a 3000 grit filter, it runs great now, cheers for the extreemly helpful vid.i couldnt have done it without you, that is waht my dad says, ime only 4, actually ime 4.3 yrs old.
I died a few times with that master editing on the polishing lol
I do a lot of carb rebuilds and cleaning, that soda blaster would make things so much faster. Thanks for posting this.
+Sumo Hooligan440 you are very welcome :)
My daughter and i are rebuilding the carb on an old GT80. Found this video and after wishing i had a sodablasting chamber, we roared with laughter through this whole video. Bravo dude. We all loved this.
Glad I read the comments. I came here looking for education and actually took the process seriously. Thought your methods were just a little unorthodox. After further review I rate your troll 9/10. Well done sir. Hook me up with a set of those snap on screw drivers and some stickers. 👍🏼
Great video dude. Thanks. Had no need to clean a carburetor but my girlfriend and her whole family and I loved watching this video. Keep it up!
You sir...are a Master of the trade...😆
I asked my Snap-On driver where I can get some of those tools. Showed him some screenshots. I don’t know if he knew how to get them or if he was trying to hide a secret.
How you can do this without pissing yourself is completely beyond me, I loved the springs!!!
carb work is serious business
This is fucking hilarious, thank you for making this pure gold video.
haha ! thanks for watching and sharing !
Hilarious yet informative as always.. stocking up on Diaphragm tape as we speak.
+Back Road Moto I'm adding some to my tool roll
Nice now i can take apart my injectors and clean them!
I notice when reboring the jets to the correct size you used an elliptical precision bit what off set would I need for XS 650 koni carbs or they might be makita I'am not sure as Ive polished all the markings off!!
Why didn't I find Ichiban Moto sooner? He is the perfect mix of "I really know what I'm doing" and "let's make it look janky" haha.
Im convinced that this man can do anything!
OK... I'm sold. Thanks for the informative video. Pulled the carbs off my 1975 Yamaha 650 today. Feeling some of your confidence now!
+Frank Towler bad ass !
Is it sad that this is the only video I have to rebuild my carbs with? It's gonna take me 4x longer just to build all the fancy tools he uses.
I have a video on crafting your own screwdrivers.. it is pretty simple and does not take more than a couple of weeks. maybe I should sell them?
Bad ass
Where can I get a precision hand brace like that with the interchangeable buffer attachment?
I can’t believe I rebuilt a carb following these instructions and it worked. The lorb works in mysterious ways.
Bro my curb didn't have secondary jed with pilot jed is it OK?
I grew up working mechanics on my fathers work shop with heavy equipment and this is so it, brings good old memories, bad ass video
Do you have a link I can buy that vw hub cap to build that cleaner kit?
Hey Itchiban Moto, the carb I have on my Honda CM400T won’t sync on the choke, not sure how to fix it, if I sent in my carb would you be able to do it?
I got a bike about a year ago and have been turning it into a tracker. I'm 17 and nee to bikes and when I first bought it I watched theses videos and I thought they were serious and now I went back and watched this... comedy gold honestly
Great video, just bought a 1975 Honda cb125s. Will be using all your videos to help with the restoration. Love the polishing, can't wait for more vids.
Scott Viers that's a nice machine ! post some vids of your restoration process !
Right on.
In case ya’ll missed the subtle dry humour tool theatrics⚡️ This dude is a genius!
I have found that a high E string off of a guitar is an invaluable tool when rebuilding motorcycle carbs as it fits into many of the jet orifices. :)
I am so happy I ran into this video! I just keep laughing so hard. you sir are awesome
Im so glad this is the same carb that's on my four wheeler. Makes fixing it easier
I like how you said to make sure you have a clean surface while pointing at your dirty table. ;D
like dad always said "do as i say, not as i do"
Hahaha, fantastic comment! You did a great job on that carb, BTW.
Man, great video, very instructive! Wish I could afford your tool set!
LoL, seriously, I was laughing out loud!
And very usefull, kudos!
You had me at DIY carburetor blaster🤓
Can you guide me to where you'd place the o rings and gasket though?
Where did you find what the jet hole sizes are?
Ichiban I fixed my carburetor I found something else out, the thing that spins when u kick it won't let me start my bike I think is where u do the timing for the bike, the plate that spins is loose would u think that will be the reason it's not starting ?
These videos are bad ass. You just earned another subscriber.
I love this! High tech tools are the best
Thank you very much for uploading this interesting video.
I really enjoyed your low-tech approach
and your Zen-way of handling and talking.
I.m.h.o. one of the best instruction videos on CZcams!
+Paul D. thanks for the kind words Paul :)
You are such a crazy guy! You have a unique kind of humor. The only thing that i can take for serious is your set of high quality tools. Thanks for entertainment.
As the owner of a multi-line motorcycle/ATV service center, I find this hilarious! It would be even more funny if we didn't see stuff like this on a daily basis! I think we may have gotten a few in that used your "tips" and didn't realize it was a joke.
I have a 2002 Honda Ace I want to rejet the carburetor to a stage 2 how much would you charge me
Bad ass good! The Crown jewel of how to Vids! Thank you!!
"Pilot Jet, Idle Jet and Primary Jet"! Reminded me of when I serviced my car's carburetor; when I was finished I had some screws and pieces left over and I couldn't remember where they had come from; the engine still worked fine.
The technical term for leftover parts after an assembly is, "hud parts". At least that's what I've always heard them referred to as. Of course Google doesn't know anything about it. Google never knows anything about mechanical stuff.
How did you get the liquid out of the float before closing it back up?
The ultra-sonic cleaner...it's an amazing machine. :D
+PistnRods technology is awesome :)
Lol... Definitely not the carb rebuild guide I was looking for, but I'm so glad I found it haha..
my bike is running like Shizen! It looks like I'm missing some springs in there. How many springs is supposed to be in there?
nice video sir i learn how to clean and fix my carborator :)
Your vids crack me up! love it!
This was the best comedy I've watched all year... and those tools. :)
Another awesome video. Thanks Ichi!
+Martin Brown you are very welcome !
I think your awesome buddy.that was a great get to the point n get it done.very well explained , with letting us know what all the parts are n what not to do.i do appreciate u taking the time to make the video.keep them coming.
I'm late to the party, but this is the most badass video on CZcams.
Gonna go an' watch the polishing vijeo now, that was BADASS!
I love to see a master craftsman at work with the most high-tech tools that money can buy! 🤣
i have vids on how to make some of them
I followed these steps precisely and my tuna salad came out perfect.
The most important tool of all is that bag of green fuzzy carb stuffing in the upper left corner
Howv did you make the blaster(the one clean carb's external)
Wolf CB the how to build link is in the video description
Great vid as usual. Number 1 motorcycle channel.
Mine only has 1 spring...do you gain more horsepowers with each one??
love your sense of humour
+John Hunt thanks for watching and sharing !
I tried this, and now my bike doesn’t work. But that’s fine because I know I did it properly. Thank you.
Thank you MR Ichiban, all give it a try, kinda like big loose spokes at about 80 mph it starts a wobblen but it smooths out at 100 mph but slowing back down wow hang on, and yep not know 1/4 1/2 3/4 but 100% full race. Some good stuff, love your videos. The get all my bikes running BAD ASS spechely my 86 RGV 500 squar 4.
Great video I watched it so much I feel like I already rebuilt mine and it's still just sitting there looking at me lol your video is definitely educational but doesn't do much for my confidence in diving right in much would you charge to do the rebuilding for me
this is allright man u rock
at what point in this video did you realise that he's F-ing with you a little bit? That was genuinely entertaining, and took me back.
My carb had and extra half-spring. Is that what gives my bike the extra 7cc's over my buddies 250?
+39knights possibly. or maybe it's your tire pressure or battery voltage
Love this guy. Joker. Still it's a really informative guide!
I loved your video, its unique, thats for sure. even the subscribe part at the end. AWESOME
+Brian Lopez thanks for watching and sharing !
I have a1988 Honda shadow vt600c need to know how to put carbs back together
we have a long waiting list... send them to Cody at the motorcycle md
how can i get my carbs rebuild by you i have a 82 gs1100L , was told my main jet needs to be replaced. no power at sluggish at wide open throttle. tons of bottom end
Timothy Childs try putting in some Marine outboard two cycle TCW3 rated oil in your gas tank at a ratio of 1 oz per 5 gallons of gas. Works great. do not put in just 2 cycle oil. Put in what I described. You can buy a small bottle at Walmart under the na,e Super Tech.
All the springs got me lol!!
How do you know what level is correct for the float? And that measuring thing shows what number? How did you know?
the float height spec is in your service manual. it varies by make model
I watched the entire advertisement so you'll get the cash credit! Knowing I'd get tips and tricks from the master!
Brian Wright I'll watch out for that in google analytics ! I have been looking forward to seeing some of that !
Dude that polish is serious!!!
Like it or not, the man is genius.
I love the tools you using lol
