Hi Sir I have ford ranger 2004 model If I shift to 3rd gear the shifting lever It releases and goes back to neutral position. What is the possible cause of this issue? Thank you

Hi john, most of the time causes the 3rd gear jump back to neutral is the no. 1 selector fork no. 2 is the 3rd gear it self must be replace syncro is not the cause of the issue but you also need to replace. if the selector fork is not worned you don't need to replace with a new one

to the side of the transmission is the filling plug and the drain will be at the end of the transmission case close to the front end of the transfercas where both are joint together. you can see the drain plug. thanks.
