I have an older version without the silver control cover. It's awesome. You can probably pick one up used for around $150 now.
I've seen where people just put an Aguilar Pick up and leave the preamp and it sounds really good. Also that okd Blink Cheshire and Dude Ranch Stingray sound is 👌
I got one the other day! The same kind on your video! Awesome sound! I love it!
I have a Sting Ray Special, but I would buy this bass only because of the color. So beautiful!!
I just took my Sterling Sub to a new level. Installed a BassMods 2 band preamp. Now I can’t put it down…
I’ve had two of these (one for home and one for the studio) since 2017/2018 and absolutely love them. Had to change the cheap plastic input jack on one of them but other than that they play great and sound great.
Got a Ray5 HH on sale. It was a limited edition ruby red with black burst edges. I literally can’t put it down and it’s taken up a lot more of my practice time than my guitars.
I always said if Fender made this bass they would charge $1200 for it. I love mine. I don’t gig buy a friend of mine does gig and his Sterling cost $350…
Yep, I'm actually ok with the sound of the pickups as well. But I do fear a bit that the pots will give up on me one day. They feel a bit flimsy already and with my luck one of them will probably break during a live set haha.
I just replaced my Squier 70s vibe P Bass with one of these, exact same as yours and I like it much better. it feels easier to play and I think it should be more versatile for many playing styles. I was trying to learn slap technique and for some reason it works better that way. Only thing is the frets have to be filed down on the edges but that's to be expected at the price!
Yep, with mine the treble control keeps loosening up, but it has held together so far haha. I do think mine could use some fret leveling (and rounding up!) as well.
I wish I would of found this vid before I bought the 4hh
I have one and installed Tatamovich 900 pickups , now it’s best bass in world. Like betman
Ooh interesting, I need to research those more.
I bought one a few months ago - exact same finish/model - and I love it. I do my own setups, so I filed and leveled the frets, strung it with Cobalt Flats, and lowered the pickup slightly (a little TOO powerful!). It sounds great!
My SUB 4 is in the light green color and an amazing bass for the price. The quality is really outstanding and plays really well. I sometime use a Gruv Gear fret wrap under the bridge strings for that Jamerson Motown sound. Set up was good right out of the box and I also see no reason to mod. It gets the job done.
Cześć! Chcę zapytać o to, czy brzmienie, które słyszymy pochodzi wyłącznie od gitary i
Valeton Dapper BASS wpiętej bezpośrednio do interfejsu audio? Jak duży wpływ ma Valeton Dapper BASS?
Generalnie dobra robota! 👍😎
3:46 to the people who own this bass. I have one and feel the treble knob does NOT do much. Is it normal on this bass? On the contrary, the Bass knob does make a big difference - makes it very boomy (kinda too much). Is everyone somewhat happy with stock pup and preamp on Ray4?
I think I read somewhere that the one thing peopl do swap on this bass are is the preamp. I'm a guitarist first, so I'm still learning about bass EQ and such and haven't felt the need to swap anything.
@@CatPickStudios Thanks for your input! I do appreciate it. I noticed a wire was loose around the treble and fixed it. Now it is doing something. But volume knob/Pot has to be replaced since since I broke it during the repair. No biggie. I paid just over $200 for an used SUB. I will probably use it as it is, rather than $150 preamp and $150 new pub. I don't really care how a real Stingray bass sounds (must be amazing but...). If I feel like, I can use preamp pedals, overdrive pedals and knobs on amp etc. Cheers,
Got one recently and I agree. And reviews have also have pointed it out.
What is the background theme of the first song played
It's a jam track I released a while ago, it can be found here: czcams.com/video/6JmGTVwGrTk/video.html
Song at beginning sounded sick at 2x speed
Haha I can imagine.
Mine is perfect! Satin Walnut finish and sounds like a 2500 dollar bass. I have a Geddy Lee Japanese model and Signature guitars Jazz bass prototype that blows the Geddy Lee away. The Sterling beats them both!!! 320$ total simply unbelievable!!!
Yep mine has been great, though it does need some fret end work in the near future.
just bought one & luv it......................... go SUB!
Nice!!
Nice axe, cool bridge.
Now go play wit cha kids
That's the plan!
OMG.. is that pick on a bass.

I regret nothing.
