Why is A24 so good at making movies? And what makes a good A24 movie?
In this video essay, we will talk about why A24 movies look like that, the history of A24, why filmmakers love working with A24, why A24 movies all feel the same (but different at the same time), explain how A24 saves money while making movies, along with the passion A24 puts into their merch.
A24 has been making the best movies of the century so far for a while now. If you don’t know much about A24, they might have made one of your favorite movies of all time. like Hereditary, Moonlight, Midsommar, The Lighthouse, Lady Bird, Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, Ex-Machina, Past Lives, Uncut Gems, The Florida Project, and even the HBO hit Euphoria. They have launched the directing careers of filmmakers like Ari Aster, Greta Gerwig, and Robert Eggers, and with Alex Garland’s Civil War being their most expensive film to date, I decided to make a video essay dissecting why we love A24 as much as we do!

Well I am a fellow A24 fan! I’ve come to this realization about a year ago I guess? Hereditary is hands down and blows The Exorcist out of the water, horrifying. I didn’t realize until now that was A24. Love them more but fav is too hard…Everything Everywhere All at Once I just rewatched and cried again! But The Killing of a Sacred Dear! That could just be a Lanthimos thing. Anywho great video!
I love The Exorcist....but I think I agree with you, Hereditary is just a different level of evil. I've only seen it once but I also thought Killing of a Sacred Deer was great, very underrated it seems like! I appreciate the comment!
