  • Lynyrd Skynyrd guitar chords and lead solo parts for Gimme Back My Bullets, a song not really about guns, but about getting the bullets back on the pop charts. Studio version pitch at about Ab but played as A chords on the guitar. This video does not tune down around the Ab, but is around standard 440Hz 'A' pitch as that is where their live versions are as well. A bit of a mystery to me how the recording came out lower, as the licks are clearly played on A on guitar. I talk a bit about it at the end of the video.

I finally a while back ago reclaimed a 61 SG Reissue. It was my 1st Guitar back in 70s. So glad i picked another one up. It really is versatile & sizzles.

Great choice of s song. Love the slides down the neck towards the machine head. Is that on the A string? First one is a couple of strings together? Too fast to tell. Thanks.

They stopped playing this song live because people kept throwing bullets at the stage

For a time, yes. People thought it was a gun rights song, but it’s actually about musical bullets on a chart.

@@googleusergp Ya, he was competitive about losing his spot on the charts. They only got to 20 on the Billboard 200 with this album which is ironically Ronnie’s 2nd worst performing album but still incredible

@@stephendeck2608 The lack of the third guitar (with the departure of Mr. King in 1975) I'm sure had something to do with it.
