As a half-Classical pianist, when i played my first Debussy piece my fingers were so startled by the chordal and melodic movement that they didn't know what to do. I was just fumbling. It was like playing piano for the first time. And it took me so long to memorize the piece. Debussy started a different KIND of emotion.
1:46 - 2:10 Every single note in these chords is magic. Is like a paint where every little drop of ink is necessary to complete the beauty of the frame.
this part has the most boring harmony, the rolling chords section has a minor 9 that sounds great and i immediately start hearing the awesome harmony that could follow and then he goes back to something stale lol a jazz reharm of this piece would go hard
Who's here from Super Cub? Honestly, this piece is such a perfect song to match the mix of melancholy and happiness in the series, I'm glad they chose Debussy's pieces in the OST.

Debussy is one of the only composers that has the ability to make up so well for the piano's weaknesses. His compositions are so amazing because he makes such great use of the instrument's strong suits and produces music that is unique and suits solo piano better than anything else.
Abhik Mazumder you are so right, sometimes I find myself thinking "wow Reverie would sound beautiful in violin" but actually it wouldn't, the whole piece gets its uniquenes from the uniquenes instrumentation of the piano

The thing about these pieces is that there are so many ways to interpret them, even if there's already a title to the piece. But this song touches everybody in a different way. It's that mystery that I love about Debussy's pieces, and as @Brimboriions was talking about.
I haven\t played this for many years and so was consulted the score and was wondering about interpreting it afresh. I saw it is written in 3/4 but was relieved to hear the liberties in timing in this interpretation, which is like how I remembered it, which aids in giving this piece it's dreaminess.
2:15 that's an amazing consolidation of his interpretation and the nuances. Edit: I mean, in that moment he makes a huge piano in the melody, as well as at the bottom.

There is nothing about this price I dislike. The more intense parts make me feel sick but wearer it's good or bad I don't know. It makes me nervous yet relaxed, sad yet happy. Lonely but loving. I was completely unaware that merely a peice of music could have this affect on a person. It makes me feel deeply about each individual emotion I ever felt but blurs them so they all seem to be different parts of the same puzzle
