    Hello, I just wanted to thank you for doing these videos that are really and I mean really helping me going through year 11.
    I do like math a lot and I don't think math like me (simply said it) and I appreciate that I can watch your videos and understand what we actually meant to do.
    I really do wish you were teaching at my school and to be brutally honest my math teacher is well yeah... but anyway are you planning for a trip to my school? haha just joking...unless :D

    2:01 why would that not be mean with outliers (such as a data set with 1,2,3,4,5,6,999999)

      Good question! It depends on how you think about the meaning of "centre of a set". The mean, almost by definition, is the centre of mass of the data. It's where you could balance your finger on a number line that had weights at each data point. The median, on the other hand, is the centre element when the elements are listed in order. It's the element that has the same number of data points on both sides of it.
      Certainly, the median and the mean can be very far apart, but the mode is the one that is most likely the farthest from the centre of its set, no matter which version of "centre" you use.

    Why pi =3.14???

    • @geoffnet1
      @geoffnet1 Před 4 lety

      Pi is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. Pi is a constant because all circles are similar.
