Why are people complaining about his voice? For one, if you can't "hear" what this guy is talking about, then you shouldn't be mixing. For two, if you don't care to really try and listen to what he's saying, you really don't have the heart or passion for this career. He's a professional giving out free advice for goodness sake.
I agree. He is an absolutely mixing legend and his philosophies about mixing opened my eyes so much when I started studying him and his work. I bought a few on these plugins based on his recommendation and they are amazing.

damn ...never heard somebody explaining depth that way. Makes a lot of sense. "in order something to be high something have to be low, for something to be dark something have to be white" Good advice.
Voice or no voice the guy is a genius. Can't imagine anyone who knows more about using vintage gear from the 60s 70s 80s and beyond than JJP. A ton of Record credits to show for it too. Waves have CLA , AS, EK , JJP and other greats. I wish they had BC on board.
They should have used some Waves plugins on his voice audio to add some of those "magic harmonics".
Then do a before/after comparison - those special plugins would sell themselves........

I agree with the guys who say they should’ve waited. Also as a professional singer who toured most of my life I’m experienced with losing my voice.
In those situations speak very softly, very very softly, and have some lukewarm tea with plenty of honey.
And did I mention speak very softly?
Now I’m going to go watch a bunch of other videos from him because I love him, but I must say emphatically the guys at Waves should’ve said

Mr. Puig: I've heard you speak in lots of videos on a on a wide range of topics through the years. Despite the condition of your voice on this particular day (or perhaps because of it!), I've never heard your PASSION come across as well as it did in this video and the other done the same day explaining the JJP Signature Collection. Thank you for pressing on and doing these videos when it would have been easy to postpone. I really enjoyed both videos a great deal, I learned some things, and I feel like I got you know you a little better as a passionate musician.

Yo people at Waves...great videos with JJP BUT you could've chosen some other day to make these videos when his voice is in better shape. I'm not an expert, but I guess he could harm his vocal cords.

Waves probably traveled quite a ways to shoot this video. They're not just gonna get back on the plane. It doesn’t really matter, the voice is intelligible and the advice is solid.
His voice has tape hiss and console hummm built in.
I Love how they recorded this video because I know every base, ignorant, superficial, vane, childish mind will miss the jewels that have been hidden in here and they will be left for the prudent as diamonds floating on top of a swamp with only strings of marsh covering them... some value seeing beauty, some know the beauty of seeing value.
