- In this video, my pal Henry and I are fishing behind a massive spillway, in texas! We are using swimbaits to try to entice these monster alligator gar to strike! We find a ton of willing fish, and one of them is a real monster that jumps out of the water a few times!
Gear used: KastKing Royale Legend 200 reel, Kastking Speed Demon Pro Carolina Rig rod!

Ty as always if there is a giant fish in the water it ends up on the end of your line. You are the goat of the fishermen on youtube .The Best .Please keep em coming I enjoy them so much
Bro you are making the best YT fishing content. I'm a pretty avid viewer of YT fishing channels. You really should have way more views and members. You are doing good but your content is 🔥. Really you are living the dream, this stuff is fun wish more youngsters could get exposed! Keep it up
Absolutely fantastic

Awesome content Ty. Those gar are such a cool fish. I only have long nose here, but always enjoy the fight when I get one. I don't know how people can call those trash fish.

Great fish guys
What an unreal day. This is got to be near the top of fishing. Giant fish eating huge lures and so many too. Just amazing
What a day. I would love to go gar fishing with swim baits. More fun for all concerned. Keep your videos coming, I love to watch them.
What amazing fish they are and what a fight they give you! A great day out on the water 😁
Ooooo-weeeee Ty-man 🤘🤙🏻✌🏻
GREAT FISH!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome video bro
Nice !!!!!
Epic day of fishing.
Your Being Watch 😂
👍🐿👍
I kinda wish states would protect these giants a lot better. Like no bow hunting and a limit of some sort...I just love them. I probably live as far away from Gar as you can get. Great Video and amazing fish as always!
there are limits, you can only harvest 1 with a bow or one with a rod and reel in TX, some places even have a draw tag. Also anglers kill just as many, many that are caught with hook and line they swallow the hooks down into their belly and throat and will kill the fish. So yes there are plenty of regulations out there already.
A fish swallowing a hook is not a death sentence. I caught a 41 inch Muskie on a live bait a few years ago and released it with the hook still down in its throat. A few weeks later my buddy caught the same fish in the same spot and there was no sign of my hook in its throat. He unfortunately kept the fish due to a (bogus) catch and kill derby ongoing that weekend. We cut open it’s stomach and the hook wasn’t there either.
@@shanelizotte6318 it might not have at point but hooks in the throat and gills can kill fish it happens all the time, I have caught fish deep and could not release them due too bleeding, thats why the circle was invented too help with mortality of deep hooked fish.
@@cowboybowfishingoutdoors5013we have no limits here in Louisiana unfortunately
I bet there are a lot more of them there than you think
Nice gars!
Cool video Ty!! And I think it's a good thing using strong line to catch huge toothy fish otherwise you risk breaking off a big hook or lure and that fish has to live with it for a couple months or die if it's mouth is hooked shut. So 50lb braid isnt a bad thing IMHO 😊
P.S. I hadn't even gotten to 7:30 when I made this comment and that's exactly what I was talking about....
P.P.S. Always enjoy the slow-mo and replays cause Id have to do it myself otherwise LOL thanks Ty!!!
Man I got to come down there and do some fishing up here in the north we only got the muskies in the Northerns they don't get quite that big I've got some 4 1/2 ft muskie Houghton Lake St Clair but I mean you guys are catching 5 Footers one after another
You never ciest to impress I hope one day we can make a colab
FIRST?
Nuts as always! Do you retie the leaders often for Gar or are the leaders you use pretty durable?
He’s pretty much using rope 😂
Thats what I thought it might be ha ha @@TopWaterLord
I agree with you I love fish but especially endangered specise thanks for that comment
Yea Boy I hear Monster fish and I gotta Click!
he ain't never posted a video titled "i caught dinks all day". hahahaha
What hell kinda of leader are you using?
Am surprised you're not hooking into any blues/flatheads there
I know, early in the season we had a few 20 lb blues hit the swimbaits!
Try using the swim bait that looks like a rainbow trout
I remember this place.
💜🎣
TY them was some beautiful Gars
👍😎
My 60 pounder was a Sears road handler
God Almighty at how many fish you caught
Don't feel bad about 50lb. Braid, I use 65lb. Braid below dams I have seen 100lb. Fish come out of the waters I use to fish, below nickajack dam in Tennessee
Boy,if I was anchored anywhere near that buoy in any lake or river around here I'd have already gotten a Whopper of a ticket if they didn't impound my boat and gear
A big live shad under a balloon wouldn’t last 2 minutes thrown into that river. I catch a lot of long nosed gar at night under lights and in the early spring into summer on big live bluegill on the lake here.
and 12 to 17 on 50 pluss fish and most peapole that fish be for braid
🔝👍🏻😉👊🏻
Hey buddy
Hey Ty ! watch your fingers
Ty if you see this I love your vids bro and I would really really appreciate it if you said happy birthday or gave a me a shout out😊
7:37 is the fish
Holy smokes normally He’s fishing videos produced one maybe two good fish I’m curious what is the population of those things in that body of water?
Kind of terrifying if you think about it 😅
Ah man a gar….
