You know, what I like about One Piece are the parallels Oda make with real world. The way he set the world to the final war, with the whole world order in complete haywire is pretty similar to how the real world is right now. The old order doesn't fit for the countries that are emerging. Countries like USA, UK, and the powerhouses of Europe are losing ground to emerging ones. Slowly, but surely. Just like the four emperors got taken down.
They're not even the real power of the world. IMU allowed it.

During their iconic fight in Enies Lobby, Lucci was constantly talking smack about how he thought Luffy wouldn't stand a chance. Now Lucci made it to CP0 and awakened his leopard DF... and yet he still gets completely humbled by Gear 5th Luffy who obviously didn't go all-out. At least Lucci didn't get beat so bad that he needs surgery again, like the last time Luffy kicked his ass lmao.

fast forward to now, they did the beginning of this fight JUSTICE! Man, luffy's transformation to Vegapunk's explaining of DF's and knowledge of Nika, to how well they animated Lucci and Luffy fighting with homages on the 17th anniversary of their original fight. this was all beautifully done and im here for every minute of it, what a time to be an anime fan
Now that luffy is a yonko the government has no choice but to take any action he takes super seriously because of the power and influence he has. All throughout the series we’ve seen how not normal it is for any yonko to make any move of any kind because they all kinda just stay in their own territories but luffy is just like roger was going from place to place making big waves in the news constantly so the series is definitely taking a huge dramatic shift at this point now that the straw hats have the status they do.
We’re basically seeing what roger was doing in luffys life 😂
This is kind of weird to say but I was so happy that Luffy just completely outclassed Lucci here. I would have hated to see Lucci fight well with an emperor of the sea with an awakened god tier devil fruit. Lucci is definitely waaaaaaay stronger than he was back in cp9 and even amongst the cp0 he is probably top class, but he didn't even come close in this fight and I was glad to see that. Luffy even threw in some humor with the spinning lmao and still destroyed him.
In the anime luffy is probably going to struggle, because they stretch out everything as much as they can, which sucks

He probably is stronger than katakuri, considering that he could take a few hit from G5, whereas a gear 4 luffy was one shot by base kaido when he was drunk (and at this point, g4 luffy was at least as strong as katakuri). I'm not sure if he is stronger than king, considering that zoro didn’t seem to struggle as much against him (he use 3 katakana during the whole fight, and lucci could hold his own, but still). So he is still really strong, but against a yonko... Yeah no

I can understand Teach who never really had a long dialogue with Luffy. But in Thriller Bark it is said that Sanji has read the encyclopedia of fruits, and that he is practically an expert on it. And I wonder how? How could he not be aware that the gomu-gomu was not represented or described anywhere?
Since there are so many devil fruits it is possible that the book didn't include every single devil fruit or that it has yet to be discovered before the book was published. Also you have to keep in mind that the world government won't let certain devil fruits be known to the world so the probably re-label some of the fruits. Vegapunk has books that were probably as old as the void century so he has knowledge that normal civilians don't.
And that's exactly why he's now hunted by the WG
vegapunk later stated that issue, the gomu gomu no mi original was covered to hide it true origins. there is no devil fruit called the gomu gomu no mi so the world government could his is true abilitys as its powers of joyboy/nika

Half? I would say he's nearly Kaido in term of devil fruit power and more than half in term of physical power. About the devil fruit endurance power is probably nowhere near Kaido. Kaido can put up multiple fights in his half human, half dragon forms, meanwhile Luffy..... a little bit disappointed of an Emperor.

11:00 the side effects of gear 5 making him look all withered and old, combined with the notion that gear 2 drains his life force, and gear 4 does that even more, all goes to convince me that luffy's end will be similar to gol. d. roger.'s... he'll drain his life force to the point of either developing an incurable disease, or give every last bit of his life force to defeat Im-sama, who will most likely be the final enemy of the story ( i think blackbeard will be the final enemy of his "becoming the king of the pirates" journey, and Im-sama will be the final enemy of all the good guys, meaning the revolutionary army joining luffy and all the allies he's made through his journey to attack marijoa)...in both cases he will die very young just a few years from now, but he will have become a legend and he'll have freed the world from a dark, evil power that had ruled it for the past 800 years, thus becoming an even greater legend than joyboy or roger themselves.
I have a feeling that awakening the devil fruit, especially a devil fruit this coveted actually gets rid of all the drawbacks of the other gears. It's just a representation of how draining the form is at the moment.
I just hope it doesn't get powercrept eventually

I assume they gain similar attributes to an awakened zoan being their natural element can be cast onto inanimate things and in some cases even people and then you got the forms I’m sure they transform to something cool like how Enel had that one lighting thing with the sash but what makes them different from zoan is that they are still lintangeable so maybe that effect will be cast onto whatever they cast the devil fruit ability onto? Idk, maybe a logia is already awakened and you literally need to have a better imagination in order to do more like just break imaginary boundaries trying to accomplish your imagination in real time simply.

Speaking of Awakenings:
I think Kaido is definitely awakened, but we just didn't get to see it.
I don't believe Kaido nor Big Mom are dead and we will see them again. I actually hope we do because we could still use those characters to expand the world and develop other characters. I don't think we've seen either of them truly go all out.
Kaido carrying Onigashima obviously took energy as it was used as an indicator of his own status as the battle progressed. I think those clouds, had he not been carrying the island, would be wrapped around him just like Luffy and Lucci and Yamato's shrouds. This actually fits into Kaido's character where he holds back to make the fight better for himself. Fighting a war while hoisting an entire island through the air is right on the money.
This is just me hoping we get to see them have some 1v1's in some big tournament later where we get a consecutive gauntlet of brolic fights.

Based on how strong Luffy gets in g4 with just CoA. G5 with just CoA is probably about a step up from that. Some people call it yc+ or low yonko/admiral level. Considering Lucci is strong enough to clash but not really able to fight he's probably at least in the yc1 area. Maybe Lucci is higher but it seems Luffy has a decent advantage with his futuresight.
G5 luffy is basically Aizen Sosuke since his fruit allows his desires to manifest 💀
It doesn't work like that. G5 is not a physical boost like G4. G5 is more like a whole other being. It enhances Luffy's ability traits to the max but not physical traits. Still, Luffy can change the size of any of his body parts on a whim. But, he didn't do it because he doesn't need it.

@@blacklegsanji4779 Then Lucci is nothing, since Luffy's base physicality & CoA were barely stronger than Ulti, granted that was her main trait beyond durability. So there would need to be a drastic ability buff, since Lucci could awaken, which we've only seen from upper level commanders. Also part of a Zoan user's physicality comes from their df so an awakening would indeed buff it.
