- Everyone believes that an E2 prototype tank engine called Timothy was the engine that perish in the Viaduct between Maron and Cronk. However, it turns out it isn't true, so there's the question: Who's the Ghost Train of the Gap?. We're going to find out who was the engine that took the train and how the events during the accident happened and what happened afterward.
Warning, never take the subject of ghosts something funny.

This take on the original accident is honestly SO much better then Timothy's one.
Agreed, the backstory in that one just didn’t make sense to me.
Not only is Timothy not the ghost train, but he was in the story as an innocent engine. Nice. The ghost train on Ghost Train of the Gap is the ghost train in my canon. I’m doing an adaption of Ghost Train of the Gap in my series.

@@DevonLMS Well that’s not exactly my au. Timothy was created years after the accident. He was created in the 21st century so that there could be a good version of Timothy from the ghost train creepypasta.

And wait the truth is timothy had trouble puffing when he got to wellsworth station and another engine had to take his train as timothy was being repaired when lilly finished shunting timothy into a siding at the yards near the station

Timothy: Yes Thomas. That’s how the story came to be and the legend saids on the date of the fatal accident the engine and the spirits of its crew and passengers haunt the rails hoping to reach the other side of the bridge, so the souls of the ones lost can be at peace. I’m surprised that Percy never told you all the story since he left out many key details.
Thomas: Yeah. I always thought that story was just a story just to scare people, but when you told me that you knew the engine that had the crash I can’t believe it!
Timothy: For sure and I really didn’t know the engine that crashed very well no one at the time knew his name or anything. I just hope the past doesn’t come back cause it sometimes has a twisted sense of humor when you least expect it. And the date of the accident is coming up, so I hope Percy doesn’t meet the ghost engine or he’s in for a fright.
For those who are wondering the engine who took the plunge is a GWR 3901 Class 2-6-2T

That's probably because he fell off a cliff pulling a passenger train, killing his crew and everyone on board.

You know I've only just realized you're the same guy who made Day in the life of Timothy? Love your work, especially the ones without dialogue. They work really nicely and feel incredibly immersive, as does this one.
I never believed Timothy was the ghost engine. Nor do I believe it was a GWR Holden prototype, but that's a different discussion. This is one of the best takes on the ghost train story that I've ever seen. Rather than showing the crash outright as it happened, you instead only showed the aftermath, alluding to what happened and the horror that must have taken place. That's one of the things that made the show so iconic, in that rather than _showing_ things like ghost trains and what happened to them in the past, there is instead the _suggestion_ of the supernatural as a possibility, and that certain events may have actually happened. It builds up a mysterious aura around the subject in question that leaves a lasting impression, as does the story of the Ghost Train of the Gap, and that's exactly what you've captured. A somber, haunting and truly beautiful job you've done here. :) 👍

And Timothy went on to live a long productive life demon free and without committing the ultimate act but I think that night on what could have or would have been him would haunt him for the rest of his life,don't you?
Nice idea of not making timothy dying,that's a good ending for thomas,but not for the western engine.

an experimental gwr 2-6-2 tank engine i think , it's brakes were insufficent for passengers and was mostly on freight but i assume that engine was the only one not busy

So if it wasn’t Timothy the prototype E2 tank engine, then who was that engine from the great western railway that did plunge into the gap, I know ghost trains run as a warning to others but still no one knows who or what he is to be honest

The E2’s did have struggles pulling passengers and considering Timothy is a Prototype, his problems are much worse off then say the normal E2, they only hit a speed of like 50 I believe with normal passenger trains, and sucked at riding smoothly. This would make more sense that Timothy would be switched out, considering
A: he’s a prototype.
B: a lot of faults in him.
C: simply loosing too much steam in him due to neglect.
