Flavia, you were not dumb. The test is hard and scary for all rookie drivers. I took drivers education classes and my instructor assured me that I was now a good driver but when I went to do the test I failed. I passed it on the second try. Back when I got my drivers license in the 90s our test was in a big empty parking lot, not on the roadway in regular traffic (here in the US). I'm glad you now have your license. Great lesson on not giving up on yourself. I love your blouse beautiful!

Dear Flavia, I cried today I failed my third driving test after a very confident practice on Friday. I totally lost my confident, because in homeland I drive for years. Geeezzz, I can't imagine to repeat all those theory questions!! I am ashaaammeedd Ps: always got my period on test day
I just failed my first last week. I have to take it again on the first and I’m horrified because if I fail again I’ll have to repeat the whole damn theory again. It’s so hard.

It is true that learning driving in Germany for a foreigner is so difficult, and everyone must go to the theory lessons each time for 1.5 hours for 12 times, even you donot understand any German. Then taking theory test, after you pass, you can learn driving. You must learn 9 compulsive driving such as driving in the night, autobahn and countryside rode. Then you are ready to take test. When you have a good driving instructor you are lucky, but I had a very bad female instructor, is `Farheshule Mach`, and she was very bad to me, so I learned 40 hours, she told me that she was too stupid to teach, and she broke the contract. So I have to find another school. Until now, I have payed all together 4,500 euros, and I failed the first ti,e test, so I am on my way to the second test. By the way I am over 40 years old and not speak good German. But I am not lucky because I must take test in the area I am registered my residence to take the est, it is a law too, so nit many driving schools in my area, and peopel are not very open and nice here, it is a small village. I am so suffering about learning driving in Germany.
Oh dear, your not stupid at all! The tests are very tough!! The only reason I passed my test was because of being the last person before christmas plus at parking I was doing a solid job XD My driving was horrible... totally understand being scared of the test.

I prayed to God that the driving in structure wouldn't make me enter the freeway, because lord knows I didn't know how to drive on the freeway. Oh how I wish I could do this in Germany. It would make all the difference in the world if I could just practice driving with my husband in our car… In the US, this is allowed. You have to get a “learner’s permit”, enabling you to drive with a licensed driver. This is so great because you can get as much practice as you want in a low pressure situation. In Germany, you can ONLY drive with your driving school instructor. I am so scared. I just failed my first driving test last week. I have another on the 4th and if I don’t pass I have to begin those looooooooong theory lessons again, and pay for it all again. I am so stressed out.

It's cool that you kept trying. You are way better than me. Before I started driving cars made me nerves, and test also made me nerves. Lets just say I failed my first "driving" test. They said I didn't stop at the stop sign long enough and that's why I failed. I didn't even want my licences when I was 16, so I was not happy at all that I had to take the test again. Years later and I'm still unhappy about that ='-D.

I had a hard time with my drivers licence when I was in high school. I failed the Ga once. So my Dad took me to Florida and I passed the florida one on the first try. But yes the test was hard.

I failed twice and am crying cos i keep paying my teacher 200euro and Tuv exam money 91euro plus extra driving hours required by the tuv in germany.approximately 500 after each fail plus over 2700 euro i spent on my pratical classed 😪😪😪😪
