There is no way that I can keep myself from getting emotional listening to this song.
Leslie Allen served during the campaign of New Guinea. In june 1942 during the battle of Mount Tambu he carried 12 wounded American soldiers out from the Battle zone and was awarded the silver star for his actions.
What really gets to me about this story, is the fact that in spite of the terrain and being under heavy fire. Leslie Allen returned again and again, carrying the wounded on his back. What a hero!!!
When it comes to Inmate 4859..well get ready for an incredible story, what he did was so incredible that it's almost impossible to believe it is a true story.
I can't wait to watch the history. I say that everytime but it speaks to how well their songs are at grabbing your atttention and saying....what is this about!
This song doesn't get enough attention, very underrated. The sad thing about this story is Australia still hasn't given this man the honor he deserves. His only award for this act was given by the USA military whom the Australians were supporting.
Love this song, one of my favourites from them and one of the few with the piano. They have two history episodes about this song, one related about Leslie and another with some other examples of the same topic.

Bull Allen was an incredible ma, kept running into enemy fire to carry his fellow soldiers out of harms way. A damn fine man.

the sad thing is, that Australie never saw him as a heroe, he saw several punishment when he returend from war....
Allen did what he could -and that was a lot.. PTSD is a frase that is used do easily today in certain coutries. There is difference between bad memories and really getting a shock in unimmaginable situations.
I as a viewer...really have to ask how so many views the reactions and forget to hit the like. It doesn't cost anything, just show some appreciation. Come on guys!

Sabaton tells the stories that need to be told and remembered about the heroic individuals and groups that performed with courage and honor under the most horrific and dangerous conditions, often making the ultimate sacrifice for their fellow warriors and homeland. Great reaction, thanks for sharing it.

Could u react to sabaton the lion from the north it has 2 verisions one in eng and Swe .some songs on Carolus Rex album have different lyrics so I recommend to check both versions ^^
