For anyone who doesn't know why the doctor's have to spank the baby they have to do it to get the baby to breathe. When they first come out they aren't used to anything including temperature, humidity, and other things. They have been breathing through the umbilical cord so they don't know how to use their lungs so in turn the doctor or someone else will spank them so they take their first breath. This isn't always the case thought and it's not always needed. But I would say that the baby was definitely spanked too hard in the game-
