Me as a Muay Thai fighter would aay both.
Depends on the situation
This is the way

Dutch Block doesnt hurt my legs as much as the shin blocking
you're blocking with the wrong part of the shin, you want to use the upper inside of the shin
“hurting your legs won’t matter when dutch block breaks your arm” -some muay thai keybiard warrior whos never done muay thai
“both are good in their own ways and both have flaws” -a gigachad muay thai practitioner
@@GenericAsianKid76tawanchai broke a guys arm who used the dutch block
@@444neptune9 oh ye i frogot about that
@@444neptune9that's one instance bro pereira uses that all the time and nothing ever happened. And you'd be surprised how often guys get their arm broken for blocking a head kick no matter how they do it
Dutch as I like to use my boxing over kicking.
use both on situation and for specific follow ups.
Side stepping, cutting angles with those two blocking styles
I like the Dutch block better but I might be a biased Dutchman. Badr Hari broke his arm blocking the dutch way against Rico Verhoeven. I haven’t seen Thai fighters break shins while blocking yet, but I assume it happens sometimes. Whatever you choose there is always a risk.
Thai defense is unmatched. I love watching someone recoil in pain after eating my knee to their shin
Muay Thai more focusing on defensive mechanism compared to Dutch style kickboxing.
Plus, Dutch kickboxing usually focusing in combinations (1/3 of power), while Muay Thai more of one hit at a time (but with full power)
Both are greats depending on each person perspective.
facts those Thai guys always blast away. its still technical but they put everything into everything lmao
its why I love Rodtang
What about if i Picked blending between'em ...oooooohhh am going to be a war tank 😅
So dutch is speed and Muay is strength?
@@m.g.6394 Thai style has better defence, more powerful strikes (as in, they put in 100% in each strike and are happy to trade shots to land something hard of their own) and typically better kicks
Dutch style has better hands and footwork.
This is just on average though.
@@wavyturkmusicyeah exactly but muay thai guys are sometimes to willing to take damage to give some up especially with the leg kicks. Those guys always kick no matter how often you check their gonna keep kicking.
Both are good and can both be applied for different moments :)
The dutch block is working well in k1 but wouldn’t recommend it to full blown muay body kicks. It hurts really bad lol
The Dutch because I can counter at ridiculous speed with a powerful combination
It’s always better to keep your feet grounded so you can counter or evade
So u want to break the ribs by keeping em in the ground?!...whi da fuk can say dat bruh
@@XDemonXX_ i think he means have a good stance or have a strong base so you can defend effectifly and counter but also to evade wich requirs your to be able to push of the ground , think that's what he meant
Depends. Dutch block is the Superior option for counter striking. Thai blok if you want to punish your opponents shins. Also depends on the kick. Shin counter for low kicks, dutch block for mid kicks when it comes to effectiveness. Shorter distance to travel for the blocking limb and less chance for sweeps then on the high guard.
Thai Sheild, but I utilise the Dutch swing of borrowing the momentum of my hips in order to strike smoothly with combinations ending with two kicks at the end like a Muay Fhai fighter would do while applying the Dutch way of utilising the momentum from the hips.
Both, but really depends on your style are more aggressive after the block or are you more of a technician blocking and breaking down your opponent
Well as a guy that broke his ulna I prefer shield
Fahkumram vs bryan fury
Both
Dutch style looks so effective and smooth I can’t lie
You‘re missing a little but very important detail on the Dutch block
What is ?
@@gabriel-ht2ey - I'll give you a hint (can't share all the secrets ;) ) - taking a full force kick on the forearm is not a great idea. Ask Jerome LeBanner when he fought Ernesto Hoost.
@@marcusgottlieb2307 I don't personally know Jerome. But I think you're saying that to apply the Dutch defender, you need a good reaction, if you don't want get hurt.
@@gabriel-ht2ey what I mean is don't use your forearms to block. you should use the palm of your one hand to buffer the kick and use upper body rotation to ease the impact
@@marcusgottlieb2307exaxctly ur right... u use ur gloves and you need to also break the distance more instead of just standing there...
I really rock with Dutch style more, but Thai is definitely better in some situations. That knee block to plum clinch saved my ass more times than I could count
Dutch block: hehe i blocked your kick
Thai block:
*Is your leg okay?*
🛡️
Dutch will leave you in a position to counter a lot faster
Thai superior defense Dutch superior offense (Dutch style even though it lacks elbows and less longer clinching had better boxing and more aggression which gives Muay Thai fighters trouble from available footage being found)
Both why not
Blend the 2
Dutch blocking works just fine . For it right purpose. 1st that blocking is only for med range to close blocking . Its not for full round house kicks while your out in the kicking range and yes dutch boxing do check kicks . Who knows why the dutch blocks this way ? There again its all about distances . 1st these are two Mauy Thai fighters abd it shows to the fullest. Look at the stances . They aint bladed enough . And a Dutch Boxer is not swinging that arm back behind when kicking . Thats a Mauy Tai style . Your power comes from your hip and pivot not putting your arn behind you . Its a fast way to eat one in the face . I believe both arts are bad ass . Now my opinion I like Dutch kickboxing better . I rather be a pressure fighter in a real combat . Oh that dutch blocking is for moving inwards not standing in kicking range and eating that shot . If so at least roll out that elbow more vertical into his shins at least . But western boxing rules in a street fight . Now put Muay Thai kicking and karate with boxing . Cross train Sambo its a nicer flow into dutch style boxing than Mauy Thai but then alot of Mauy Thai cross trains in BJJ . YES I BELIEVE MOST FIGHTS WILL GO TO THE GROUND BUT IT DOESN'T MEAN TWO HAS TO GO EITHER !!!! I rather do foot sweeping or throwing before being on asphalt wrestling in either style being BJJ, Sambo, Catch Wrestling ( Street Jujitsu ), and good ole American ground and pound wrestling last resort . If you been doing Mauy Thai or Dutch kickboxing for awhile I highly doubt you would even go to the ground since most street altercations last about 7 to 10 seconds lets be real about things here . Peace ✌️
Thai
dutch
Dutch
Thai block good against earth
Dutch block good against Sky
Muai Thai is best
Muay Thai seems more safe in my opinion
Depends if you want to hurt your shin or arm.
Dutch.
Muay thai is better
Dutch for sure
Muay thai
Muay Thai defense all the way.
thais defense is better for this kick, you just need conditioned shins. The dutch block will likely get your arm broken if you keep doing it
Both
