If you have the money for the more expensive items then go for it. But I'm not wasting money on expensive things when the cheap or "bad" items work.

Those mechanical pencils do break often, but they’re so cheap and come in big packs that if you aren’t worried about storage, they could be a good buy. I got a pack that lasted me a whole school year. Never had to borrow a pencil, because I had 50 in my backpack.

They also just generally look a lot better. People can bash the “Aesthetic” study stuff online, but it actually does work. Things being neater/less colourful makes studying easier because you aren’t distracted as much. I’ve found that having a nice, clean study area with pastel highlighters/etc is much more motivating than a cluttered study area with bright neon highlighters/etc.
tip:i don’t recommend pink earsers because they dont earse well and can still see the markings i recommend the hi-polymer its a white earser and i grew up with them 😊

If you're not regularly writing paragraphs in your notes, it might be worth looking into a sketchbook instead of lined paper. I found that having a blank canvas and being able to structure my notes however I like without dealing with any existing lines was a lot easier and helped me with actually taking notes, something I've struggled to do most of my life.
You may not want to spend this much money on a pencil, but Kurutoga pencils have a mechanism inside them that rotates the lead and keeps it sharp. I have a few, and it works unbelievably well, but $10 for a pencil is a bit much

If you don’t have those papermate mechanical pencils, you NEED to get them; they are so useful. Also, for the college ruled paper, I realized in the middle of the year (too late) that my assignments required a lot of writing and I was finishing up too much wide ruled paper. So, college ruled paper is more practical since there’s more space.
i always go for the cheap-ish stuff, like regular bic pens and those noris pencils. just buy a 10pack or something and they usually last the whole year. if you need to measure, use those triangle thingys, not rulers, and if you only use rulers for straight lines, use a protractor (the flat edge of course) as they can be used to measure angles as well as lines and circles. only bring stuff like a compass if you need it in the specific day. fat highlighters are better as its much easier to count stuff to make sure you have everything with you (i count by '5 small things, 4 fat things and 2 flat things'). always bring a glue stick (i recommend the 3-pack small pritt sticks, they are really useful although a bit expensive) and never give yiur glue to someone else. works from primary through to sixth form
Pilot Frixion pens are literally my favorite pens and I only use them. They write extremely smoothly and they are erasable. TRULY erasable, not like the old school erasable pens in the 90s/00s that just smeared everything around and ripped your paper. The only drawback to the Frixion pens is the ink will disappear in extreme temperatures so you can't leave stuff in your car or whatever. But you can freeze the paper and it will come back. So it's all good.
In middle school, I took a massive bag of silly goofy wooden pencils for a king who would always ask me for pencils. Gave him a perfect attendance one after he missed a few days of school lol
Get a few Twisbi ECO fountain pens, have one in black, one in navy, one in red, and a broad tip in the highlighter ink of your preference. So long as you don't lose them, they'll last forever and improve your handwriting at the same time. If you're going to buy mechanical pencils, spend a little more and get a proper one from an art supply store. Again, more expensive, but if you don't lose it the pencil will likely outlast you and will actually work well. Someone of them even allow for multiple thicknesses of lead.
My tip is don't get the cheap backpacks that you usually see around back to school time. instead get a day hiking backpack because they are designed to handle more weight than the cheap ones.
Now do the best school supplies that students should buy. Also thanks for this, it saves money and time.

I use something very similar. The Pentel Twist Erase Click. I also use the light blue Color Eno lead, because it makes sketches look a bit less harsh.

Get a few Twisbi ECO fountain pens, have one in black, one in navy, one in red, and a broad tip in the highlighter ink of your preference. So long as you don't lose them, they'll last forever and improve your handwriting at the same time. If you're going to buy mechanical pencils, spend a little more and get a proper one from an art supply store. Again, more expensive, but if you don't lose it the pencil will likely outlast you and will actually work well. Someone of them even allow for multiple thicknesses of lead.
