  • I know some of you are in this exact situation, comparing the P10i vs MH12S vs the MH10S.
    All of them are 1800 lumens, same battery and same USB-C charging. The difference are subtle, but significant depending on the type of user you are.
    I'll go through the subtle differences so you can make a better decision on which light fits you best.

    There's another very important difference between the P10i and the MH12S. If you want to use rechargeable batteries, you can use _any_ 21700 from any brand in the MH12S. But you can only use the proprietary Nitecore rechargeable battery in the P10i. I already own the MH12S. Today, December 2023, I considered buying the P10i, but could not find spare Nitecore batteries for it anywhere online. Not even at the Nitecore Store.
    So already finding extra batteries for the P10i has become an issue. I need a tactical light at my job. I currently use the MH12S. It is not ideal for that purpose. But it gets the job done. Plus, 5 years from now or 10 years from now, I can put any 21700 battery into it; and it will work. That is important to me. As far as mode memory on the MH12S, no problem! Just put the light on the highest setting each and every single time before switching it off.

    Thank you for doing this comparison. There are not too many channels that do this or do it for what you are looking for. I wanted the p10i but at the end of the day it was just a little longer. I knew the cap was bigger bc of the two buttons but that didn’t bother me. Great reviews very helpful!!!!

    My perfect flashlight would be something like the P10i, with the strike bezel of the P20i, and finally adding 3 user selectable modes like the P20UV V2.

    Is there any 18650 oder 21700 powered Nitecore Light, which can be powered on in the highest or lowest mode with a dedicated setting? For example the End-Button always starts high, and the side switch always starts in low? For my type of use, I came to the conclusion, that in most cases I only use a low mode. But from time to time I use the highest mode. And when I do, I want to start the lamp immediately in the high mode, without the need to switch through different levels of brightness.

    Flashligh so bright but...
    The battery only last 20 to 30 minutes..
    Nitecore is best for brightness competition but not for hunting, search or rescue.

    • @NitecoreSG
      @NitecoreSG  Před 2 lety

      That's what the brightness modes are for; If you want longer runtime, run it at a lower brightness. Battery capacities are standard across the industry so the only way to get a longer runtime is to bring more batteries or get a beam optimized for your use; something like the MH40GTR, P30, New P30, will reach far at a lower brightness, solving your runtime issue. Hope that helps!
