Update: thank you for all your kind messages. Its nearly a year on and the pain is still raw. 💔 but I'm pregnant with my first child, a baby girl and my due date is on my dad's birthday in December. He's sent me a little angel. It's bittersweet as he won't get to watch her grow but I know he will be there in spirit. Xx

I remember i used to sing this song to my mum during the summer of the year she got ill. Unfortunately because of her disease she couldn’t speak anymore, among many other things… it’s funny because the lyrics say “maybe i don’t really wanna know how your garden grows” and we have a garden that my mum used to take care of, sometimes i helped her in doing it.
About a year after she passed away i randomly saw a video on youtube, “Liam Gallagher vs. cute kids” where Liam said that this is a nice song to sing for his mother…
Mum i really wish you and I could live forever, like the lyrics say. I will always love you and I miss you a lot. Rest in peace, i’m sure one day i’ll see you again e we will really live again, together and forever.

I don't think there will be another band like Oasis, that era of music was something else, true greatness
When you stick on a good set of headphones and really listen to all the layered guitars in this track, among everything else, the genius lyrics, one of the best solo's ever recorded, simple but fat bassline, boneheads rhythm parts holding the mix where Noel's lead parts come in, the drum sound, then Liam's perfect vocal take(s). This song's up there with the absolute best ever written, without any shadow of a doubt.

thats the same with any oasis song in their prime, just pure emotion out of every instrument.
Calling any Oasis solo the "best solo ever" is just absolutely wrong on so many levels but you're right about everything else. Definitely Maybe is one of my favourite album mixes of all time, the layered guitars do sound absolutely huge.

Some songs are just different man. Anyone else have that one song that fills you with joy and never seems to dull no matter how many times you’ve listened to it? That’s this song for me. Whether I’m happy or I’m sad, I stick my headphones in and play this and it always elevates my mood. Every single time. This is my song. Live forever.
Noel said after he wrote this song he knew it was a gamechanger, their life's would never be the same again with the realization they were going to be much more than just another good indie band.

Yea this song is so comforting to me especially in the lyrics "maybe your the same as me, we'll see things they'll never see you and I are gonna live forever" that lyric is so comforting to me because its like its not just me going through it.
Yup this is my song. No matter how sad or angry or overwhelmed I am having a cup of tea and listening to live forever calms me down.
