We are really fortunate to have the Lincoln Project in this fight. I’m a lifelong Democrat. In fact a more left leaning one. And the Lincoln Project has been my heroes this past year. The Democrats were always going to oppose Trump. But the Lincoln Project went after the hearts and minds of Republicans open minded enough to listen. As the majority of them are former Republican operatives they have the instincts to fight tough in a way that Democrats are often criticized for not doing. They allowed Joe Biden to stay on message, while they went after Donald Trump like attack dogs. I think they made a big difference. And they are continuing to do so.

The criticism being that the LP is taking donor money away from what otherwise would have been donated to progressive pacs. Anyways, some study was released by a progressive think-tank or research group that stated the Lincoln Project was not very effective in the 2020 election. Steve Schmidt remarked on their effectiveness on Amanpour and Co a month or two ago. I like aoc but Schmidt's arguments were too eloquent to be denied. I strongly recommend checking out the interview.
@@parkyayak Keep in mind that Schmidt is a Republican and if they are successful they will try to bring Republican ideals that help corporations and ignore average people. I like the Lincoln Project but I never forget their ultimate goal. They fight trump and his followers with a lot of dedication because the rump followers have taken away the principles the Republican party used to run on, but I still disagree with many of those older principles. AOC is right in that this does take away from progressive causes and gives them to a future opponent but sometimes the immediate threat is more important than the long term term threat. The thing is to accept that if you have more points of view in your party you are representing a bigger segment of America. I like that we have disagreement and while that lock step mentality helps the Republicans when voting it limits their constituency. AOC always argues to help those people who are the least able to buy government influence for their causes as well as exposing government hypocrisy and I have mad respect for her because she is genuine and consistent in her outlook.

The criticism being that the LP is taking donor money away from what otherwise would have been donated to progressive pacs. Anyways, some study was released by a progressive think-tank or research group that stated the Lincoln Project was not very effective in the 2020 election. Steve Schmidt remarked on their effectiveness on Amanpour and Co a month or two ago. I like aoc but Schmidt's arguments were too eloquent to be denied. I strongly recommend checking out the interview.

@@parkyayak Keep in mind that Schmidt is a Republican and if they are successful they will try to bring Republican ideals that help corporations and ignore average people. I like the Lincoln Project but I never forget their ultimate goal. They fight trump and his followers with a lot of dedication because the rump followers have taken away the principles the Republican party used to run on, but I still disagree with many of those older principles. AOC is right in that this does take away from progressive causes and gives them to a future opponent but sometimes the immediate threat is more important than the long term term threat. The thing is to accept that if you have more points of view in your party you are representing a bigger segment of America. I like that we have disagreement and while that lock step mentality helps the Republicans when voting it limits their constituency. AOC always argues to help those people who are the least able to buy government influence for their causes as well as exposing government hypocrisy and I have mad respect for her because she is genuine and consistent in her outlook.
