    Literally a thundering intro. Some of Ripper Owens' best vocals ever. Cheers Jerkie :)

    Truly among the best part and Tim Owens just has such a powerful performance. You can feel the emotions, drama and intensity as you can feel Pickett's Charge from their valiant charge to their tragic inability to breach the Union lines. Truly the best composition Iced Earth, mainly Jon Schaffer, has ever made. It's great that you did a reaction on this epic masterpiece because sadly not that many are doing it. I love heavy metal and history. And let me tell you I have dreams to go to Gettysburg someday.

    Another great reaction. This trilogy is amazing. The last part, when Ripper sings what General Lee feels about the bloodshed that just happened, is very emotional. "It's all my fault, the blood is on my hands!"

      Agreed, the whole song was emotional but those last couple lines were extra

    Now we need Iced Earth- Clear the way. Another awesome war history song.

    The vocals of Lee saying how the bloodshed and loss of life was his fault is heart breaking, and the meloncoly of the end part of the song really gives finality to the battle and the sorrow from the sheer loss of life. The Union had won a incredibly important battle, but at a high cost, and the war still goes on...

    Loved the intro to this song, and the rest but the start was epic. The whole trilogy is very powerful and moving and the way it followed the movie just makes it a masterpiece. Thanks for sharing.

      The songs don't follow the movie. Both the movie and songs follow historical events...

    While the Napoleonic taxtics where definitely an issue for boyh sides its honestly kind of surpising seeing as officees such as Goerge McLellan had observed contemporary wars such as Crimea.

    You should do 'Dante's Inferno' & 'Travel in Stygian.' Dracula, Phantom Opera Ghost, A Question of Heaven, oh hell, the list is endless.

    Kills me every time 15,000 rebs charge towards the center and the cannister rips through them. Imagine bursts of enormous shotgun shells being fired at you and everyone around you by cannons. It is sickening and horrifying.
    The most powerful part for me when he's yelling at his men to push forward and give point to the Yankee Tyrants.

      The “We’re almost there my boys!”??? I believe that was Pickett trying to rally his troops for the final charge

      I think it was Lewis Armistead

    • @adamgorsky8422
      @adamgorsky8422 Před 2 lety

      Correct it was General Armistead, one of the officers actually leading the March towards the Angle, he would be shot and killed shortly after breaching the wall, mearly a few few hundred feet from the Copes of trees

    Tim Owens was a great singer, I think he left the band and became a police officer.. wanted to do more for the country..

    • @SVanWhelan
      @SVanWhelan Před 3 lety

      Matt Barlow, their previous singer is the one who is now with the police (in Delaware). Tim Owens still sings for various different bands/projects

      @SVanWhelan Před 3 lety +1

      And to clarify, Barlow returned to the band briefly after Owens left. Stu Block is the current vocalist
