So just because brian picks a character it means that character was well made? That makes no sense, ed is well made ill give you that, but brian probably picked him because he likes the boxer type and his design gameplay wise in this game, one thing has nothing to do with the other
@@butteredtoast3032 I think it's more so that - if I'm not misremembering, Ed was one of Brian's most disliked characters in SFV and what they did with him in SF6 was an incredible glow-up.
@@butteredtoast3032 i think you misses a bit of context, but ed in sf5 was one of the worst caracters for brian, he didnt like him at all, one year ago he still had that opinion and didnt believe in ed, so i meamt that because they made a caracter that he didnt like likable, is how much they improved

Kimberly is one of my favorite designs. Sadly she isn’t broken like some other characters.
She got nerfed way too much.
Kim is so rad and all three of her outfits are amazing but yeah she's just got one too many issues
She's another new character I hope becomes more of a main stay, she deserves it.
She's still good though just like the rest of the cast. There's Kimberlys up in legend like every other character, she's got some swag :)

Been maining ed for like a week and man... I get it now. He feels like he has all the tools on paper but they are all kinda finicky. Can for sure be a menace at high level but its so hard to be consistent with him compared to everyone else ive played.

You make Ed look lowkey cheap with them midscreen whiff punishes. Is he? I want to play a cheap character
He's got some cheap stuff like long range up ins and snatcher pressure but he's defensive options are quite weak. An optimised ed level 2 combo can take you corner to corner but that requires practice amd dexterity. So yes he can be very cheap if you want to and if you are good enough
What happened to JP?
Kim is an awful matchup for ed, she just corners you so fast and can pressure well without fear of our slow dp and level 1. Into cammy, lol, maybe an even worse matchup.

If people like the tricky play of Ed, why not just play superior aki
? Ed is a mid-range character with long normals. Aki is pretty much anything but that. She’s basically a projectile character that uses her fireball to protect her approach and get close, while avoiding the mid-range. They’re not similar characters outside of the fact that they both do purple things lol
@@plannedtuna8293 I think OP just meant they're both characters that require a lot of work to play compared to the more braindead characters. Rashid and Dahlsim also fall into this.
@@treytison1444 Could be. That said, as a Rashid player I don’t think he requires anywhere near the amount of work as Ed, AKI, or Sim. He’s strong in very straightforward ways and has his ridiculous level 2 - which unlike Ed’s level 2 for example, doesn’t require any complex setup. Just get any knockdown and let it rock. Obviously he has his enhanced special moves and some unique combos but that stuff is pretty easy to learn.
It's such a shame that Capcom Cup is no longer the culmination of worldwide vetting that most people probably still assume it to be. And now that they've gotten rid of LCQ, you can't meaningfully say it's any kind of endgame tournament at all. The only thing left is a showcase between individualized groups who won the geographical lotto. Effectively, EVO is now the climax of the CPT.
I respectfully disagree . I do think that losing the LCQ is a shame but the world warriors will technically be our end game since it’s something you earn over time & not you having a good day winning a premier
@@problemsnearyou8899 It's a format specifically designed to prevent Capcom Cup's roster from being an accurate reflection of the world's best, in favor of an essentially arbitrary geographical mandate. My argument here is this: Capcom Cup's final brackets will not contain the world's top 48, _full stop._ Furthermore, a tournament whose top 48 is stacked with the world's best _will be more hype to watch_ than a tournament whose roster is predominantly dictated by where people happen to live. One may argue that it's cool to see a tournament filled with people most of the FGC have never even heard of. Sure, it is! But you don't get to pretend that it's cool that the alleged culmination of a year's worth of vetting is _that._ The World Warrior system should instead lead to an "opening act" at Capcom Cup before the grand finale of a traditionally-arrived top 48.

Either parries need to change, or throw loops need to change. Throw loops are obviously necessary because of parry, but it is so absolutely anti-hype and kills the pace of any match. All of these rad matches, only to be capped off by a Cammy throwing more than most grapplers can do in a full set.

@@doubledippin8971 Thank you for your incredibly valuable input. It's literally one of the most complained things as players + spectators, because it's an incredibly boring sequence to both play through, on both sides, and to witness as a spectator.

I have no idea what’s going on anymore. I’m lost 😞. In the days of SF4 and SF5 every weekend was a streamed tournament, maybe even 2 and now it’s like who knows wtf is going on

I usually stick to the big name tournaments, so many regional runs to keep track of so I don't bother anymore also
Right now there're a lot of regional online tournaments for the CPT, but there are still offline majors like CEO that happened just last weekend.
If you look up Liquipedia Tier 1 FGC tournaments you can find future majors. Like EVO is coming up in a few weeks
Someone should make a web tool to simplify things, so you can filter through tournaments to find when specific players are playing etc

@@goob8945 Liquipedia lists the notable players that have signed up for tournaments, and have a list of upcoming tournaments. But this usually becomes public around a week in advance, you can't see who is going to EVO just yet for example. They also have a page for the CPT which organizes this mess of a schedule.
