    I'm a beginner and this will be the second type of granny square I make. I thought this would be way too complicated, but your tutorial is excellent and mine turned out great. Thanks so much for taking the time to make this! And thanks for not skipping things that are "obvious", because as a beginner it's hard to keep all the different stitches separated.

    • @AdoreCreaCrochet
      @AdoreCreaCrochet  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I'm absolutely delighted to hear that you found the tutorial helpful and that your granny square turned out great! As a beginner, it's particularly encouraging to hear that the instructions were clear and that the tutorial was comprehensive enough to make even the "obvious" steps understandable.
      It's wonderful that you're expanding your skills by trying different types of granny squares. Each new pattern and technique you learn will continue to build your confidence and abilities.
      If you have any more questions as you continue your crochet journey, need advice on a specific stitch, or if there's another project you're thinking of starting, feel free to ask. Happy crocheting, and I look forward to hearing about your future projects! 🌟🧶

    I stressed the other night trying to find a daisy square that I liked that was small and also had 11 or 12 petals not small 8 petal. This tutorial is amazing! How many squares do you think would be needed for a cardigan? 😊

    • @AdoreCreaCrochet
      @AdoreCreaCrochet  Před 5 měsíci

      Thank you so much for your comment🥰 I'm thrilled to hear that you find the tutorial amazing! The number of squares needed for a cardigan depends on various factors such as the size of the squares, the desired size of the cardigan, and your preferred layout.
      As a general guideline, you might want to plan out the dimensions of your cardigan and then calculate how many squares will fit across the width and height. Keep in mind that you'll also need squares for sleeves, and you may want to create additional squares for the back and front panels.
      I recommend making a small sample square, measuring it, and then determining the size and layout of your cardigan. Once you have these details, you can estimate the total number of squares needed. Adjustments can be made based on your preferences for fit and style.
      😊🧶

    I’ve never seen anyone attach yarn by tying it on the way you do. Is there a particular reason you prefer this method to the typical “make a slip knot and attach to space” method?

    • @AdoreCreaCrochet
      @AdoreCreaCrochet  Před 5 měsíci +1

      The choice of attaching yarn can vary among different crocheters. I have just always used this method. And therefore find it the most easy to do.
      Ultimately, the choice between these methods comes down to personal preference, the type of project, and the desired aesthetic. Feel free to experiment with both methods and use the one that works best for you and your specific project. Happy crocheting! 🧶✨

      @AdoreCreaCrochet  Před 3 měsíci +1

      You're very welcome, and I'm glad you enjoyed the tutorial!🥰 Adding a solid border to your square is a great idea. You're on the right track with single crocheting around the square and making 3 single crochets, chain 2, 3 single crochets in the corners. This will help maintain the square shape while adding a neat border. Just continue single crocheting evenly along each side, making sure to work the corner stitches as you described. Feel free to adjust the number of stitches or chains in the corners if needed to keep the square shape. Happy crocheting, and I'm here if you have any further questions! 🌟🧶

This is the first I've seen someone start the corner (the first 3 stitches) then move around the circle and finish with the last stitches of the first corner. Can I substitute the 4 Chain Circle for a magic ring? Would it work the same?

      Yes, absolutely! Both techniques serve the same purpose of creating a tight, adjustable center for your work.

    • @AdoreCreaCrochet
      @AdoreCreaCrochet  Před rokem

      Hello!🙂 I'm glad to hear that you love the granny squares and are planning to make a bag out of them. As for your question regarding the amount of yarn required, it really depends on the size of the granny squares you are planning to make, the yarn weight, and the hook size you are using.
      To determine the amount of yarn you will need, you can first choose the yarn and hook size you would like to use, and then create a small sample square to measure the amount of yarn needed to complete one square. From there, you can calculate the total amount of yarn needed based on the number of squares you plan to make for your bag.
      As a general rule of thumb, for a small granny square measuring around 4 inches (10 cm) and using a worsted weight yarn, you will need approximately 15-20 grams of yarn. However, this amount may vary depending on the factors mentioned earlier.
      I hope this information is helpful, and happy crocheting! 🌺❤

    Hi, Beautiful tutorial and so well explained. Though I'm a very newbie to crochet, I could totally understand everything you explained and this gives me so much joy.
    I would like to ask you about a problem I face when doing the magic loop. Firstly, if I want to do a slip knot and then chain 4 and crochet double crochet in the circle and then fasten, fine enough.
    However, if I want to do the magic loop and crochet double crochet in the circle, when I'm about to join the last stitch and I have to pull the tail to close the circle, it's impossible to pull all the yarn tail, and as a result, I can't close the circle. What am I doing wrong?
    Thank you for your time and help.

      Thank you for your kind words, and I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying learning crochet!
      It sounds like you're having a bit of trouble with closing the magic loop. Here are a few tips that might help:
      Adjust the Loop Size: When you create the magic loop, make sure to leave a longer tail than you think you'll need. This will give you more yarn to pull on when closing the loop.
      Loosen Your Stitches: Sometimes, if your stitches are too tight, it can be difficult to close the loop. Try to crochet your stitches a bit looser when working into the magic loop.
      Use Your Fingers: As you finish crocheting your stitches into the loop, use your fingers to hold onto the loop and the working yarn. This will help keep everything in place while you pull on the tail to close the loop.
      Practice Patience: It might take a few tries to get the hang of closing the magic loop smoothly. Don't get discouraged if it doesn't work perfectly the first time. Keep practicing, and you'll get the hang of it!
      If you're still having trouble, feel free to ask. I'm here to assist you!

      Hi Marie, thank you so much for your response.
      Not very sure, but I think I got it.
      I made some sample following your example of the centered crochet (the green color). It came out beautiful.
      I made another sample, following same steps, but instead of doing 16 double crochet, I did 8, and it was impossible to close the circle, so I thought that most probably I should chain 2 instead of 4, simply because the double crochets will be much less. I'm not sure if I'm correct.
      Another thing, I find it easier to close a circle made of a slip knot, instead of a magic ring.
      In my first message, I made a mistake. I should have mentioned "magic ring" and not slip knot. The difficulty I mostly face is closing the circle of a magic ring, so I will follow your example of making a slip knot and chaining. 😊

    Is the thread you work in thin or thick?

    • @AdoreCreaCrochet
      @AdoreCreaCrochet  Před 5 měsíci

      Hello😊 I'm using some DK weight merino wool yarn. It is delicious, soft and elastic and therefore easy to work with for beginners. Cotton yarn can be difficult to work with for beginners because it doesn't give. And the thinner it is, the harder it is to see the stitches clearly. I would therefore recommend beginners to work with thicker yarn with a little bit of elasticity.

      You can use this with other granny square designs as long as they have 4 rounds in the same type of yarn. There may well be a slight difference due to different stitch types. • @AdoreCreaCrochet
      @AdoreCreaCrochet  Před 2 měsíci

      For a cardigan or sweater, you'll typically want a yarn that's soft, durable, and easy to work with. Look for yarns labeled as "worsted weight" or "medium weight" as these are often recommended for garments like cardigans and sweaters.
      Acrylic yarn is a good choice for beginners because it's affordable, widely available, and easy to care for. It's also quite soft and comes in a wide range of colors, allowing you to find the perfect shade for your project.
      If you're looking for something natural, wool yarn is another excellent option. It's warm, durable, and has great stitch definition. However, keep in mind that some people find wool to be itchy, so you might want to opt for a wool blend or a softer variety of wool if you're sensitive to itchiness.
      Happy crocheting! 😊❤

    I always end up with an odd number when I get to the square part and then it’s uneven. How do I fix that??

    • @AdoreCreaCrochet
      @AdoreCreaCrochet  Před měsícem +2

      If you're consistently ending up with an odd number of stitches when working on the square part of your crochet project, it might be because of an error in the pattern or in your stitch count. Here's how you can troubleshoot and fix it:
      Count your stitches: Double-check your stitch count at the end of each round to ensure you have the correct number of stitches. Counting your stitches can help you identify where you might be adding or skipping stitches.
      Check the pattern: Review the pattern instructions carefully to make sure you're following each step correctly. Look for any specific instructions regarding stitch counts at the end of each round.
      Make adjustments: If you're consistently ending up with an odd number of stitches, you may need to adjust your stitch count to ensure it's even. You can do this by adding or skipping stitches as needed to make the count even.
      Use stitch markers: Placing stitch markers at the beginning and end of each round can help you keep track of your stitch count and identify any mistakes more easily.
      Practice: Sometimes, getting the hang of a new pattern or stitch technique takes practice. Keep practicing, and don't be discouraged if it takes a few tries to get it right.
      By carefully counting your stitches, double-checking the pattern, and making any necessary adjustments, you should be able to fix the issue and create even squares for your project. If you're still having trouble, don't hesitate to ask for help or clarification. Happy crocheting! 🧶😊

    • @AdoreCreaCrochet
      @AdoreCreaCrochet  Před 2 měsíci

      It can be frustrating when your squares don't turn out as square as you'd like, even when following the pattern closely. Here are a few tips to help you achieve a more square shape:
      Check your tension: Inconsistent tension can cause your squares to distort. Make sure you're maintaining the same tension throughout your work. If you notice your tension changing, try to adjust accordingly as you crochet.
      Count your stitches: Double-check that you're crocheting the correct number of stitches in each round. Missing or adding stitches can throw off the square shape. Counting your stitches regularly can help catch any mistakes early on.
      Pay attention to corners: Ensure that you're crocheting the corners properly. Corners are crucial for maintaining the square shape. Be consistent in how you work the corners in each round.
      Block your squares: Blocking can help even out your stitches and encourage your squares to hold their shape. Wet blocking or steam blocking are common methods for shaping crochet projects. You can pin your squares into shape and let them dry to achieve a more uniform appearance.
      Experiment with hook size: Sometimes, using a larger or smaller hook size can affect the shape of your squares. If your squares are too tight or too loose, try adjusting your hook size to see if it makes a difference.
      Don't get discouraged if they're not perfect right away. With time and practice, you'll improve your skills and create more uniform squares.
      Keep practicing, and don't hesitate to reach out if you need further assistance or have any questions along the way!
