I hate how even if you play it “great” it still sounds out of time. It makes it all so much harder to do. This theme is driving me crazy.
It’s syncopation, baby. It is on rhythm, but unnatural to most people’s ears since most music is on the down.
@@crowevil4658 if that is syncopation, it is the sloppiest syncopation I've ever heard, baby. And I've played with some pretty terrible drummers in my day.
Besides, my main point is that I think the mini-game would be easier if it didn't play the notes when you push the stick but on time because then it throws off your timing for the next notes. You can still score a "great" note but be significantly ahead of or behind the beat, and on this song where some of the "notes" actually play two notes, that then makes the out of time sensation even worse.

@@fissilewhistle yeah, and it almost always helps. There’s a nice happy medium somewhere in the middle where there is time to react but still have it make sense. This song took the most tries for me for whatever reason so far though, something about it just was weird.
I like how they had the ambience of a bar fight going on in the background while you play Bareet's theme on the piano. Classy
FF7 has the best music. These songs are permanently memorized in my head
FF XVI has greater music and Nier is even better
It's the fact that none of the notes actually sync with the beat and the piano sound is played regardless what i do is what's driving me up the walls. It sounds SO MESSY! The mini games shouldn't be causing me this much grief. They should be fun...
Shame you only hear this all of two times in the OG game. Unusually catchy, still makes me think of Sector 7.

You guys do notice that the buttons are note clusters and not note for note, right? lol. It plays several notes and sequences at certain times. Of course rythm isnt in sync fully, and oof on that last note on the video. If you didn't have a miss earlier, that would have cut deep.
Musically....this thing is a mess.

My god, I suck so bad at the piano mini game. I finally managed to get Tifas Theme to an A, feeling like I got the hang of it, only to be completely crushed by this.

so like... anyone else bothered that this still doesn't have an FF7R arrangement? i would've expected it to appear in rebirth since thats where barrett's main storyline is in the original, but the only thing we have is still the jukebox version and this. it would really bother me if they didn't include a new arrangement of every song from the original especially seeing how many songs there are and how many versions something like let the battles begin gets.
You get a version of it mixed with the Gold Saucer theme if Barret is your date.
It will become easy if you let someone else focus on the right stick and you on the other 🤣
If you say it's easy for you. Can you give me a tip if I'm doing something wrong. I press both sticks, but sometimes it still doesn't work and the game doesn't register the one I pressed. Mostly on the right. Do I have to press something that I don't think about and if so, how do I recognize it?
You need a partner I ask my brother to hold the left stick and I was on the right stick prettt easy 😂
I always mess this up. It shoes to play one note but the piano does 2-3 notes. I always loose the rhythm.
Mute the game and try this again at least at 2 speed up. (If you didn't do this already by now)

@senseiswift7269 I also think it's the worst theme in the series. Perhaps one of my least favourite musical pieces ever, but I came here to hear and see it played in the game because I am trying to get the star rating in the minigame. So there are perfectly valid reasons to seek it out, even if one might not like it
This mini game makes it way worse than it is.
I agree and Barret is my favorite character in the game 😂. It's not bad...it's just the very bottom in the game as far as themes go. However in ff7 remake when Cloud talks to Barret in the Flower Garden Barret theme plays subtly and it sounds awesome there because of the timing of when it was used.
