Hey, next time take hwy 1 off the 101 north near gaviota beach...it says to lompoc...on that drive there is a cut off to jalama beach state park ...its a 14 mile drive to the ocean but you won't regret it...gorgeous beach and camping on the beach...😊❤❤

Omg Security Cat!!!!! So cute. Also, saved all those restaurants. I went to Pismo in 2010 for a work conference but Adam has never been. It's such a neat spot. On our list for sure. I'd say you did a great job with the wildlife captures 😉

Spot whales January to about may ❤...we saw one breach while sitting on the beach at Ocean Park in Lompoc....in January and February its also breeding grounds for pelicans, so many youngins😂

Really cool stops along this trip! (Well, except maybe Chewing Gum Alley... yeesh). Other than that, weird can be good, like the Madonna Inn. Jed, are you sure that was the waterfall splashing your ankles? Nice that you managed to get some wildlife on cam. Only thing cooler about Security Cat would've been if he rode around on a little Segway scooter. Oh, the seafood! Verrry appetizing. Made me so hungry, so I have to check... I think we have some fish sticks in the freezer. Thanks for sharing, I'll have to check out Atlas Obscura, because that sounds like it's right in my weird wheelhouse. Safe travels! -Burt in NJ

Great video. We were RVING in pismo beach last September. That's when we saw whales a few hundred yards from the shore. Not sure where you're at on your travels, mackerricher state park in fort bragg is right on the ocean. Just was there this April. Thanks Don

Oceano to Hearst Castle campgrounds and other parking features are patrolled by 2 very aggressive Calif Park Rangers / cops.....Ranger " K " And " B . E " they write tickets for the money because they know a 93 buck BS ticket will cost you 235 bucks if you are back home and just want to pay the fine... They have been told time and time again by their Boss to knock it off but they will not...They even go in hours before their shift to write tickets like they did to me and even others that work at the parks .....Ranger " B.E " was 2 hours early for his 7 am shift...watched me drive into the Morro Bay campground pulled up behind me so I stopped he ran my license for 15 mins then wrote me a BS ticket for non payment of camping fees ! Court date is 4 months off they hope you just go home then pay because you don't want to drive back here....Be careful I would video everything you do in these parks...especially when in contact with any staff there....
