    This is the second precon video in a row where the Command Zone has highlighted the reprint value not keeping up with the price of the product. Thanks guys for continuing to represent the community and giving us fair analysis about these things! You could have taken a much more disingenuous route, and dismissing our concerns about price point, but instead you addressed it fairly. Thanks again!

      I agree with you, and I would also like them to revisit the financial value a couple of weeks after launch. While I understand card values can fluctuate quite a bit over time, as of today (2 weeks after launch), MTGGoldfish has the all-in deck value (not just reprints) at just around $90. Using Rachel's "Bang for your Buck" calculation, that puts the card value per dollar at about $1.13. In terms of the "old" cost of $40, that's an embarrassing $45 worth of cards.

      It's because of the theme of these commander decks. Regardless of what so many people want to believe, WotC doesn't control the price of their commander precon products. Retailers and consumers know these are going to be extremely popular commander decks compared to past decks, so their price is being marked up.

Other adds I had that you didn't were the Talent cycle that they snuck into set boosters a little while back. I like 'em! I've added Tekuthal; probably need more proliferation to really make it worthwhile (i've taken out both thrummingbirds), but a 3/5 indestructible flyer seems like a solid blocker. I've also added Bothersome Quasit. I think Goad is a good mechanic to enhance protection, and the deck plays a lot of noncreature spells, so should get some decent value. Djeru, With Eyes Open seems made for this deck. Tutor a planeswalker and make it less profitable to attack planeswalkers. Brought Back can rescue planeswalkers in response to removal, or bring them back after using up their loyalty. Nesting Grounds is a great utility land in this deck; move loyalty around. I've replaced Forge of Heroes to avoid messing with colours

    another interesting value stat might be average value return per reprint so in this case take the value of the reprints minus the cost of the deck and divide that value by the number of reprints: (168-80) / 72 and you get an average value return of $1.23 per reprint.
    Where as the Riders of Rohan yielded $1.37 per reprint.
    This return value would increase with a higher deck value to cost ratio, and/or fewer reprints. So even with this deck's Value to Cost ratio of just over 2:1 being lower than other decks, if it had only included fewer reprints that would still make this deck worth it.

    Jace, Architect of Thought isn't one of the most powerful planeswalkers, but his mini fact or fiction is a solid ability, as is the ultimate where you can cherry pick the best card from each opponents library, and even his plus has a defensive bonus, giving all creatures -1 power shouldn't be ignored, especially if you can activate it more than once a turn. More of a utility card than most planeswalkers, but utility is important too.

    Can someone explain how teferi and the chain veil go infinite? Doesn’t chain veil only let you activate loyalty abilities once per turn? 32:45 for reference

    • @LongMaySheReign69
      @LongMaySheReign69 Před rokem +2

      Chain veil lets you activate your planeswalkers’ abilities one additional time that turn; for each time you activate it. So if you Use Teferi to activate the Chain Veil multiple times, each activation lets you activate your planeswalkers’ abilities one additional time that turn.

    • @Synisterjames
      @Synisterjames Před rokem +2

      The "once" in the chain veils text describes the effect of the ability, not a limitation on how many times the ability can be used or activated. If the chain veil had that type of limitation it'd say something like "You can only activate this ability once per turn."
      Tap chain veil, pay 4, teferi untaps the chain veil and enough permanents to get that 4 mana again. That allows infinite loyalty abilities of the rest of your Planeswalkers.

    • @TooMuchBSToo
      @TooMuchBSToo Před rokem

      @@Synisterjamesit's worth noting that it's a - on Teferi, so it does require some way to reset him if you truly want to go infinite. My suggestion is include a Rings of Brighthearth trigger on Chain Veil

    Sometimes in a durdly solitaire board stats it's better to make a quick decision even if it isn't the least optimal vs taking everyone's time ploting cause that's time the table is also paying attention to your game of solitaire. So even if you miss something that would be huge but you can quickly push out your value and pass and try to keep under the radar that is huge

    After playing this a couple times unedited, this is by far the best commander precon they’ve made. Absolute archenemy deck that runs at an insane speed. I just got the deck yesterday and can confirm that even out of the box with no edits that this deck is crazy. I played 3 games with friends with this deck out the box and I won 2 of them. Guff's -3 and the new Chandra can win games so quickly. I was doing up to 8-10 damage to everyone each turn and cards like Oath to Teferi and Spark Double just makes this so more crazy. Already one of my favourite decks and you can upgrade it for so cheap even if the only expensive card you get is the Gauntlet.

    • @iamacharliest
      @iamacharliest Před rokem +1

      They said activate a planeswalker ability, cast another planeswalker and then blink the first one. Then you can activate its ability again. They didn't specify a combo or anything, just described the normal utility of the card. When your planeswalker comes back in from being blinked you can activate its abilities again.
