- Imagine a world with no traffic, no one had to honk, and everyone followed the right of way.
... Anyways onto more realistic things like getting cut off, blocking oncoming traffic, almost hitting pedestrians, and of course good old LA traffic moving at a snarling pace.
This month certainly didn't fail to produce a much of great clips aka awful drivers. I feel like I always go into the end of the month unsure if I even had that many things happen. Then I re-watch everything and get angry and upset, and then have to take a breath or five to remind myself this is good content. Do you guys think it was a good month of content? LMK. I'm so numb to all the crazy driving in LA that sometimes I forget it's not normal elsewhere. Right? Or is this completely normal and I'm just crazy.

California was self-sufficient for oil for most of the 20th century but that's run out and now there's no infrastructure to bring it from the East and Gulf coasts where most of the refineries are.
I don't know exactly how voluminous the oil wells are, but there is a plethora of oil fields in the southern Central Valley around the Bakersfield area that are still producing oil for this state, albeit steadily declining. As of 2018, California is number 6 in the US for oil production and as of 2017, we produced 173 million barrels. But we're getting 33,000 less barrels per day each passing year roughly. We've only been able to continue pumping oil out of the fields because of newer technology and techniques for extracting it.
Lots of stations like that have prices of $4 and higher, luckily theres usually one around the corner that's much cheaper

I live in LA too and have a dashcam. Guess I'm so conditioned to the driving here that all of these clips seemed normal. Blocking intersections and being overall jackasses. Just in the past 12 hours I had 4 people use the right turn lane to go straight and blow by traffic waiting at the light. Maybe I should start pulling clips from my cam as well.
I've thought the same thing.... 3 cars turning left on a yellow/red light is normal, pretty my 90% of the clips are normal for LA....

Mark Trankle Damn dude. I can’t even begin to imagine how much of a struggle that is. I live in Atlanta, GA and I thought our traffic was bad, but I can still usually find a good time to go out somewhere. Do you just not even try to go out some nights or do you try to fight the traffic and do your best to have a night out???
I get out all the time, you just learn to live with it.

Mark Trankle Ah that makes sense, I figured that you would just learn get used to get kind of traffic. And yeah Atlanta traffic is nothing compared to L.A. traffic, but at the peak of the Atlanta rush hour traffic, it can be pretty bad on the downtown connector (The 75/85). But other than that Atlanta traffic is pretty much nothing.
I remember a few months ago though when I visited the Southern California area and drove around that I really underestimated how bad the traffic could be... I was driving down from LAX to visit a friend who goes to UC Irvine and I was blown away by how much of a parking lot the 405 could be... Once I was out of Los Angeles County and into Orange County it wasn’t too bad. But I must say that there’s a lot of lead foot drivers over there in the Southern California area like jeez Lmao. Like I’m used to going about 80 to 85 M.P.H. in a 55 M.P.H. Limit and I was still getting passed by a good number of cars.. then when the limit started going up to 65 M.P.H. I said fuck it and pushed my car to about 90 to 95 M.P.H. and I was just “keeping up” with some of the lead foot drivers. And I still got passed by a few cars when I was already going that fast.. It also seemed that the cops down in Southern California really aren’t that strict on speed enforcement, so it kinda felt like everyone out there just says “Fuck it” and hauls ass on the freeways, but that could just be me lol.

I have been living in LA for almost 6 years and yeah people are insane. The other day I was so surprised when a guy actually slow down a bit to let me switch lane on the freeway. Made my day!

My wife’s a teacher here in LA.. just yesterday she was saying the same thing about the increase in traffic since school started... I need to get her a dash cam cuz she comes home with the craziest traffic stories all the time... great video man...
2:37 My sister recently got hit in that same intersection and the same thing happen. Guy with Georgia plates at like 10pm at night hit her. Offered her $500 (obviously showing his fault) which she said no to. Then the next day blamed it on her and tried changing the story so like she hit him which it even possible since the damage was on his right side of the car which made it was word vs word. Luckily insurance paided for it last minute. She doesn’t have a dashcam which shows right here why it should be on every car.

7:01 sometimes tow trucks are responding to an emergency but don't have sirens because of laws and stuff, that might be why they are riding the shoulder

HERE'S MY CRAZY EXPERIENCE AKA ROAD RAGE AKA ATTEMPTED MURDER: I was driving on colima in Rowland heights and if anything colima is known for is traffic 24/7 365. I was turning right on a green arrow, saw this guy in a beige toyota truck in front of me waiting to turn left but before I even drive by, he turns left cutting me off so I honked at him. Even though he had tinted windows and was wearing black shades, I could sense the evil eye because he turned his head and looked at me. next thing I know he drives on my left (first lane) EXTREMELY close like our cars were touching, I tried to shake him off and next thing I know, I hit a freeway entrance sign. Me and my car were ok. He than proceeds to get on the freeway never to be seen by me again. whoever says Korea (hyundai) doesn't make good cars, never drove a Hyundai. not that race has anything to do with it but the guy was Hispanic. beige toyota truck, semi tinted windows, white T and black shades. thank god I didn't go fast after i turned or I would have hit him but it would be his fault because you don't cut off people in a straight one way lane like that. such entitlement!

Is anyone else noticing more and more people are just blowing through stop signs? Every day driving to and from work I see some idiot hardly even slow down at a stop sign, sometimes cutting like 10 feet in front of me when there's no one behind me. The best part is they recklessly cut in front of you then drive like their engine is dying.
This LA traffic looks very much like in Brussels... But the lower you go in Europe, the worse it gets. Paris would be a nightmare for you, and Rome absolute hell. However, German drivers are quite disciplined, as are the Swiss in the German speaking parts, but (French speaking) Geneva is like France. But big cities are usually a jungle... You should travel more, and experience will make you more resigned. Guaranteed! BTW, you don't have to go as far as Europe, go to Montreal, or Mexico... Have fun!

These drivers are terrible. There’s drives like this everywhere but LA seems to have disproportionately high number of momo’s behind the wheel. I’m guessing Cali gives a drivers license to any momo that wants one...
I hate it when people try to cut in like at 6:12 without using their blinker. Happened to me yesterday, he made a gesture so I mocked him and had to roll down my window to give him a nice "warning." Good thing I was armed that day.

I wonder what drivers in LA would be like if the Yellow and Red cars were still around (the Los Angeles Railway, an urban tramway, and the Pacific Electric, a suburban/interurban tramway), especially if they stopped in the middle of the street every few blocks. Especially drivers who either don’t drive in LA much or are completely new drivers to LA.
