    If you're looking for an alternative to VLC player, you may try Free WinX Video Converter here: bit.ly/3qnDipx It can convert videos to/from MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, MP3 and more with just 3 steps (load video→choose target format→convert). You can also customize bitrate, frame rate, aspect ratio, resolution, audio codec and etc. Compared with VLC, no additional plugins/downloads are needed. Your choice to try it out.

      What conversion did it do, since you started with MP4? I got here looking to change WMV to MP4. I did the selections you showed and ended with WMV, just with a smaller file. I need to end with MP4 for an editing program I have, so no joy.

      @@cliffmeier5667 I'm opening it now to check. When you first select convert and save it gives you the option of different preset profiles to start from. In the parentheses on the right hand side of each one of the options listed in the pull down menu, it tells you what it's going to give you. The first option should give you an MP4 file unless something's messed up with it

    Will this programme cope with videos I have taken off 'CZcams' and convert them, so that they can then be burnt to a DVD-R using ImgBurn, so that the disc can be played on a domestic DVD player. I have been told that DVD Flick will do this, but I wanted to check out other options. I did try VLC but got unsupported format come up on the screen when I tried to play the disc, which means I either got it wrong or VLC won't do it?

    • @ChupacabraTutorials

      There's a whole host of video converters you can get for free. You can also find some right on the windows store directly. I think Handbrake (A Program I used to use to RIP DVDs to my computer years and years ago) also converts a whole host of videos from MKV to Mp4. Free.

    Hi, I have an old JVC camcorder and the videos are saved as CED files so I can't open them, I tried using VLC to convert them but it would not work does anyone have any advice on how I could download them?

    • @ChupacabraTutorials
      @ChupacabraTutorials  Před 2 měsíci

      Generally when I have a funny older video type. I just google for a video converter that can convert it. Depending on the type theres a good chance there's a couple out there that can do the trick. When I google CED Video converter I see 2 results at the top of the search. Ive not tried either of those converters before, so if you do decide to try them, you'll have to make your own call on how legit they look.
      If you cant get a video converter specifically for that to work. A lot of camcorders have the same kinda outputs that plug into a TV. You can buy little capture card kits that are designed to let you convert old camcorder footage to mp4. They are typically meant for converting old VHS videos on a VHS player, but many of them also support camcorder capture.

    • @ChupacabraTutorials

      You'd need a dedicated video converter. Either a free one thats open source, or a paid one. Its slow via VLC because its not a primary function of the software. More of a secondary perk.

    • @ChupacabraTutorials
      @ChupacabraTutorials  Před 3 lety

      It's always a smart idea to be skeptical of the software you download. Especially when its recommended by some random guy on youtube. Because even if that person themselves dont have the goal of giving you a virus. That doesnt mean they didnt give themselves one, and by extension, you.
      In this case. You can give VLC a google. Which will likely even have its own wikipedia entry these days explaining what they are, what they do, and who created it. If it was a different piece of software from what looks like a legit company, there's often reviews and additional information about that company if you google them, which will tell you how legitimate they are or arent.
      Always pays to do a little extra searching around for info if you feel something might be sketchy. Always trust that feeling, the worst that could happen is you verify its suspect, and don't download it, possibly saving you having to fix your computer.
