We had this vacuum for probably 7 years, we had gotten it for free because the prior owners lost suction. I found that someone had sucked up a sock and blocked it up. After cleaning it up and clearing it out, it gave us trouble free cleaning for years. The attachments were great, including the canister caddy. Sadly, it ended up biting the dust about 3 years ago because the vacuum head motor went out. We ended up replacing it with a Shark Lift Away that we found on clearance at Walmart for 30$, originally 120$. Probably the vacuum deal of a lifetime. We bought the last two, one for my parents and one for us. They're both still providing reliable work to this day. Honestly, i used to swear by Bissell vacuums, but after I got my original shark I finally understood why they are considered one of the industry leaders. They're better built for long term use (less parts to fail in the long run), have much better filtration, better cleaning flexibility with the various features/attachments, rarely lose suction and have better suction in general... Shark is just a better vacuum.

I'm leaving this review even though I think this model has been replaced, because in nearly two years of use it's been so satisfactory, particularly considering how little we paid for it. And maybe the review will be useful to someone considering another Shark model: all their uprights use the same basic ideas, and you'll know what improvements might be worth getting.

Vacuums depreciate fast, especially when idiots own them. I just got a Kirby Avalir II out of the metal recycler for free that just came out 1-2 years ago and costs over $2,000 door to door, and $850 on eBay. The serial number is scratched off and the cord was cut so I suspect some salesman ripped off the company for a sale but who knows. Works perfect.

*Overall 5 stars as it's exactly what we wanted,🧼 **allabout.wiki/SharkRotator** in terms of cleaning power. Suction is as good as all the reviews state. When we first got it, I first vacuumed with the existing vacuum and then with this, the additional fine dirt that was in the Shark Rotator was gross and convinced me we needed this. We have medium length carpet and a terrier - no issues, I do imagine plush carpets would not work well with this. Also a little too powerful for most bathroom rugs. Great for area **rugs. One** con is the hose, it's great for reaching far away places (ceiling), but is frustrating and hard to use if you're within arm's distance (think couch and floorboards). This is due to the design of the hose having this long metal rod for extension. Also, I haven't figured out how to get the hose back together quickly as it's supposed to nest into the base of the vacuum. This piece might just be user error though.Canister is just like all others, still have to take out the middle insert to get all the dirt out. I often make a mess around the trash as I'm trying to empty it, but the suction picks that right back up.*

The vacuum adjusts itself to any carpet pile/height. I've had it for 3 yrs., with half a dozen cats and 2 big dogs in the house and I don't even need the little pet power brush. It's awesome and NO problems at all!! The hose is very thick and stretches well, no cracking, seals are still all intact.

@@marionhollis4817 "Adjusts itself to any carpet" is just a marketing rip-off trick to say that it does not have height control. Meaning that you cannot control the level of suction or agitation you get out of it, it will just dig into the carpet until it stalls. On a normal vacuum that you can raise and lower depending on the pile, this is no issue.
