I don’t own one but my two uncles bolth have cat eye duramax’s and my grate uncle had one and so I grew up around them 😂

We all know the cat eye is way better and will always age better. It's 10 years older than a 2013 and is already outliving it.
I’m old school I don’t need fancy trim or interior and all these fancy luxuries and wifi and this and that! Trucks are meant for WORK oh but now they are so pretty with lights and colored rims and tow mirrors you don’t tow with because you won’t get it dirty. Respect for the real work trucks out there 👊🏽
I like the older version a little more because it seems more rugged but I love both!
2013 duramax 3500 is my favorite truck so Im going with the '13 silverado
The flat top hats and Fox Racing shirts are 99% of the people in my school, but rather than a 2003 or newer chevy EVERYONE WANTS AN OBS.
They are very sought after trucks especially by the early truck enthusiasts. Tons of modification accessories to choose from, cheaper, fairly easy to work on and parts are everywhere!
I happen to have a 04 quad cab cat eye lifted on XD grenades and couldn't be happier.

Cat eyes for the win although I drive a 2012 Silverado. Also now that I've got the wheels and a six inch lift I need some coil overs. Gotta go find the videos you guys did on the rough country setup. Working on my first lifted truck I've ever owned so have made every mistake possible and have had quite a bit of fun watching my friends cringe when I break out the Sawzall. Have a good one guys.

Cat eye ALL DAY LONG. They were made before GM got bailed out from the government and they started making their vehicles so cheap they made a Ford product look good.
At the end of the day though, I got a 2002 Silverado 1500 LT2 with an LM7 5.3 motor and locking G80 rear differential. #SAVETHEROUNDBODY
Thomas Bertoch your 02 was before the bailout. Cat eyes however were not. Thus cheap ass steel and bad paint. Which is why cat eyes rot like an effin dodge.

AFM failure is the biggest issue in 07-13, lost cylider 7 in my 07 last week, dont have time to build the engine and at $4200 to fix i traded it in
The new ones aren’t any better. Just delete the afm

I think that's a big problem that there's too much to choose from and it really confuses the average person and then they don't know what to go with because they got put on the spot

I say the best truck that’s gonna look good in 50 years is the 2014 Silverado it’s symmetrical front end and I feel the future is gonna have a lots of sharp wonky angles and led strips front ends. And it’s clean.
I guess well have to wait an see what the future has in store for us!

Haven’t had a problem with my mud grapps throwing rocks but it seems like the a/t’s throw more bc the rocks get in the tread

I feel like the best years to buy a chevy truck is 1996-2006/07 classic, yes I know I'm crossing body styles and generation. But most real Chevy guys prefer cateyes over the 07-13 truck (that seemed to be designed from the gmt400's ugly w/t front end). Ive had a guy try to trade me his 2007 new style for my 2006
Real Chevy guys? The 07 -13 no offense was a improvement over the cateye. You have to admit gm is behind. If your going to say that the gmt900 cheaper in quality it does on some parts. But if your a supposedly “real Chevy guy” you know that the 99-02 was better built better than the 03-06. Overall the newer they get the more they break.

Cateye benefits: No emissions with diesel, better built interior, great looking front end, more detailed bodystyle, and no active fuel management causing issues.
07-13 benefits: nicer interior, more modern looking design, low-dash design is nicer, more features such as touchscreen stereo/nav/backup camera, and black leather interior option.
The interior of the 07-13 is no where near better in any way shape or form. Don’t know what you are smoking but that is the worst interior probably ever made. At least cheapest. I hated mine so much I sold it and just kept my Yukon and cateye. Haha plus like you said AFM is horrendous
@@greatguytravis7623 well for starters, heated steering wheel, cooled seats, and backup camera wasn't an option in the GMT800s, so that's a nice addition. If you're referring to the base model interiors, I agree. They're ugly as shit, but the higher end Denali/LTZ interior is nice. Good color options, layout, and wood trim addition.

Cat eyes are honestly just high school trucks now days. It’s nice being only one who has an 07-13 at my high school. Only thing wrong wirh the 07-13 is the rear wheel wells. Cat eyes have rocker issues. Honestly they are both great trucks just a fan of my 07-13 style so you could say I’m a little biased

My cat eye was very reliable. My ‘13 Sierra was full of problems. You could definitely see where GM cut corners during the recession/bailout years. The interior from 07-13 had the worst fit and finish I’ve ever seen and the metal on the body seemed paper thin with paint that would rust through in a few short years. I would love to own a 14-15 though. They remind me of the 90s OBS chevys.

07-13s are much better than cateyes (99-06) cateyes have a way to cheap feel in the inside and 07-13s are much more comfortable and better looking to me

I’d rather have a 99-02/01-02 body style than a cat eye, especially in the HD line. IMO it’s a much nicer, cleaner design that ties in better with GM’s classic look. I’d never want an 07-13 unless it was an HD with a 6.0 and super dirt cheap or free. The 5.3’s of that era were the WORST of the LS engines with the first generation AFM in them. In addition to that the 99-06 trucks had rocker and brake line rot issues on most but the 07-13’s had rocker, fender, bed side and brake line rust problems, super weak leaf springs on the 1500’s, and terrible interior materials and finish. The steering wheels start peeling in almost all of them, the seats (at least the cloth ones) would start splitting at the seams and the foam would go flat before 100k miles and the non chrome and wood grain door handles and arm rests would get sticky, filthy and gross early on as well.
Sadeye 4.8s are pretty bad ass
it depends on how you take care of it I got a 08 silverado 5.3 with 230,000 and still running good, I do agree on the dash though mine has all sorts of cracks in it
