I should have been harsher on the Arachnid Rider suit. That suit isn't mid, it's ass!
In retrospect, the Integrated/Hybrid suit should have been a 5. I don't hate it, but it is on the lower end of mid.

I think people like the "Spider-Man Mark 3" suit in Avengers is because of the texturing or shininess. The shine in Insomniac's version is a bit too much while the Avengers' version doesn’t shine as much.

The 2099 black suit actually is black when you're in dark areas, which is a lot easier to see at night.

One thing that always bothered me was how Insomniac made the MCU Iron Spider suit with black shoulder pads, they're supposed to be dark blue, the same as the chest symbol. It also has this weird gray tint on the edges of the symbol. Thank God some modders made a more accurate version!
They made the suit even worse in Spider-Man 2, the eyes are so bad 🤮

To be that guy, it’s red but it’s a warm red, since colors are on a wheel when red goes towards orange or pink it makes it warmer or cooler, so yes it’s red but it’s too close towards the warm side

The original advanced suit reminds me of the crayons from elementary school I picked up thinking they were red, realizing they were really weird mix of orange and red. Close but still frustratingly unusable.
As someone who doesn't mind the MCU's take on Spider-Man, the Far From Home suit is my personal favorite and the one I use most often when replaying the first game. I just think Spidey looks good in red and black.
Now, about Insomniac's take on the classic Iron Spider suit, I actually didn't like it when they first added it in. I felt the extra lines and lights made look it too busy and was really distracting. But I've gotten over it since then--it's actually my favorite to use in the sequel.
I really cant stand how designers idea of a modern spiderman suit is just to cut up the fucking sleeves. That’s the main thing i can’t stand about that costume. That and the more pinkish tone of red (which i wouldn’t mind if the contrast was blue)

Literally the only reason I use it is while I know it's iconic, I fucking hate how Spider-Man's outfit is red and blue instead of red and black like it was originally meant to be (just like Miguel's, funnily enough). And the FFH suit is one of the only ones in the game with that color scheme.

I love the Last Stand suit. It’s awesome. I love the casual jacket and the worker boots. It’s a suit I love to use.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the Ghost-Spider suit is awesome! Almost every tier list I've seen for this game seem to really trash on this suit to an almost unreasonable degree, I think it's really well designed and looks absolutely sick during combat!

About the criticism concerning the “Big Time” suit, I think they went with naming it that way because the suit has multiple modes with different coloration.
When it was introduced, the big time suit had a mode that disrupted light waves making him invisible which is the green one in this game. But it also had a mode that disrupted sound waves which is red.
I think they named it that way to denote that the suit represented was the stealth mode of the big time suit because both modes have different colors. Still a weird way to make it but i think it makes sense

That's an interesting point, and probably the best possible explanation as to why it's named like that. Still, I think it'd make more sense if it was Big Time (Stealth), so that it's clear that the suit's name is Big Time and that it's in its stealth mode.
But the spider bot for the suit in the sequel is just called the Stealth Suit so I don't even know.
Specifying that it’s the stealth version would’ve made more sense if they had the other version in the game.

Great video man! For that segment where you talked about Raimi Spider-Man being responsible for a lot of modern-day Spider-Man problems, I actually agree a lot with you! Despite my nostalgia and love for the films, I realize that they did a lot of things differently than the source material that literally EVERY adaptation afterword has copied from rather than taking inspiration from 616 Spidey's actual comics. In the movies, Peter is made out to be this shy pushover in high school who will shrug off insults and keep his head down, and EVERY adaptation after this pretty much takes this idea to heart. But here's the thing, Peter Parker isn't a pushover. He's a lot like Daniel LaRusso from the Karate Kid. Peter Parker (especially in the Lee/Ditko era, although he kinda calmed down his hot-temper after the conway run but still wouldn't take anyone's shit) is a hothead, whenever Flash insulted him, he'd insult him back. He'd often be frustrated and rant about how he's angry with his life and has even taken his anger out on others at times. Another thing, which I think is the worst thing that the movies have done, is having forever ruined the public perception of Mary Jane Watson. Despite being the greatest comic love interest OAT (to me anyways) and being the most interesting Spidey character outside of Peter himself and his best villains (Harry's Green Goblin & Kraven are the best villains imo), the character is now seen as a toxic love interest thanks to the films and is now either not adapted or is made to pretty much be a different person than her 616-self but with the same name. Anyways, Ik this ain't related to the suits but your point of the films affecting modern day Spider-Man stories sparked the comic nerd within me for some reason and I had a lot of thoughts I wanted to share. Again, great vid! Bravo!

Spider-UK is honestly one of my favorite suits, I like the heavy amount of blue without being a "blue suit" like the Electro or 2099 or Fear Itself suits.

Despite people bagging on all the multiverse stuff lately, I really love that all of it has essentially canonised every version of spider-man in every form of media.
The fact that they all exist & are going about their businesses in their own universes at the same time, really helps shed the competitiveness when it comes to comparison. Way more interesting to think of them all existing at once as their own slightly different versions of the same guy, instead of looking at em as adaptions.
The idea that MCU Pete through circumstance could meet and work with comic 616 Pete is just super cool to me, & stops me from “I don’t like this spider-man because this is different” ing.
I like to use the Noir suit when Pete is being "Spider-Cop"

Yeah your right. The advanced suit is definitely orange. They changed it in the remaster but I guess ultimately they accepted there mistake since in Spider-Man 2 The suit is orange again

I love the advance suit cuz of the white spider, theres somehting about that giant white spider that works so well. yeah its also very synonymous with insomniac spiderman, but i think the suit design it iconic nonetheless also the story significance is pretty cool, since Otto did design it for peter.
A small nitpick for Insomniac's Classic suit is the three lines that go all the way down to the middle.
So, in most incarnations, Pete usually has the three lines that go all the way down to his belt in his classic suit with some having 5 lines but in Insomniac's version, the two lines next to the middle line get cut off by the outline separating the red and blue then come back again in the belt. It's small but is kinda weird next to his Advanced suits that have the three lines go all the way down.
Funnily enough, his "Fear Itself" suit doesn’t have this problem and may even be better as the template for his Classic Suit just without the neon colors and such.
So all in all, take the "Fear Itself" suit, get rid of the extra bits and make it red and blue with the Insomniac Spider symbol and the classic boots and gloves.
Also why does the Comic Iron Spider suit have a uneven 1/2, 2/4 split instead of a 4/4 split? (The circle on his back is split with a line in the middle but only one line cutting the one of the half circles instead of both)
The iron spider has 3 mech legs, that back part is supposed to hold the 3 of them.
@@c3phCD oh yes, almost forgot that stupid decision… still makes it look weird as shit and would have been better to have the full plus in the circle or have the half circle be in the upper half with the 2/4 part at the bottom instead of having it be cut like it is… or just have the full 4 segments cause that’s how many Spider Arms there are.

I'm completely sick of having multiple versions of the classic suit. If it's actually something unique like the anad suit or spider verse suit (because of the body shape and the comic sfx from Miles Morales), then include it, but the idea of bringing in a todd mcfarlane or mark bagley design is utterly pointless to me.

Now that's a hot take.... nowdays, i remmeber back before MCU spider was the punching bag of the time, lotsa people talked about how Sam Reimi spider wasn't really that good an adaption of the cahracter
Anyway honestly i'think that'd be a cool video topic, explaning why you think Sam Reimi spidey was ultimatelly detrimental to the character in the future; if you're looking for video topics that go outside the costume stuff, i'd def be interested in seeing that.

The PS5 remaster makes the orange on the Advanced & Classic suits more red-skewed, thankfully, but the fact that they're as orange (the Advanced Suit in particular) as they were originally is confusing. What's weirder is that the Advanced Suit is more orange than the Classic Suit when it's supposed to be built upon from a fixed version of the Classic one. Why? It's so confusing.
Not a lot to point out on your video, it was really well made and I don't necessarily agree with your points (I quite enjoy the MCU stuff and I think the FFH suit was my most played movie suit of the game) but for a bit of clarity, Kamen Rider is pronounced more like Common Rider. Japanese a sounds are always pronounced "ah" so "kah"men rider. That suit being cel-shaded bugged me but my biggest issue was that there was no belt buckle on it. Kamen Rider all focus on their belts, or at least have a distinct buckle as part of their design, so this one having a bare waist section felt really odd to me

What I really liked about the additional suits present here that aren't in SM 2 are the suit mods. I really love how they added to the experience of getting a new suit or even if you didn't like them, the mod was still effective.

The original Rider suit for this game is so dumb. Why make an original design when there's been a Toku Spider-Man suit before that would've been really cool to have in this game instead? Not only that, but if you're gonna make an original suit, at least do it right. The rider suit in this game not only doesn't understand Toku suit design, but it also doesn't even look good. It having cel-shading is also an incredibly stupid design decision, since it's a live-action medium. It just completely misses the mark on all levels.

When people say the PS4 classic suit isn't orange, I immediately point to the Fortnite suit. THAT is an actual red suit. The PS4 classic suit is not.
I'm not sure how texturing works in the Spiderman game, but I think I can sort out some of the issues you have with some of the suits in the game. I can't model for the life of me, but I can try my hand at fixxing the irksome areas of the suits that knock off points.

The Dark Suit is one of my favourites, just the fact that Felicia made a suit for Peter shows how much she still cares. I was it had an ability, imagine if they gave Arms Race to this suit instead of Secret Wars.
I was that kind of kid that unlocked all the web of shadow suits on my wii
I love using the Boxer Suit and the Bombastic Bag-Man suit often. In fact I actually find some cutscenes hilarious when I used them.
For instance, if I go to the Halloween Party by wearing the Bombastic Bagman suit… one of the NPCs would say something like “Nice suit, it looks badass” and I just laugh whenever I wear that.
And there’s of course that one cutscene where Peter‘s about to leave MJ’s apartment and changed into his Spider-Man suit but get this, if I wear the Boxer suit, it makes the scene extra awkward, because he took of his clothes except his mask, and MJ is just shocked to that Peter’s almost naked. It’s weird, but it’s funny.

Genuinely talking I think the cyborg Spidey suit is one of my favorites. I grew up with a toy of that suit and came up with my own wild lore for it, not knowing it was just Peter with a cast. Any time the outfit shows up I get giddy, I feel like a little kid again. I guess this is just the logical conclusion of those feelings. Definitely my favorite, sad it isn’t in the sequel.

1:48 I get your problem with the advanced suit but it's still one of my favorites and everything except this game because in merchandise, toys, crossover comics, and just other art the suit is actually red or at least has a shade of red that I like and not the more orange shade it has in the actual game
15:53 I think the problem with this is that there was so much art of the MCU Iron spider that we kind of got used to one version of it through toys and art and stuff that when they change the design late in the game like a lot of these superhero movies do nowadays it just kind of always looks off to us like compare this version of the suit/endgame and Infinity War to the original releases of the SHFs and the concept art or the original trailer for Infinity War
27:06 it's based off of more recent seasons of Kamen Rider so basically stuff after 2009 where they have multiple Riders with multiple forms in one season and some of those forms being incredibly intricate like Drive type Dead Heat or Super Dead Heat or 01 Shining Assault Hopper for examples of complicated/intricate designs

Dude i would love to have a video about your opinion on the spiderman movies. It seems like you have quite passionate opinions about the ramie movie and the mcu movies, i think it would make for a great video. If not i would be intrested to hear why you dislike those version of the character and how the comic book version compares to those versions (and do you have a favourite adapation of spiderman in any medium other then comic ?)

I definitely think both the games should give credit to the first appearances of each suit, the second game should also say which artists created which suits.
They need to start giving Spider-Man a jawline in these suits. That's why I like the 2099 suit so much. Speaking of 2099 they need to give him the glowing thing he had in shattered dimensions and edge of time
