Donna Sells; I never said she was a bad mom, first of all. Secondly, the mother turned her away for such a long time and would not allow her to nurse... therefore, I am surprised that she let her nurse after all that. Get it??? Thirdly, I do not have to learn from a monkey, on how to take care of my child. My children are grown and I have never beaten up any of them, and they never went hungry either. I've been watching these videos for a long time now and is it just me or does it seem like Jade let's Julina nurse more than any other baby she's had??? Because remember when Amber was younger than Julina and being forced to wean I mean she always fought her babies at this stage and with this one she puts up a slight resistance then always gives In..
Some moms or different maybe this one has special needs I know she bite the hell of her when she was what 12 hours old

I have read that if mom doesn't give them what they need not just milk, they will grow up with behavior problems. And I would say Jane biting her face the day she was born and never making her feel safe is some of what researchers were writing about.
Makes a lot of sense. Then jades sister Jane feeds her monkey offspring an abnornal (for this subspecies of macaque) Amt of time and they never really wean. She had a full grown offspring , Tarzana, nursing, juvenile Janet and infant Jana. Look up the tandem nursing info on these monkeys and it's mind boggling bc they don't! They fully wean by 6-9 months, year at the latest, in the wild where they're not being hand fed.
If mom monkey would bite him really hard he might figure out who is the boss here. He's fixing to jump in for the milk bottle.

I've noticed that in the last few videos of Jade finally letting Julina nurse ...the VO'Sl wait til she gets good and settled in ...then they throw food ...knowing...that Jade is going to go for the food and as soon as she moves...Julina is going to throw a fit....like they have to get it on camera...that's just mean...I know a lot of people including myself don't like to see these big babies nursing....but, in the macaque world they will nurse there babies any where from 12-18 months or even up to the next birth !! I didn't make the rules...but, on Julina's behalf she has had to fight for every drop of milk she's ever gotten from her momma...and she is an exceptionally large baby...she was born looking like a 3 month old...but, those of you who are long time viewers or newcomers who surf for videos ....on the day she was born ...and I mean just hours old... her mother was biting her face off and did so everyday ..her lips cut up and so swollen from her biting and her chin was just raw...it's like nature loaded the gun, and nurture pulled the trigger... Julina hasn't had much nurturing!! so, VO'S leave her alone...Jade never gives her any kinda of comfort or hugs ...let that baby nurse....cause her momma's pregnant and all of this will be over soon!! 😁♥️🐒

I totally agree with you Laura Tannehill....Ive been watching since Julina was born and Jade has always been pretty rough on Julina from day one.. for Julina to get milk it was always a battle for her.. Jade isnt very affectionate or motherly towards Julina even when she was born...I feel bad for her... shes a hot mess the poor thing.. and when mom FINALLY gives Julina a bit of milk.. they throw food and BAM then watch Julina freak out ...its sad because Julina may be no longer a small baby but i think she needs that milk to get healthy .. lets face it , shes looking a lil rough ,, not as healthy as the others her size and age..

What Jay did with her babies was cruelty not anyting accepted by researchers. In their studies there are many different reasons why these mothers act like they do but Jade wasn't raised by a bad Judy was a halfway decent mother but actually let Jane hang on her teat all day long just like she does with her kid's.
Julina just needed a mother for love and acceptance and some of that came along once Jinx was born and actually that's when Jade did a 180 because Jinx is grown and still nursing.
I'm very grateful for your comment! I'm just sick over some of the horrible things people say about these baby monkeys!! The comments can get pretty evil! And I don't understand that type of feeling towards an animal doing something that comes natural, like wanting and needing the feelings that come along with being breast fed and comforted by mom. Robyn Mafile'o In wild where they have to find themselves they usually skip a year. Those of course popp up a new baby as often it’s physicaly possible. It’s undrestandable though that they are all tired of konstant nursing and try to get a little brake before the new baby is born

THESE monkeys are never short of tucker and generally over conditioned so they pretty much are feeding babies or pregnant all the time. So VOs and tourists if you dont want to see 'pity' baby dramas . . Stop feeding them!
I've read that they nurse up to 2 years of age and stay close or near mom up to 5 years, so this is normal!! But they do make them take breaks because they nurse much more at bedtime!!
