The Bird is the greatest all-around basketball player of all time. Nobody has ever had such a complete package of skills.
@@JJ-iq5cv many would but it would be a mistake. Starting my franchise I would take Bird over anybody. Watched him play in the 80s and 90s. None better for me
@@holgerplitzko6404 Also watched Bird and would take LeBron easily. Better scorer, better passer, better rebounder, better in transition defense, better in half court defense and smarter player.
@@JJ-iq5cvYou lost credibility claiming LeBron is a smarter player. LeBron is more athletic, so yes he is better in transition. Byrd will out hustle anyone in the league today. They are different types of scorers, so trying to compare is hard. LeBron often won't make the effort to get in the paint and go after rebounds, but when he is there his athleticism lets him be a good rebounder. LeBron is a good passer, but not as good as Byrd.
James Worthy said "Jordan made you look slow, but Bird made you look stupid." React to his compilation of trash talk stories. They are wild.
I went to California once I had on a Larry Bird jersey and an older gentleman told me Larry Bird gave him generation trauma. Even his grandkids hate and respect Larry Legend. He was the Boogeyman of his time you did not want to see 33 with the ball if you were up by 1 or 2 with 20 seconds left on the clock. He was going to kill your dreams of victory.
Magic made ordinary passes look amazing. Bird made amazing passes look ordinary.
RIP to Bill Walton, the Celtics player who was the one talking about Larry's left-handed game. He passed away on 5/27/24.
I felt like the Celtics and the pacers did a shit job representing and giving a send-off to Bill Walton's memory.
2:00. That was Dominique going down.
Larry and Magic single-handedly brought the NBA back to life
Larry is the KING OF CLUTCH.
I watched his entire career live on tv. Seeing it as it happened, blows your mind. Rewatching all of this, is equally as mind blowing.
Jordan and bron both had him in their top 3
Top 10: No doubt
Top 5: I think so
Top 3: Pretty reasonable argument
GOAT: Difficult, but not a crazy argument.
My thoughts exactly.
If he's not in your top 10, we can't even talk because I don't know what game you're watching.
If he's not in your top 5, we need to talk.
If he's not in your top three, I disagree, but concede that arguments can be made for others.
Bird=best all-around player to ever play.
Both Larry and Magic were listed at 6'9", but seeing them standing next to each other, Larry is a bit taller. The injury that Larry came back from, he landed on his face and broke his cheekbone. He had a concussion and was seeing double, and he STILL took over that game. I have Larry at #2, behind Jordan, but not by much. Now that you've started, you need to dive into more Larry videos. Bird definitely top 3 since 1980
Since 1980 it’s
1) jordan
2) bird.
3)… I don’t know. Shaq? Le bron? Kobe? Curry? Olajuwon? Tim Duncan?
Only 1 of 3 players to win mvp 3 times in a row and 3 3pt contests too. Only man to have won an mvp coach of the year and executive of the year too.
Great reaction..
Yessir Larry Legend
R.I.P Bill Walton
Should check out Larry Bird greatest passer of all time video re-edit.
LARRY LEGEND IS A UNICORN AND THE *TRUE* GOAT!!! 🐐 ☘️
Greatest small forward of all time. How can anyone compare LeBron to him.
Growing up in South Boston in the eighties, we planned our week around watching Bird and the Celtics.
Bird goes HARD!
bird was the only player mj couldn't get the better of.
That man was cold!! WOW
Back then there were no technical fouls. A foul was just a regular foul no matter what you did. Pretty much only fighting got you kicked out.
Sure there were technicals. Rasheed Wallace had the largest number, with Malone and Barkley not far behind. They didn't call flagrant fouls. Refs just threw players out.
When he fell hard to the floor and broke his cheekbone, the team doctor told him he couldn't play the rest of the game and Larry snuck out of the locker room to rejoin his team. Larry was also very generous with his teammates by getting them the ball and letting them shine by getting in shots. Great video.
His retirement ceremony was a packed arena and it wasn't even a game day.
Keep up with the Bird videos. You gonna like him
I grew up watching Bird, Magic etc. I was a Lakers fan, my dad was a Celtics fan. But, one thing I had was absolute respect for Bird. That dude was playing a different game than everyone else. I still put him at #1 total complete all-around player. My top 5 is Bird, MJ, Magic, Kobe, Kareem.
Look it up. In his first 9 years...before DOUBLE Achilles surgery, his averages were JUST shy of 50/40/90. He is the founding member of that club, and did it 4 straight years. MJ didn't win a championship until AFTER Bird retired.
Enough said
He averaged 50/40/90 over that stretch, but didn't hit those numbers in all categories every single year. Still an amazing achievement, but worth clarifying.
Larry legend is the GOAT,
They called him Legend while Larry was still playing.
☮️❤️🙏🌎🌍🌏🇺🇸❤️☮️
Larry would be my top pick. He wasn't just a great player, but a fantastic team player. Someone who led from the front and stayed loyal to one team. LJ surrounded himself with good players to stack himself higher but ultimately it is a team that wins, not an individual and Larry is a leader.
the best era of basketball
Greatest small forward ever might possibly be the greatest all around player 2nd highest win percentage of all time
Larry was on another level than all the other players! I think he's the best player of all time!
I got Bird, Jordan and Johnson as my top 3. Better games. Better inside game and talent and they played in a mans aggressive game.
Larry bird is the trash talking king!!!! All the legends agree
Great job, enjoyed your commentary. Love LB!
Got Bird #2 player. #1 small forward. I rank by skill, Leadership, heart, contributions and not trophies. If I did, Bill Russell and Robert Horry would be the Goats. My 5 are:
MJ
Bird
Kobe
Hakeem
Duncan
He broke his cheek bone in his face and had a possible concussion as well and came back out to play
Larry played with so much heart and intelligence.. Kareem said.. he used that muscle between his ear and that made him dangerous... But he also played injured.. had a back injury from shoveling snow for his Mother in 1985 and still won a championship in 1986.. Played with a fractured cheekbone.. he just wouldn't quit. He earned the respect of his colleagues. The slow, chubby, Hick from French Lick.. one of the GOAT's.
❤❤❤Bill
When you sleep on Larry, you sleep on basketball.
Were there faster players? Were there better jumpers? Surely. Watch his ultimate passing video for his best plays ever.
Larry Bird always demonstrated a level of heart and showmanship that are still unmatched. His rivalry and friendship with Magic are the stuff of legend.
Thank you, Larry. And goodnight, but never goodbye.
Larry Joe is the one true Goat!
I have MJ then Larry in my top 2 - And there are so many videos for you to check out to really see what this man (and Magic) did for the NBA back then - they saved it! Going to a Knicks game (my team) when they played the Celtics was always a great time - inevitably, Bird would do something in the game that would just make your head spin. Fun reaction - hope you'll check out others (times he was injured and didn't quit - passing highlights, trash talking stories) look forward to seeing you react to those, too.
Larry GOAT!
Larry Legend the best.
The retirement ceremony was held all on it's own, no game was played that day and the entire garden was filled to capacity
Top 5 for me:
Larry Bird
Magic Johnson
Michael Jordan
Wilt Chamberlain
LeBron James
IMO, Magic & Larry resurrected the game of basketball...My dad loved basketball, but stopped watching, until the competition between Johnson & Bird was highlighted...What my Dad used to say, about Larry's game, is that it reminded him of someone, who wasn't only playing basketball, but also, volleyball, dodgeball, football, baseball, soccer, & strategic chess, all at the same time, & what made him so great 😊He certainly was one of the most unique & gifted players, I ever watched! I copied some links for you to watch or react to, that will explain how amazing Larry was 😊 50 Amazing Assists: czcams.com/video/baBdnA7cui0/video.html Best Trash Talker: czcams.com/video/v7Id88T5DPs/video.html Best Passer of all time: czcams.com/video/CExjzyTRxnQ/video.html Larry Bird No Choir Boy(tough side of Larry Bird) czcams.com/video/2oIgYyYEyAI/video.html Larry's 60 point game: czcams.com/video/uJ__yWoq-lo/video.html and Larry Bird & Magic Johnson, A courtship of rivals documentary: czcams.com/video/axbIoHqFaa8/video.html *HAVE FUN* 😊
It’s that top 5 in order ? And bet I got some Larry Bird fans imma get to reacting now then 😎
@@Cpski4 Yup, that is my order, & look forward to more reaction vid's for our Larry Bird😊
I like that top 5 but i'd put Kareem in there and drop magic to 6th. Michael is my #1, the rest are interchangeable. I have Larry 3
@@SC-lb2hl Kareem is amazing as well, but I have such a soft spot for Bird & Magic, because I watched their whole career 😊
Shit was physical in the 80s. My teen years I was a Bird fan
Bird....GOAT
#4
Wilt, MJ, Russel, Bird, Kareem
RIP to the Legend, Bill Walton.
Dunno about the best but he’s definitely my favorite.
You need to watch the 5 times Larry Bird played hurt video!
Hey kids, embrace the 80's values- hard work, dedication, selff control, being humble, willing to improve and last but nit least respect. That is all you need to bring NBA back to that level you've just witnessed. Those legends are still there for you- Larry, Magic, MJ, Kareem, Malone... man the list is so long.Ask questions and watch and copy paste.God bless!!!
Bird in my top 3, no cap!
Watch -> Larry Bird Greatest Passer of All Time (Re-edit w/ New Footage)
Bird has more full court dimes than most people have regular assists...Your jaw will be on the ground and youll see why he's Larry Legend...passed like Magic, jumper like MJ, 3ptr like Curry, rebound like Euwing (avg 10rpg career)...
The only reason there is an NBA today , is because Bird and Magic saved it .
Jordan 1a, Bird 1b. And that's from a Tar Heel fan of 60+ years.
"Jordan made you look slow. Bird made you look stupid."
The fun part about the clothesline was it was just a regular foul. No breakaway, no technical, no fines. Shake it off and take your two.
Larry is top1
He share that position with Jordan and Magic.
But yea...
He is top1
Larry Ffffffing Bird is most likely what every other team in the league knew him as
Bird top 3
My Goats: MJ, Bird, Lebron, Kobe, Magic In that order
@@Cpski4 Maybe because they're always talking about the three or five top human players
bird ftw..
It's hard to rate basketball players (and chess players) across different spans of time, because the new guys can study the moves of the previous generation. "How'd he do that? What was that move there? How'd he see that coming? Let me try that." Did they learn that because they're the best players ... or because they're the best students, who had film they could refer to?
Some people wouldn't put Bird in their top 5 of all time. That's fine. There could be guys since then who were or are physically better than prime Bird, or who had flashier physical gifts or better career stats (and there were back in the day, too). But those guys still owe a lot to Larry Legend, because he was playing that style of game in the 80s. He was doing things you just didn't *do* back then, making other players look foolish. And he didn't learn it watching film, he learned it shooting hoops with the Black players working at a hotel in his home town. He got it by *doing it.*
How do people not see his head bounce off the court vs the Pacers?
🙂👍🔥🏀
We all know Magic had 5 and Larry has 3.. but the respect is undeniable. Watching the films from back in the day is great.. but can you imagine in this day and age... the crowd flooding the court now days... I'm trying to find any video.. but I don't think it can happen these days.. People are different now and not trust worthy.. to put it nicely.
💯
Larry Bird is Top 1 in basketball history!!
“What’d he hurt? His butt check?” Young fella; he broke his eye socket when he got concussed diving on the floor for a loose ball. In today’s nba, that’d be like 🦗 🦗 🦗 🦗
younger folk dunno about bird, just you guys who react. he was fkn lethal. entire league got chills back then. players now can't do whut he did. absolutely a godzilla in 80's. best all round player to this day. he's not called larry legend for nothing.
Good reaction young man. If I could ask a favor though. You you mind pausing when you speak? I'm old and with all this hair in my ears it's sometimes difficult to hear what you're saying over the video. 😂
when gary paytonn,, mj,, magic, kareem all say he was hard wok, pay attention lol.
React to more Bird!! Subbed!!!
B A S K E T B A L L J E S U S ! ! !
Greatest small forward of all time. My top 5 . Mike , Wilt , Kareem, Russell, and Larry Bird
Please please watch the documentary on Bird and Magic called "a courtship of rivals"
Wilt Chamberlain best ever. Hands down.
Larry Bird was different ! His basketball IQ was in another galaxy ! Larry Bird would average a triple double in his sleep in today’s soft NBA
Larry Legend not top every stat, but he was das best all around basketball player in history. If I had only one pick for my team from all who played then und all who play now? My first pick ist Larry every time.
Auf Wiedersehen :)
Watch and learn
He broke his face not his ass! Weren't you watching? 😂
If you haven't seen the college Goat look at Pete Maravich. 44.2 ppg no 3 point line and only played 3 years!!!
This fella 33 is a lil different
He had a fractured face
MJ-1, Kobe-2, Bird-3
Jordan is 1. Bird is 2.
I keep hearing Larry Bird wasn’t athletic. I can see he physically outplayed everybody. Maybe not gracefully but he was very athletic, even hurt. Just because you’re not taking off from the free throw line doesn’t mean you’re not athletic. Mind and body work together to make physical accomplishments possible.
Did you see 6:22 ?
I DON'T NOOO WHAT YOU ARE SAYING. AND I DON'T NOOO WHO LARRY BURR IS BYEEEEEE
Larry is top 3, but he's not #3. Only Jordan was better.
Smash that sub button for more !
You have to react to Bird's 60pt game, it's ridiculous. He hits from everywhere.
Go to channel it’s alr out !
LARRY LEGEND IS MY #1 ❤ ☘️
