This is the best example of a good mapping movie, there is well-defined alliances and sides, there is a main protagonist and antagonist, and the countries have individuality but not so much individuality to make the video look like a regular movie.
Alright I've seen all these hate comments and I feel like it would be good for someone to confront these haters. Let's first just clear up the fact that this was just an alternate future video? It's not a real thing. It's just a video meant for entertainment and not real life politics. So don't get too serious about some fantasy story that's just made up. Second, to all those Anti-China people out there, please note that Yorkie is FROM China and that this is HIS perspective. Just because someone has a different opinion doesn't mean they're bad people. Yes I'm from China too, so you guys might say that I'm biased and that I'm saying lies like how China uses propaganda in the 1960s. And to that, you're right. I AM biased, but being biased doesn't actually MEAN anything because literally EVERYONE makes everything go to their own perspective. The only difference is that some people are willing to admit it while most others are stubborn and won't accept anything that's not in their view of the world. 3rd, this is too all the mad Americans and Indians that are angry at Yorkie for killing off America and India and turning them into antagonists. To those people I say: why don't you take a look at me, a Chinese leftist who has watched mapping for years, and complain about your own country becoming an antagonist. That's like a Austrian complaining to a Chinese that their own country has collapsed into a billion pieces. You sometimes just have to get used to it. I have watched many mapping series over the years and I couldn't even count all the times China was the antagonist and eventually loses the big final war against America and all the other bland protagonists. In fact it's still so rare to see China do something even mildly protagonist-like. Everyone depicts China as this big villain who wants to spread communism or some other ideology around the globe. It's happened so many times that I just got used to it. So don't complain that your country died one time because mine has died like 50 times already. And for my last argument, for those people who say that it's not realistic for something like this to happen, just read the title. ALTERNATE Future of Asia. ALTERNATE. It's an ALTERNATE UNIVERSE. It's SUPPOSED to be fake. In fact, most mappers do this. Why? Because it makes the story more interesting, which I hope everyone thinks is a good thing, since I don't think anyone wants to make videos more uninteresting. Also Yorkie doesn't hate any of these countries. I see lots of salty Indians in the comments complaining that it's unrealistic and that China had committed atrocities in India, which is true, but Yorkie doesn't hate India at all. In fact I think he respects it, and I think that every negative comment about India will just make him hate a country that he once respected. I mean, one of the only THREE admins in his discord server is Indian. And unlike some Indians, he isn't mad at Yorkie for killing off his country. Also come on, let's be honest, it was VERY interesting to see China in a good perspective at once. And again, I'm biased, so feel free to reply to me with doubts. But seeing the country that I once resided in being painted in a good light for once, the sheer amounts of joy that I got as a Chinese leftist just made Yorkie one of my favorite mappers. It's just that some Americans have always had their country being painted in a good light and when they eventually see their country dying for once, they retaliate in anger and hating on the video. Unable to hold back their emotions because they had their country painted in a good light for almost the entire time that mapping existed, and they eventually turn into idiots who bomb Yorkie with dislikes just because they expect their country being painted in a good light for granted. There was one Indian who commented that they were happy to see India as a villain, saying that India being a generic protagonist has gotten old. And I give FULL respect to that guy. Let's be honest, the cycle of America, India, Japan, France, Britain, and Israel vs China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Pakistan, and Laos has gotten old. And for the 3rd time, yes, I am biased. But this comment is to just debunk all these hater's opinions. Because let's be real, people who get mad at a made up fantasy story are just basically potheads...
Honestly, I really appreciate the comment, James, so thank you for that. I honestly don't have anything against India, or any nation for that matter. As you said, it is tiring sometimes seeing the same us and uk led alliance defeating communism or russia or some fantasy nation, which is one of the reasons i did this and had china as the protagonist. Although I'm not from China, I do live here and have lived in china since I was born, and I really didnt mean to offend anyone while making China the protagonist and the US the antagonist, it was just out of interest in trying something new as opposed to what is common in mapping.
