i'm surprised mk9 sheeva wasn't there, she literally had no winning match ups and half of her good things don't work against certain small characters.
While you can make mk9 sheeva works on tall characters,Jade have none of good things about her,having no mix up,the green/purple last way too fast and her overhead like Shao Kahn in mk11
@@13thKingMu here's the problem tho, she gets hard camped and spaced by basically anyone and she has the biggest hitbox (as of playable characters) and her 50/50 mixups are bad since one wrong move means a whole combo. Also her projectile sucks mad pp since you can just jump over it. Also Jade has a winning match up against her and sheeva's basically known to be the absolute worst in the game by pro players.

You can make her work in KL but in offline tournament,she just lose every characters hell Shao Kahn have his move less flawless block gap while Skarlet still having a lot of moves that have flawless block gap.
Ride to the Darkness Umbreon offline yes she is kinda trash but online where frames fuck up she can overwhelm you with projectiles and her meter comes back pretty fast after the enhanced blood so she can build health back up pretty quickly

I can’t argue joker is worse in this game. Even jokes to be the worse with his setups that can be countered by laying down. Bad zoning, bad power, and some combo strings are horrible.

As a Skarlet main in MK9 I can say I was extremely disappointed with her in 11. She plays nothing like the wild jungle girl she was is MK9.

Swamp Thing actually does have a really good mixup. One of his strings leads to an overhead which starts a combo, but you can also cancel that string into his log kick special which is a low.

She needs to be competely redesigned mocap move-wise in my opinion. Her MK9 rushdown play style was really good and she kept almost nothing from that game. I miss bloodslide, slash mix up, dagger cancels. So much more fun to play

When it comes to Skarlet she’s one of the hardest characters in the game in my opinion. She’s extremely technical The problem is people just don’t know how to use her. Her S2 (13 frame high) is her best move it’s not just for punishing. The amount of mind games that move has is retarded.
She's like d'vorah, both need to work a lot, do setups and play really creative. They're not like liu kang or jax who can rely in just one string and stagger it, but to use all the strings depending on the situación. Anyway i think they need to be faster and safer, specially skarlet because of those gaps

Skarlet is my main. I do well with her though I have to be creative. I can do massive damage with her if I get ahold of them or I catch them in a wake up or crushing blow. I didn’t even know she was considered low tier.
Skarlet is not hard whatsoever shes literally dog just duck and block and her one over head is so easy to see its a hinge attack that has wind up time. Literally have to telegraph the shit and in a game of duck duck footsies characters with goofy command grab timings she gets raped. I mained her and frost in game was sitting at a 60%wr in ranked i tried sonya and was a 90% for a month spaming back XYA into other strings lmfao. You wanna see hard try playing frost after they figure out her mix up youre literally just standing there staring at them lmfao
Skarlets variation 3 is the one to use for more damage.
After Swamp Thing’s 3-4 rounds of buffs he eventually ended up being a well designed, fun character with a diverse tool set
I fell in love with Swamp Thing's gameplay and stuck with him for a very long time and he was a phenomenal character but you're right, his ranged game was so poor that he couldn't operate in some matchups at all. You are actually missing some of the odd things about him though. His corner game was beautiful and impressive and could make full use of his character power, he also had no ability to use his B3 or F3 during his combos at any point w/o meter which was unusual. I sadly think he needed the log to go full screen and the air dash on his standard kit to even make him playable at a high level, and believe me when i say I tried to get as good with him as I thought capable.

@@aircoots1648 try to play him it's correct that is hard to remember all things that he do but it's your opponent responsibility to remember all. Use cheesiest ones and you'll see how enjoyable he is
Are you kidding me Underdawg? Jade over Sheeva in MK9? Sheeva on every female hitbox her strings don't ever actually hit and with MK9 a lot of the females ran the roster.
I do have a soft spot for Swap Thing in Injustice 2 though. He was a ton of fun to play.
I understand your reasoning, but I had a couple reasons for my decision. The first is that I did see Sheeva at tournaments every now and then, even at high level ones. However, I almost never saw a Jade player. And while Sheeva's hitbox did fail in some match-ups, you could literally block low against Jade all day and react to her overhead. So she could never break your defense. She would have to throw over and over again. Also, she lost harder to projectiles than Sheeva because Sheeva at least had her stomp

I had a hard time in the jade section of the videos we men have struggled lol
Swamp Thing did have a couple tools against zoning but they weren't always reliable. If I recall correctly, the animation triggered after connecting a vine grab made him immune to projectiles so you'd want to do this move when they shoot and can't duck because they're in animation. His dash launcher lowered his hitbox a lot so you could go under some projectiles. He could also point his vine grab diagonally upward and I used that a lot against superman doing air lasers.

I've found that Swamp thing's Vine Grab hitbox is so small that you need to be at perfect range or you won't hit. Even with range variants, the vine grab isnt that good.

It's a shame. My main is Skarlet and while I am not that great at MK11 I still have fun with Skarlet even though I have noticed her animations are kind of slow. I've also noticed that because of her slower animations she can get punished while still hitting the opponent but the game sometimes doesn't register it as hitting the opponent. It's nothing to make me stop playing Skarlet. It's just a shame that she can get shafted by a lot of other characters specials or even basic hits.
One of her best tricks is blood ball around jumping distance and follow behind it cause opponent is forced to block. Which allow for mix ups like overhead sycthe, that low attack(forget the name) and even grabs. The blood ball is probably the reason her attacks are slow you kinda have all the time in the world to do them.although the 19 frame start up for her krushing blow is a joke. I truly believe netherealm intentionally made noob the worst character they have ever made
Man...I main Drunken Master and I have to say that he is hard to get down. However he is the mix king of that game. Outside of Drunk you can back 4 and hold stance or roll either way or pop up with 3 or 2. His cancels in and out of meditate mixed with his instant df 1 when lvl 2 drunk. It breaks armor for free! His damage is insane and his fart with ground stomp mix is heavy. Killer mids and easy ways to drink. I play him on a HitBox and he is a gem! Great video!
I thought Unbreakable Sub-Zero was the worst in MKX.
I remember they gave swamp thing some trait buffs, where some moves were projectile invincible or had armor when you were either in it or had it activated. Dont think it helped enough, but more than anything I HATE how that info wasnt added to his movelist, you just had to remember from patch notes.
Skarlet's damage is insane if you use Hermorrage. If you master boiling boiling point your can master her mix ups if the opponent isn't all day blocking low, because her only ovwrhead is super slow, but some how it catches, opponents but rarely and the krushing blow isn't worth it. I usually try to do the DOT Krushing Blow use red mist jump 2 and then her string, sadly if they break away not from the corner it's over for me, because her breakaway move's range is insanely low and you have to amplify it if you want to catch them in mid screen,but it's really useful in the corner! Her 3rd variation is really more complicated than it looks like, because she also red mist and krimson shield. I do use krimson shield, because it reduces the damagr of the opponent! It has saved me once and it was a so nice, i almost lost the round, but it saved me! She definitely needs buffs, but if you want to see more power of Skarlet her 3rd variation is the best option! I used to play with the 1st variation, because of the tele and the parry. Blood ritual is pretty useless except if the opponent is away and has really low health bar it might be useful, but nah... Please can you use Skarlet's 3rd variation in your next video to showcase her? I love your videos! 💕

Jade is actually one of the biggest pains if you play against her as AI at the hardest difficulty, because the AI's timing and execution is almost flawless, which means it takes full advantage of her green and purple armors. At least for average and advanced players - very advanced and professional players won't have any trouble I suppose, but then that would be the case against any AI character.
Two good things about Skarlets kit you didn’t mention are her setups and KBs. But her main strength lies in her keep away and get-off me tools

Mk11 baraka is definitely an honorable mention. As someone who plays kano and pocket Baraka I can zone out and footsies dedicated players easily and that is a problem considering kano is more of a keep you guessing and grappler type. Baraka has to work so hard to get in but once he does get in he can rob you quite easily but that's like once in a lifetime if you're someone like erron black or Shang tsung. He's got a TON of consistent damage but his main punisher, 1 1 2, is high on the first hit meaning in alot of cases where you should get the punish, if it's not reversal timing then he can be scrubbed out by people low profiling with d2. And one of his only good mid starters is f4 which is a step kick so that means it's on the slower side since it's meant for advancing and whiff punishing which it does a very good job at but unless your opponent does like something extremely unsafe, it's most likely not gonna hit on punish and even then if something is that unsafe just do 1 1 2. Once again he does ALOT of damage in very patient and capable hands and can straight up end a game in a minute if someone's isn't prepared for him, but his cracks are pretty easy to spot once you get a feel for his style which is to get pressure going and scare your opponent from doing anything and eating 35% although many of these situations are fake and if he loses his turn he has to work damn hard to get it back.
As a scarlet main I would have to disagree her parry with meter bern can get a good amount of health back and keeping you opponent at a short distance is a good idea but yes her keep away at far is trash
Jade in MK9 has 1 frame on startup special move, which you can use as a wakeup and get invincibility frames. Ex-version of this move is giving her even more i-frames, so she is really not the worst character. The move is her glow, by the way.
When he said “Jade could only combo off this” I literally went... “Her Standing 3 can combo into her overhead!!” 💀 i dont know why I got so mad at that. 😂
Skarlet can be the weakest character in mk11, and that makes me happy in a way, because I only play Skarlet in the Kombat League, and in all seasons I arrived in Elder God, and it shows that it depends a lot on the player...
And I would like to highlight a few points about Skarlet. She is technically the healthiest character in the game, since to recover health with her she has several ways and all effective.
Her fatal blow brings good mechanics to her, if you stay close to her, you get hit by the fatal blow, if you stay away from her you are zoned to death.
If Skarlet takes you to the corner, you will have to deal with one of the situations of either you block low to avoid starting a combo, or you will suffer absurd pressure that it can cause
absolutely agree! was really afraid to pick up skarlet cause everyone says she sucks, but i love playing as her and she’s my new main! i find her to be a really good counterpick against wifi/yolo scorpions lmao

@@icey9238 The blood ball is very good for applying pressure, especially in the second variation.
Use the third variation against characters that can apply a lot of pressure, like Jacqui and Liu Kang, while you are in the active red mist, you will be building an advantage little by little.
Use a lot of your 50/50 switching between B2 and B4, use B3 and BF1 to gain health advantage.
And remember that Skarlet has a low projectile that makes you + on hit, use it to apply pressure.
If you see that your opponent knows how to make a flawless block, throw him a lot
Also remember that Skarlet can cancel your teleport by holding it down, you can make mind games with it

Whenever I would play Injustice 2 online I would eventually find myself using Deadshot as an insurance policy because I would get a feeling that my opponent was gonna spam or zone, especially if they were using Captain Cold. Now keep in mind, my playstyle is heavily based on Combos, meter burn, and sometimes environment use. And I still will do this with Deadshot if I'm proven wrong and the person I'm fighting doesn't zone. But in the event that they do, I'll be able to counter it.
Didn't play Injustice 2 much, but Harley and Swamp Thing were my two characters in that game. However, I only ever used Harley online because I got the impression Swamp Thing was gonna suffer from any sort of projectile pressure. Seems I was right
Skarlett is a zoning character and her zoning can be straight up busted sometimes.
She doesn't need to have fast strings on top of that. Look at the range on the strings in the first place. They're slow for a reason. She's the one of the only keep away characters they designed right in this game.
I agree to an extent, but when literally no one is using her at tournaments, you know she is lacking
@@TrueUnderDawgGaming the only way she should lose the gaps in some of these strings it is if they make some of them less safe. As it stands like I said the reason she HAS these gaps is because at about neutral range when you DON'T flawless block her she can essentially just do whatever she wants and if you try to move into a better range she can do something else right after her last string and you WILL get hit for trying to get in.
Couple that with her zoning and she is just infuriating to try to deal with online.
The character is fine the way she is she doesn't need to be 9frame mid Liu Kang and Jacqui she's a zoner and the most annoying one i'd argue she's viable for what she's intended to be and nothing else.

Nah she isn't a zoning character....she is a neutral character with staggers and whiff punishing with zoning tools to compliment her.....but the zoning has slow start-ups and loses to sonya for example......but if you want to be the busted zoning character: Emerald defender jade.....shit Skarlet does not even have an air projectile unlike Sub, Cassie, Kabal, Kitana, Cetrion, PB noob, Liu, Sindel, Johnny, I'm probably missing a few others
I’m a skarlet main and as much as I love her. She NEEDs buffs. Those (thigh) gaps are very punishable. It hurts for me to say that. I agree with @trueunderdawggaming that she works on lower ranks cause a lot don’t know how to deal w the keep away. But on higher play, her damage is so not rewarding. And YES. She is slow af. Her frames need work. I mean they did buff bloodport but that doesn’t really “fix” her per se. And her armor breaker is the move that people rarely use... Not to mention her scythe overhead krushing blow... uhhh 18%? It’s so avoidable. Like please tell me there’s at least damage over time.
Jade's ex glow is not invincible. It is armored, but she takes increased damage on hit during it from physical attacks. Which makes things worst for her in my opinion.

they should have made scarlet a delayed attack hitter. i know this sounds ridiculous but imagine all her attacks drain blood and do 2.75x damage .2 seconds later breaking there block to start off a full combo. it owuld be a good buff so a slow character like her can still be useful in a game favoring fast mids low frame starts, low fram everything basically
Ppl forget though that the glow was 1 frame on start up, so basically instant recovery which was projectile immune and if done with a bar on wake up was also attack immune, so she actually had one of the best wake ups possible in a nrs game. Other than that though yes she wasn’t that great
The biggest problem with it wasn't even the bad duration it was the fact that a lot of things that were clearly projectiles were not considered projectiles by her shadow glow
