But some of its backwards. Christianity was well documented hundreds of yrs before anything Norse made it to paper. Some suspect Ragnarok being inspired in part by Revelations, not the other way round. Norse myth may have been around at the time of early Christianity or it may have been bits and pieces and then took some of the roman mythology which was just Greek gods with different names. Odin and Zeus (and Christian Yahweh) look kinda similar

As a norweigan elkhound owner i can say youre correct about the barking. Its very deep, needs to for stopping big game like moose and bear. Also makes a great home alarm as she will bark as anyone approaches the house so if anyone sneaks up I will absolutely know. Also..if youre going to rob a house its pretty unviting to go the one that sounds like its thundering inside.
I had a basset hound and their barks are not as loud as an elkhound but they're very deep. We were wrestling once and my ear was against her throat when she barked. OMG no joke I was deaf for a few minutes, it was like a sonic bomb went off in my head
They have different barks, one to calm them down when they are standing still and one to provoke them if they are moving and one to indicate when it's working and the prey chases them. They all alert the hunter about what's going on. Ungulates and predators perceive barking differently, so what is reassuring to a moose might be terrifying to a bear. Bear hunting often involves more chasing, unless it climbs a tree.

Lol - yes Odin is one of the inspirations for Santa. He was supposed to have shown up during blizzards randomly and given toys to good boys and girls. The 8 tiny reindeer are Slepnirs feet.
