Very impressive game, from Japan. Especially missing 2 best NBA players. Rui Hachimura and Watanabe. With both players, Japan is a threat to upset any team, in Fiba 🏀💯

I like the Japanese offensive tactics. deep threes create space for speedy guards. constant pressure from a fastbreak. Where the improvement is needed is definitely on defense. I saw a lot of awkward positioning in the post way too many times that lead to easy layups, no dribble needed. the zone is good counter for size but I think they may lack the length to utilize to its full potential. Rotations were good but you get tired after the third one. all in all i'm impressed with the fight by Japan just ran out of gas.

From a french perspective, nice game with an opponent with unusual way to play. Congrats Japan but at the the athletic difference took the lead. Just to those saying 2 major japanese players were missing, it was, at minimum, the same for France (batum, ntilikina & wemby for all different reasons). Allez les bleus 🇨🇵 !

Japan is good , but i dont see them winning against Germany.. but definitely a good team to watch out for.
Not so long ago Japan used to lose by 40-50, even 60 points, against top teams as Spain, France, USA, etc. Now by 18 against a France super team....and without Watanabe and Hachimura. Nobody beats japanese people when it comes to work hard and learn, and here are the results. So happy for them, amazing culture and bright future.

But the majority of Japanese fans are satisfied with Rui's reasons for withdrawing from the tournament. He wants to focus on his career in the NBA. And on the other hand, most Japanese basketball fans and Rui's fans would be more than happy to see him in the NBA for a long time.
