Thank you SO much for this video. You made this task very easy for me. I thought my new Delta shower head was just low quality, low water flow.....I had to wash my hair under the kitchen faucet because of this. And I did not enjoy taking a shower because it felt like standing under a flower watering can. I was about to uninstall it and buy a more expensive model (which would probably have the same water restrictor) until I discovered your video. Now, I love my shower! Kind sir, you just saved me at least $80 for a replacement and the pain of uninstalling and reinstalling another more expensive shower head!!! GBY! ☺☺☺

I just moved into a new place and was about to go complain to my landlord about how terrible the shower was.
Then I found this amazing, lovely video of yours.
You are amazing. You have made my day, my week, and most definitely changed my life.
Thank you so, SO MUCH. I will forever be so so grateful to you, kind sir.

Thanks so much for this. I have a new DELTA shower head with a two part removable head. The restrictor was glued in so I poked a hole in the center of it because I could not pull it out and then reamed out the rest of the plastic. Now I have awesome water flow!!!!!!! I didn’t tell my husband what I did and I can’t wait until he jumps in the shower and begins complaining, as usual about a pretty shower that’s worthless. Boy will he be surprised! Thanks a million!

Thanks! It's sooo simple and it turns into a fire hose. I remember decades ago watching them pass laws restricting water flow with showers and toilets.. While they had private jets and such.. Too bad there's always a workaround to their schemes.

I did this tonight on my brand X shower head, my problem was, the restrictor was glued in, so I very carefully, and I do mean you need to be very careful so you don't hurt yourself, drilled the center portion out. Be sure to hold back once your through or you may damage something inside. I was willing to possibly destroy this shower head in order to get some better pressure out of it and thankfully drilling mine out worked just fine. Great video UncleBen TV! I enjoyed your video!

This technique didn't work for me; I only succeeded in tearing off all four of those little vertical tabs that were gripped by the pliers without budging the restrictor. Similar to what another commenter did, I then took a sharp serrated steak knife and cut all around the inter disk (the part that had the tabs on it) and it just fell out. That definitely increased the flow. I suppose I could improve things more if I had a way to cut out the remaining outer blue ring but don't have a knife that's up to the task. Still, this video helped me by positively identifying the restrictor from among all the other little doo-hickeys that are stuck into the various connections on the shower head. So thanks!

I usually remove all of mine as well when I get a new one. But I did have one shower head separate once from too much pressure than it was designed for I guess. Was a stainless metal style, good brand of hand shower. But had to be a poor design, luckily was able to return it and get a different model. But just a heads up...guess it depends how much pressure you have from the start, still worth the risk to me.

Our master bathroom has a standing shower with handheld shower head.
We started to see some rust spots in the hose not to mention heavy mineral built ups in the shower head because our house has very hard water despite water softener we have.
My wife picked out this handheld shower head to replace our old one because she loves the brush nickel finish to match our bathroom decors but this turned out to be very impressive handheld shower head.
Although I have replaced shower heads many times in the past, it came with nice instruction on how to replace it for those who's not familiar with it. My only advise would be to use wrench to hold the base spout when removing and installing the holding adapter so you don't accidently twist and damage the base pipe when you over tighten it.
I really appreciate that it came with plenty of plumber's tape because you really want to put that on before connecting different parts so that there's no water leak in between threads. This is one of most common mistakes and reasons why there's leak after installing it. Very happy to see that they have provided plumber's tape to remind you to use it!
It also had rubber rings/washers in each connector but it also came with extra one, which is nice. They also included a shower drain cover to prevent hair from going in to the drainage, which is a nice bonus. I really love the brush nickel finish, which makes it look elegant and expensive. The 7 different water spray setting is nice to have so you can change it for different purpose. We will most likely leave it on one setting for most of the times but it's nice to have option to change it when needed, such as jet spray for cleaning the shower wall, etc.
After replacing the shower head, I didn't see any leak and the stainless steel hose feels sturdy. I also like that I can rotate and tilt the shower head holder and it stays in place. Overall, very happy with this shower head!

I have the same shower wand, after a year the side button stopped engaging so to get water flow you have to hold the side button the whole time. Delta is sending us a new wand. I tried soaking it in vinegar which did not work.
Also that water restrictor probably stops sediment from going into your shower head & clogging the spray holes ?
