I don´t understand how Aprilia thinks their system is any different than Suzuki´s design. If I am Suzuki I am already suing for patent infringement. This should get interesting during the next few months.
I have a 600cc bike with over 110hp. Scared the living daylights out of me when I first bought it. Now, it feels so slow it is painful. My friend has a Kawasaki ZZR1400 with 208hp. That scared the crap out of me as well until I got used to it. Motorcycle riders will all tell you that one gets used to everything quickly. Besides, I want to ride a bike that will scare the Christ out of me from time to time. The manufacturers know this and that is why these beasts will always sell.
To be honest there's no point in having a 200+ bhp bike for riding on the road. But at the end of the day these superbikes are just toys for adult children. So why not make them as much fun as possible? And I do believe that the power is a great contributing factor to that fun.

What do I think? Whenever I see a >200 HP rating on a motorcycle, I think it's lunacy. What is the point?

I like strong acceleration, but for me, it was always about mountain roads and how well the bike corners.
