I love your appreciation for the R/T. I have an R/T and it's phenomenal. Someone recently told me that the 5.7 and 3.6 are basically the same and I should have just got the 6.4 SRT if I wanted real power. 😂 I also have a 3.6 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it's not even close to the 5.7 R/T Durango. R/T has great performance, great sound, and reasonably good fuel mileage as well! An all around great package for the price.
Saying the 3.6 and 5.7 is the same...is like saying the 392 and the hellcat are the same

I have a 2016 Durango RT from new and it has been a great SUV and very reliable, I have a set of snow tires on rims for the winter here in Canada and it handles the ice and snow very well. I would buy it again no regrets.
@@JMV0711 I've got em both and 5.7 out performers the 3.6 in every day. The 3.6 is not just as good lol though I do enjoy the 3.6.
@@JMV0711 why do you even have a 5.7 then? Since you have both you should probably just get rid of that noisy and embarrassing V8 and stick with the V6's.

@Sox cylinder jeep I agree the step bar doesn't 'fit' the lines. A ground effect (think Rumblebee & Ram Daytona) would look soooo much better

As a RT owner, you'd have to be seriously midget to need those to get on and out of one... Those on looks alone are a hard pass.
@@highwayman1218 depends on who you are. Older people (in their 70s) I could see them having knee issues getting in. Then you go with an electronic running board that retracts up under solves the problem

Great video. Love the hemi Orange. We have a 2022 Durango RT plus in destroyer grey. It is an awesome drive and the exhaust sound is amazing. It has plenty of power and is overall a great SUV! It’s my new daily driver. The scat pack still sits in the garage most of the time.
The perfect family sedan and engine of choice.
That would be the best sensible SUV to get without being over ridiculous on horsepower. I like that package and the color also. Thanks Racer X for showing a good video of it. 😎👍

I wish they put the 5.7 in the Wrangler with the 6M. A buddy of mine has an older Durango with the 5.7 and loves it!
Great video, Racer X! The Durango? I suspect it will still be alive in the future, but powered with a Hurricane I6. Possibly HO options as well.
We had an RT Durango as a rental for a few days, so much comfort on this car, very nice ride for daily driving and space. Been trying to get the girlfriend to get into one since I got the same orange package but in a Scat Challenger 😁.

Can also add the tow and go package. Comes with orange Brembos and the srt exhaust and suspension.
Racer X good pick I like. The Dodge Durango get appreciation that should when comes sales. Dodge should be selling more of these. I would take one of these over a Toyota Highlander or Ford Explorer and doesn't have to be a R/T model either.
@6:06 that’s because my ‘16 Tahoe with chrome trim will run with this thing neck and neck. It looks meaner than it actually is. So people gravitate toward the higher trims.

I love my Hemi Orange Charger SPWB. I was disappointed at first that it was more of a squash color than orange, but it’s definitely grown on me. What I still don’t like is that the brake calipers don’t exactly match the stripe, badges, and stitching. But what’re ya gonna do.
Durango is the best!! SRT is best bang for you buck though!! Love the orange package!!

Sold my 6th gen GT to get the Mrs a SUV... I don't like anything SUV from anyone else and we got a Durango RT.. Its been a good vehicle and were still happy with it. The only downer is what I really wanted was the SRT package minus AWD. They didn't offer it, till a few years later when they offered the Durango with the tow package (which was basically a SRT in RWD). If I was to do it again, I'd of waited and got the Heavy Tow with 6.4 and Brembos.
I heard rumors that Dodge is going to keep this current Durango body style for another 13 years.
My wife loves her RT durango.
I'm glad I got the 5.7 at least I know I don't have to eat noodles and rice for the next 8 years

Traded in my 2017 r/t for 2023 R/T HO amd I'm in love. Soooo many more shiny things than my 2017 had. Now.. to figure out hoelw to get this Drag mode to work 😂
By the way my daughter has an AWD R/T Durango and loved it.
I picked up the 23 Durango R/T+ Black Top AWD for my wife. I like it a lot better than the Hemi Orange
I’ve always been a Fan of the SRT Durango! The Orange pkg isn’t for me:/. The step’s definitely need to hit something hard to give a really good reason to take ‘em the HELL OFF😂. Great upload once again brother👊🤘
I had a 2018 Durango rt blacktop and it was my favorite vehicle I’ve ever owned. I had to trade it for a Tesla because I drive so much for work but what a great vehicle. It’s muscular enough to keep you entertained while being SUPER comfortable and spacious.
@@MrMashman93 I do. Obviously I miss the space, sound and comfort I had with the Durango but the Tesla has proven to be a very good car. I put over 40k on it in the first year. Charging is very cheap compared to gas, and the only time it has been “annoying” was on a 1600 mile road trip. Teslas are a very good everyday workhorse. They’re fast as hell, they’re intuitive, practical and reliable for excessive amounts of driving. That being said, if you only have a 10-15 mile daily commute, I don’t think they are worth it.

Durango is the only SUV I'd even think about buying. When its gone, I doubt I'd look at another one ever.
I do like the orange package and when I ordered my 2021 Dodge Durango RT. It coast me $62,600.00 and I don't have orange package

I have a 2016 Durango R/T.....after 60K miles w/ no issues, I sold to Carvana....with a $44k sticker, red leather interior I sold her for $29K in 2021...wish I never sold her!!!!

I can’t remember the name right now, but a high ranking Dodge employee already said that the Dodge V8 will live in 2024, meaning that the Durango 5.7 and possibly even the 6.4 will live at least for another year.

T-N-G Hemi Orange Durango is the way to go comes with the orange calipers and everything SRT including exhaust except engine. Can you explain or find out why Dodge deleted the Fog lights and side mirror turn signals on the 2023 Hemi Orange Durango 🤔

Yeah, I was bummed about the fog lights on mine. I didn't notice that till after I bought it. I do have a parts list for all the parts to add them though. Parts are less than $1000

Mine has the orange Brembos, evidentally that is with the "tow n go" package......I did not know this when I bought it, just thought the brakes, track mode and active exhaust was better than the other one sitting there. Oh and AWD vs RWD, for just a $5000 difference. Glad I made that choice.
They're mopar running boards they came with my 2016 Durango Citadel
i still don't get why they made everything else kinda loud, accept for the 5.7 300S i like i had couple yrs ago. i was really dumbfounded when i went to test drive my 300S and there was absolutely no exhaust note, 100% quiet. i had to spend extra money to make it loud, with some Vibrant resonators/muffler delete.
IT’s their luxury car. That’s why.

Recently bought a 2023 Ford Explorer Timberline for under $50k. I think Dodge has just been missing the mark with their 2023 lineup and how much more expensive they are than the competition.
It should have orange calibers.
Brakes calipers should been paint in orange too
You would have to option it with the tow n go package to get Brembo breaks in orange with the srt wheels something I’m thinking about buying hopefully

Tim at dodge said 2024 the Durango will still have the 5.7 and 6.4, just no hellcat in the Durango for 2024
So wait rt hemi orange Durango no brembos but hemi orange charger gt has brembos
Tow N Go option gets the orange brembos, SRT wheels, track mode....etc etc.

Hell yeah! I have a 2021 Durango RT, Tow N Go which is all SRT except the engine. Check out my channel for mods I've done already. Next is Eibach springs and a 3.0 Whipple! 🏁🏁

Those step bars SUCK! They don’t go on a Durango. It’s not that high anyway. My dad has owned a couple R/T’s and they are very nice. The interior isn’t as fancy as others but it handles great and sounds great with the HEMI 😎
Nice vehicle but fuel economy sucks. Gas prices being what they are they are just too expensive for daily rides.

Love your videos. I like the durango but on this one those stripes should go bumper to bumper. Those running board's have got to go, they look stupid on the durango and have no use.
