Cute! And Creepy at the same time I love Talky Tina from The Twilight Zone! Btw is the Trick Or Treat studios Talky Tina doll new? When did it first release? 🤔 I mean the one I want is different and its smaller and looks more like a play toy which I'll be getting when I'm 21 once I have my own house
I think you want the Bif Bang Pow version, she’s shorter than this one. There is a B&W one and a color version. I have the colored. You can find them on eBay but very expensive!
I just got one too. It is hard to get out of the box and yes her limbs are tight but I will try to loosen them so she can sit! My late Dad loved this show since he was a kid, we had a tradition of watching the TZ marathon on SyFy on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. His favorite eps were the Kick the Can ep and The Hunt. He also loved the An Occurence At Owl Creek Bridge special episode. Do you have the Bif Bang Pow Tina’s? I have the color version, I really like it and hope they make a color version of this too. The original doll used in the show was a Brikette by Vogue. They had brunette versions but most had red hair. I’m not sure if the one used in the show was a brunette one or a re-wigged redhead because I think the doll in the show looks like she was 22” while I thought the brunette Brickette’s were 18”. The bangs also look shorter on the Brikette dolls. I do wish they could have included every line she said, but they do have more than the BBP version. I am glad she was finally released after months of waiting!
My dad would still call me and tell me it was on. I was going to mention brikette but forgot. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. my cat woke me up last night at midnight and “living doll” was on metv at 12:30.
@@amystoystoytuesday1184 That’s cool! TZ will always bring back memories of my Dad. I don’t have a Brikette, they are always bid on at eBay. Aww, that’s cute about your cat, woke you up just at the right time! 🥰
@@charlottestarlet7371 So I was on a zoom meeting with my boyfriend’s family yesterday. I showed them Tina and no one knew who she was. I had to explain the episode to them lol.
@@amystoystoytuesday1184 lol I thought everyone knew that episode. It’s one of the most popular. Do you think of Tina as Christy’s spirit making the remarks, or is the Tina doll just naturally evil? Would every Tina sold be the same? I never knew.
This a definite buy. I have the original Bif Bang Pow release from years ago but, that one is shorter than this Tina. It also has less phrases. I love collecting the larger scale replicas of props like this. In addition to Talky Tina I have: The Zuni Fetish Warrior from Trilogy of Terror, Puppet Angel from the "Smile Time" episode of the Angel tv show and a Woof Woof doll from The Munsters tv show.
Anyone have the biff bang pow talky Tina dolls? I have both the colour and B/W and I’m deliberating whether nor not to buy this one. I prefer the biff bag pow box, it’s more solid and sturdy than this one. Idk what to do!
I also have both of the Bif Bang Pow Talky Tina dolls. No, I do not recommend at all that you should buy the new Talky Tina doll by Trick or Treat Studios. While the new Talky Tina doll does look pretty sharp in appearance, the voice box is pure crap. I mean, of the eleven phrases that the doll supposedly speaks, only one phrase is actually loud and clear. The rest of the phrases are either of low volume, garbled or simply a hodgepodge. In fact, after I received the first doll, I requested a refund from Trick or Treat Studios, but all they would offer me was a replacement. After I received the replacement, the voice box was still the same mess as before. Save your money, and avoid this doll.
@@greanfinisher4014 Thanks for the advice. Had it not been for the £300 price tag, I may have taken a chance but I won’t bother! I love the two I already have :)
You're welcome. Whatever you do, never let go of those two Talky Tina dolls from Bif Bang Pow as they will only appreciate in value. Actually, those particular Talky Tina dolls have more than tripled in value since their introduction. On the other hand, those new Talky Tina dolls from Trick or Treat Studios will only be a losing proposition for the foreseeable future. Even now, as you may have noticed, those new Talky Tina dolls from Trick or Treat Studios are not moving at all on eBay.
@@greanfinisher4014 I bought my TOT one from eBay. But here’s the thing, shopping on eBay for me is not something I want to do right now because of whatever is going on with the mail. I have packages that haven’t moved in a month. So if the new Talky Tinas aren’t selling, it doesn’t surprise me because who wants to shop online when packages are taking months to arrive, getting lost and even getting sent to the wrong state or even country?
Please -- this is a rip-off! Without even looking back at that particular Twilight Zone again, I can tell you that the face on this doll is different than the original. This is NOT any kind of replication. I didn't bother to watch this whole video so I didn't get to hear if the doll's voice is from the original soundtrack because just seeing that it does not look like the original face turned me off.
Everything is original with the Talky Tina doll all right, but the voice box is pretty darn poor. In fact, I had to make up my own voice box for the doll.
@@greanfinisher4014 I just had to do some forensics on the Tina doll because I wanted to see if my assessment of the Tina replica was valid after stating off-hand that it was not faithful to the original. Go to my Web site at jeffs-icons(DOT)com/tina-faces -- replace (DOT) with (.). A comparison picture of three Tina faces will appear. The face from the original broadcast is on the left. The face in the middle looks like another replica that is very close but not perfect. The nose is not as upturned as the original and the neck is not as wide as the original. This is a from a 12-second CZcams video I found. Also, the middle picture isn't perfect because the lower lip is not as full as in the original and the eyebrows are higher than the original. The replica that the author of this video has bought has the correct upturn of the nose but has a similar inaccuracy with the eyebrows except that they are too low instead of too high, the face is considerably narrower than the original, and the philtrum is markedly shorter than the original (the philtrum is the groove in the middle of a person's face that stretches from underneath the nose to a person's upper lip). Anyway, I was wondering -- how do you make a voice box on your own?
The link that you provided didn't work, but as I mentioned before, Trick or Treat Studios really did an excellent job with the doll cosmetically. I mean, I'm sure you would have been more than happy with the doll's actual appearance. With that said, the doll's voice box was something to be desired as most of the eleven phrases were either garbled or of low volume. In fact, of all the doll's eleven phrases, only one of the phrases was actually loud and clear. In my case, this prompted me to make up my own Talky Tina voice box which not only contained fourteen different phrases, but were also loud and clear. You see, I happen to be a professional doll restorer in the Chatty Cathy line of pull string dolls.
Hmmmm.............The link still didn't work for some reason. In any case, the Trick or Treat Talking Tina doll is actually gorgeous in appearance, and is also a pretty good likeness of the original Talky Tina doll. I mean, you wouldn't be disappointed at all in that respect. Unfortunately, the doll's value suffers because of the poorly designed voice box. By the way, my Talky Tina voice box was thin enough so I could easily tuck the voice box inside the back of Talky Tina's dress, and it was quite inconspicuous. The voice box itself is activated by a momentary button switch which is located at the back of Talky Tina's neckline.
Wow ..love talky Tina. And I love you very much.!!!
Awesome doll. Her joints seem so tight, I wouldn't wanna sit her down coz I'd be scared her legs would snap off or something lol.
They were at first. I was afraid I was going to break her. But it just takes a little strength and they’ll move
@@amystoystoytuesday1184 Do the joints get a bit looser? Or do you still have to use the same amount of strength?
@@closeyamy they get looser the more you move them. She’s in a sitting position right now.
I just checked her and they are defiantly looser than when I took her out of the box.
