*Painful* to watch. Now my friends and I just ridicule the show. One example... *WTF* is up with them being at the school from 8pm to 11pm all the time??? No locked doors... on a military base... lights on.... students and non-students just randomly showing up to fit the storyline.
Yeah... One of many issues that annoy us regularly.
I honestly liked the show & was ready for a season 2 now I’ll say the show would’ve did better if they didn’t start off so slow but I enjoyed the build up of it getting interesting .
Yeah we don't doubt that there are fans of the show out there but not really enough to keep it going. Hope you find something else that can fill it's shoes. What we you favorite part of the show?
Show as a whole was slow roasting trash to me. But I'm glad the are people who gave it a chance.
I'm watching it to see myself repped properly finally lol and I love the love triangle.

@@comicromance I have never read the comic unfortunately. But I have been enjoying the Naomi with my 15 yo niece. I think she is a pretty good character for my niece to see so far.

I lasted up until the 4th episode, I just could not put myself through another episode of a show that isnt even drawing me in at all, I stuck with the batwoman show even though its bad, but it atleast had me interested and drawn in to see it, but with naomi, it just doesnt give me any reason to really watch it any further, might wait till the season is over to binge watch the rest of the episodes cause its not having me interested on wanting to wait a week to see the next one.
Yeah. It's just dry. Naomi's story in the comic is quicker and much more vibrant. This just doesn't reflect that. @shamzam30 what's your favorite Nerdy show?!
@@comicromance I would have been interested more in the show if the first season was her slowly discovering things, instead of it all being thrown at her all at once and not leaving room for any kind of suspense that gets a person to wanna know what happens on the next episode. It had some moments like that, but not enough to really do it.
Flash is my favorite show, may not be as good as it was early on, but I watch it cause he is my favorite DC character, also liked how the show has john wesley shipp on it since he played the flash from the 90's
@@shamzam3012 def understand that. We have a couple videos on flash feel free to check those out as well. Flash is the last original from the Arrowverse. Do you think he'll stick around even if they don't bring the show back for another season?
@@comicromance the show is up for a 9th season which may be its last, it will be sad to see it end, but hope the ending is good. A show I wish could come back for another season or two is black lightning, I hate how that one ended after 4 seasons, just feels like they could tell abit more on things especially jefferson peirce uncle or great uncle that is still alive called gravedigger, I wonder what his character is up to and that shadow organization that tobias whale was a part of, They want to take over freeland, but with tobias gone, they can maybe move in to try to take it, just those two things were just never concluded properly.
@@shamzam3012 there was definitely a lot more that they could have done with Black lightning and his supporting characters, though we do believe they were done word Gravedigger's storyline. It certainly was a shame to see them all go so soon. Who was your favorite from the series?

Well, I thought this earth's show was a pocket dimension inside naomi's head. The entire universe goes around her. The most disappointing thing was not getting superman comic book stuff, she supposed to be a huge superman fan, then she realized her most loved hero exists and then nothing, not a single question, reference or mention. What would be your reaction if suddenly you found that something like this is real!? Would spend hours talking to the comic book aliens about how much of their universe is like the comics?
Yeah I would have definitely had more questions and there's so much more to explore there.
I think there's a series of missteps coming from this one. Are you enjoying it?

I went through all 13 episodes, and I found the show remarkably boring and inept. It felt like going through molasses without enjoying the taste of it. The character's 16 and is supposed to be smart, but acts like she's 8. Her friends (too many) are one dimensional. Her foster parents are dull. She should have one mentor, not two. Mentioning Superman in EVERY EPISODE while not making your lead character stand on their own feet shows creative anxiety. The bad guy(s) aren't impressive, and the stakes are non-existent. I'm glad that Ava Duvernay didn't get a chance to work on a New Gods film, because she seemed to want to "get away" from the typical superhero tropes, but not understanding why they work. Sadly, it's going to be a while when another TV show with a Black female superhero as the lead (Batwoman doesn't count because that was shameless pandering, referring to the murder of George Floyd) gets green lit.
Naomi as a show is a freshly lit turd but we don't blame Ava Duvernay for that. If she were the issue the rest of the CW/Arrowverse shows would be thriving right now and they CLEARLY aren't.
Also as much as we don't like Batwoman as a show, Javicia Leslie was a breath of fresh air for more seasons than the other lead so basically it was her show.
Also it's hilarious that nobody considered it pandering when they hired Ruby Rose who couldn't act her way out of a parking ticket.
I wish this was an actual review with substance instead of just personal opinion...
I wish this comment was more a critical criticism instead of just a useless gripe.

@@CoverSongStation I mean I was just matching the energy of the review itself. If you would have mentioned the fact that the character was recently created to honor the creator of Static Shock Dwayne Mcduffie, or the importance of the representation of the show this has but none of that was said
@@comicromance I was just missing the substance outside of personal opinion maybe history about the story line, or even who worked on the show itself... considering this is solely based on the first episode and first impression I would hope a black person in America would be able to mention that.
@@_irateswami_ The point of the vid wasn't that this character was created for representation purposes or why her last name was so significant. The point of the video was to point out how incredibly underwhelming the series is as a whole and how it felt like a let down for many reasons and was yet another misstep the the CW was investing in. Must not have stated that.
Odd to think that a video whos title starts with ''Why nobody cares about the CW series Naomi...'' doesnt sing said series' praises.

Absolutely correct. They finally chose to make a show less than 20 episodes and they still took they're sweet time with the actual substance. As I said in the video, not surprised it got cancelled.
Actually the fact that she doesn't have allot of source material to pull from is why the show could have worked. She not flash, superman, Wonder woman etc. She's a new character with no real fan base to be outraged in case the screw up. In other words they have more creative freedom with Naomi vs Superman or flash.
I just binged watch all cringy ass 9 episodes and I'm done lol I'm officially clocking out. I would have preferred a 5th season of black lightning vs having this shit. It's a shame Naomi has such great potential they just don't know what do with her.
You're assuming that with less comic history comes more satisfied fans and that is a WILD assumption to say the least. 😂 Our main concern was that with more character history we'd be guaranteed to see more from her. If they were goin to go in wildly different yet wonderful directions they'd have done so from the start but they haven't as most who watch the show can see. What was your most or least favorite part about the show?
Lataurean Ezell nah the Painkiller spin off would have been the best route.
Almost every awesome Black Lightning episode was because Painkiller was in it.
He was the best thing to come out of Black Lightning.

@@abongilezolanipeterson5588 Not exactly. Painkiller himself from the comics AND from his appearances on Black Lightning did not garner enough of a following. He could certainly have been an interesting addition to another show and maybe him/thunder and Grace could've tried to take the forefront of another season of Black lightning but honestly we feel like this:
Were his scenes in Black Lightning mostly fun or high energy? Yes. Did he deserve a solo show? No.

What was it about that backdoor pilot or about the CW as a whole that convinced you that the Painkiller series would be anything but an abject failure?
Nupe, don't care; Naomi and Supes n Lois are just high production value garbage; I re-watch Arrowverse instead.

@@ravengorepictures Nah, Johnathan Kent is the only honest to goodness character on that show, the rest are just shallow one note collections of trauma triggers. What is the deal with dressing up Lois like she's Jessica Jones and then gutting all her drive and determination anyway: "I'll just make do with the local paper and be a full time Mom sacrificing for muh man" that is so NOT Lois, please. At least in the comics Lois was writing her book, Lois doesn't even get that she's just a local smalltown has been in this show. They oughta just have Lois buy out the paper and be the editor or something, it's just Lois settling nah man, not great.
