- The Secret To Making Perfect Turns While Driving. Tutorial for Beginners
In this video tutorial, I will be showing you how to make perfect turns as a beginner driver. Perfecting this skill is crucial for passing your road test and obtaining your driver's license. By the end of this tutorial, you will have the confidence and knowledge to make smooth and controlled turns.
When making a left turn, be sure to position your car in the left-most lane and signal your intention to turn left. Slow down and look to the left as you approach the intersection. When making a right turn, position your car in the right-most lane and signal your intention to turn right. Slow down and look to the right before making the turn.
To position your arms for turning, place your left hand at the top of the steering wheel and your right hand at the bottom when making a left turn. For a right turn, place your right hand at the top of the steering wheel and your left hand at the bottom. This will ensure a smooth and controlled turn.
Always keep your eyes on the lane you want to turn into and be aware of any potential obstacles or pedestrians in your path. With practice and patience, you'll soon be able to make perfect turns like a pro.

My issue driving is getting used to how quick everything happens and how quick you have to be with your reaction time. I’m a slower driver cause that’s what works for me right now. Once I get better I’ll learn to speed up
Hru now
In my manual it says slow drivers are hazardous that gave me more push to drive the speed limit
I have this same issue while learning. There is so much to focus on at once. Instructors act like we've been driving for years.
Same. @@gabrielle9958
i dont get why some folks are complaining. What shes saying makes sense. as easy as it sounds, turning is a bit harder than it looks , it really does take practice to get used to knowing how much you need to turn. * right turns especially. also , most new drivers ( including myself ) have a tendency to not loosen our grip on the wheel so it can go back to its position.
As a new driver, this has been my biggest hurdle.
I am currently learning to drive and my instructor calls this recovery… I tend to grip to hard.. the instructor called them wooden hands 😂😂😂😂
Thought it was it's just me.
My instructor always gets on me about my “iron grip “ on the steering wheel 😳😂… I’m working on it 🚙

Just turned 16 and I tried driving with my dad for the first time! Did good but I just struggled with turning because it was very weird, but watching this I have much more confidence
That’s the same thing that happened to me today lol
Big facts
Same happens to me yesterday. I'm a beginner driver too and turning my wheel is my struggle 😢
I’m 26 and trying to learn how to drive. So far its felt awful, but I’m trying
It’s never too late to learn, my mom is in her 40s and doesn’t have a driver license ^^ , you got this!
You'll pass your test with ease!!
I'm 26 as well and going for my road test on friday! My mom never really taught me how to drive when I was younger because of my first right hand turn ever in a car didn't go as smooth as it should've. You've got this!!
Same I just failed my test today cause I hit the curb but I’m gonna try again next week 😫
@naymiller4596 you've got this! I passed mine. Then again he just had me go around the block 😅
Thank you for all your videos. It helped me pass my test. I just passed today! I've been watching your videos countless times. Your video on changing lanes made me confident to change lane without any anxiety. You guys are great! God bless you!
if i may ask, how old were u when u passed ur test?
I’m 24 and here I am 🥲 my strict Mexican parents didn’t want to teach me and till this day they don’t want to oh well
Same here which I don’t get bc kids in Mexico be driving already
My friend was the same way, her mom finally let her go to driving school and get her license. She's still very sheltered to this day :c
Man I’m doing good on my driving and speed and stops but I’m still working on my turns and I get nervous when I make a turns and thanks to this video I will have the confidence to turn better 👍🏼
Currently taking driving lessons. I was just excited to get behind the wheel after 7 years…I’ve never had a drivers license but have only practice drove a handful of times. With that said, being excited I realize that my instructor just has me driving and merging and just chilling in the car. He hasn’t taught me how to properly steer he just tells me when to turn. He has me drive out far so it eats up the time I have for my lessons. Hasn’t had me practice parking or anything. All that excitement I’ll be telling him today I want ti get what I paid for I have about 6 lessons I paid for and so far these past 2 are not it. He insists me for my next lesson to drive on the freeway but how can I do that when I haven’t drove on the road in years. Do I sound unreasonable to tell him if actually like lessons and practice “driving miss Daisy”. I really want to learn the basics as I have a child now so that is my reason for wanting to drive now as before I didn’t need to I worked from home and everything is literally down the street 2-3 minute walk. I watch these videos and try implementing them as I’ve drove both sessions for 2 hours at a time. To me, this helps but also made me realize my instructor; to me has not been instructing.
You SHOULD insist that he teach you instead of just sitting there. He's not doing his job
That's a bad instructor. An instructor is suppose to teach you, not put you in situations where you're uncomfortable and feel unsafe.
Thank you for making driving tutorial videos as I am taking my driving permit in Fall of 2023
I’m learning how to turn because I failed my driver test and he told me I need to learn how to work on my turning and I want to learn how to turn
This will help me a lot, so far the only problems I've had with driving is braking, turning, and nervousness
Just a lot of practice and ill be good to go :)
This helps a lot more than my parents screaming at me stressing me out
I just got my learners a few days ago and while deiving out of town on mostly empty dirt roads i thought i was so good but today i finally tried in town and realized how shitty i am at turning lol but this kinda helped i understand it more
Just practiced driving today my turns we're terrible i turn the wheel way to much but I'm not giving up thanks for the video
I always go too far💀 I'm basically in the left lane after turning
@@athenasimp9928 same lol
@@darkstar1348Same problem so we turned like 20 times to help improve. Now I'm teaching my sister to drive.
I thought its just me doing this
me too 😭 i struggle sm
My grandma is teaching me how to drive I drove on the highway 🛣️ for the first time today and I don’t understand why parents won’t teach their kids/teens how to drive you gotta learn how to drive because when you are all grown up you want to be independent and drive on your own
Very important to learn to drive and if it’s by someone who has the patience to teach you even better. Good for you.
Yea my dad doesn't want to teach me and doesn't want me going to college.
Yup my parents never wanted to teach me so now I’m 27 and struggling to learn.. :/
You are 💯 Driving is a life skill.
Some parents are too busy & some teens just dont want to drive. Maybe some families cant afford cars.
THANK YOU! PASSED TODAY FIRST TIME! Your videos have been super helpful 😁 I shall keep watching.
How many times did you practice before taking it?
Great job on this ❤
Taking mine in June love your videos
Thank you 🙏🏻
Excellent tutorial. Thank you!
Thank you , it’s really helpful 👍🏻
im 28 and getting a car soon and i cannot drive im afraid of the road 😭
Update meeee 😂
I'm 25 and just started driving less than 2 months ago. I started driving through my neighborhood late at night when no ones out to get comfortable with the car. I did that almost every night for a month and now finally I'm driving on main streets (again only late at night lol) but it's getting much easier. I thought I'd never drive. Baby steps 🩷
You and me both.
This really helps 😊 thank you
I’m older and I have nervous issues because I failed to consistently practice and no one is helping me and I have to pay for driving instruction so I can get a license 😔🙏🏾
God bless you! Don’t feel discouraged. I’m 26 and barely got my permit. I had a lot of anxiety and now I set up my drivers test for October. I used to put myself down because I was older than my cousins and they all got a license 😅 but who cares. Nobody wants to teach us anyway. God’s got us 🙏❤️ we will persevere!!!
Same here. I'm determined to do this. It's been on my to-do list far too long.
Can’t wait to get mine !!!
I wish I could drive but I my parents won’t teach me ❤
Same 🙄 what’s with parents not teaching their children to drive??
@@jooly_garxia same
Driving school
Take drivers Ed in high school or pay a driving instructor they have driving schools for this and they not expensive… you don’t need them you got this
Or just do what a buddy of mine did buy a car with taxes or college refund check & teach yourself with CZcams & practice
Helps a lot I’m going for my license in June 😁
Same here, good luck 🍀
Same here , June 6 tomorrow is my test, good luck, we’ll all do great🥰🍀

This vedio is really going to help me to be a batter driver
This actually helped me so much'\
so if I was turning i have to slightly let go of the brakes while turning the wheel right ?
Very helpful video
Nice driving instructor thanks
You're welcome ☺️
thank you..
gorgeous audi😊
this is helpful fo rme
Thank you for sharing ❤
My instructor taught us 9 to 3 on the steering wheel but my step dad keeps yelling at me to keep my hands on 10 to 2. Driving like that is uncomfortable and gives me anxiety so I’ve been messing up.
Edit: And the position he’s been telling me to put my hands seems more like a 11 to 1 position.
Listen to that driver instructor love. You can start gradually getting to that other position your step dad advising once YOU are more comfortable with driving. I’m sure he’s stating that because he’s been driving already so the feel is natural to him. Once you become more comfortable I think your body will naturally adjust and relax to the point you won’t even realize you holding it from a 9-3 to a 10-2 .. just like him. At the end of that day, he needs to be patient & understanding of what works and is comfortable for you. You got this ❤️
The SECRET is TAKING YOUR TIME while giving yourself leverage…your foot is slightly on the gas. NO MATTER THE TURN You control the car.
Thanks…!!!!
You're welcome!
Dang,;this lesson wasn't bad at all! Nice guitar Gov!
Are we allowed to slide the wheel when exiting turn?
Make a prefect turn
Yes i agree
Yes i agree
😂
Great video but Crossing hands is not allowed in UAE driving test.
This is a really good video but the crossing over with steering seems to be more uncontrolled than the push and pull method if steering.
Thanks for this awesome clip!❤ I failed twice 😢 will try again soon!
You can do it!
@@DrivingTV1111 thanks I needed the encouragement!
Did you pass?
@@survivorfanatic3831 No I didn't go back yet!
@@daisysingh4659 hurry up, it can’t be that hard
Told us not to be listening to the radio while driving but your listening to Michael Jackson lol made me happy to see someone listening to the king 👑
It’s four times of me driving it’s very easy just use the side mirrors especially the side mirror where cars overtake from as you focus on the front u will feel superior
this was the last video i watched before going in and i passed
Which audi model is this
16 here, I’m good at evreything except for tight turns lol
I'm very good at driving its just i needed to signal earlier, and the drivers on the road is terrible because they cannot drive.
It makes me feel better with all the older people in the comments, I'm 17 and i already feel so behind
Well explained
How to move straring wheel
ty
Couldn't be clearer.👍
what's the proper speed for turning
10 mph.
This is a great question. I turn very slowly, and a car was speeding down a very narrow road and I thought I was going to have a catastrophic event yesterday. God was seriously protecting me.
Just need my own vehicle
Thanks alot. But turning on my right and left when going off the road is giving me geadache
Soon I will take my driver's test.. I am so nervous
The rear mirror blur is very annoying.
fr sometimes it’s not blurred and shows the face then half way through it blurs it like dawg we saw their face already
Guess who cant steer! Me!
😂 I can steer...as long as I don't have to turn.
Good to know that there are a lot of people in this comment section who can drive but can't drive properly....like me. We shall overcome buds.
I’ll be 30 next year in January almost there 😅
😊
Long viacle
tbh for any new drivers turning is probably the easiest thing you can do while driving, hell I can turn with my pinkie finger nail. basically all you have to do is remain in your lane, or wait for the other vehicle to clear the other lane if you're uncomfortable. the key is focusing on the front of your car while you execute the turn. as long as you watch that and learn the turn radius of your vehicle you'll be fine. This video over complicates things by at least 3000% and I have been driving now for almost a decade (2016) and fixing to start the police academy i hope i can teach others a way better than this. remember newer cars only get easier to turn and yes I promise once yall get better you will be turning with your pinkie nail as well. but if this helps you thats good as well. (if you start with an suv as your learner car like me you'll pretty much know how to drive any car or truck)
Honestly isn’t as easy as you make it seem. The mechanic of turning is easy but gauging how much you need to turn at a given time is not😭
Turning is the hardest for most new drivers on this page myself included.
Nope. Most new drivers, including me, struggle with this. Two biggest issues...when to start the turn...and recovering the wheel.
I have my test in 7 hours, it sucks cause since I got my permit, I’ve been driving how ever I felt comfortable and still haven’t turned with 10/2 or 9/3 I’m afraid that is what’s gonna make me fail
How did it go bro
Is this 105? Technically 😅 I am confused due to lack of numbers after 104. I can watch all but for some reason I need to know order.
I want to see how learn to drivea car
😎
👍
Anyone here just learning how to drive I want all ya'll to know that you got this just stay focused and stay in your lane.
2:00 never turn your car like this. If you hit something and the airbag goes off, it will break your arm and possibly injure your face
I'm 65 🙏 👋😇
9 and 3?? What I know of is direction 2 and 10.
They won't now my uncle tried to teach me on the highway and I cranked the vehicle up and when I started out the road I was squealing tires.
nice tutorial! your accent sounds foreign, are you perhaps German?
Oh to let go of the steering wheel hmmm interesting 🤔🧐
I wish to learn to but my hussy not learn me
this could have been a 2-minute video but the speaker loves the sound of her own voice. don’t u just hate it when they don’t go straight to the point. lol.
4:09 nice censoring job. idk why people can't just censor things fully. what's the point of that?
If anyone wants to see his face it’s at 4:20 😂
Ikr 😂😂 so stupid how they cover his face . Like tf?? He’s still exposed anyways 🤷🏻♀️
Here😂
My instructor insists I do 10 & 2
isn’t letting the wheel slide in your hand an instant fail on a drivers test?
I fucking hate how drawn out people make simple things. Should be a two minute video
I’m 😂😂😂😂
Or just buy a steering knob 🎉
I love driving, but reverse is my problem
My friend taught me saying when you reverse, if you turn the wheel to the right, you will go to the left, turn the wheels to the left, you will go right. 🤷♀️ he was teaching me the ways of driving a golf cart around at work since I don't have a license yet and wasn't comfortable with reversing at all. Once you get the hang of which way the wheels are and which way you'll go, it'll be muscle memory.
To reverse the way you turn the wheel is the way the way the rear will go, for example turning the wheel to the right will make the rear go to right and vice Versa.
@Srathy see that makes more sense lol. Idk where my friend got that but meh, I still don't like reversing. 🤣
I just noticed that after turning the steering wheel, you just let it slide back through your fingers. I did that once and my driving instructor told me not to do that because if I do it, i will fail the test immediately. I live in Italy and here are super strict with the way we move our hands 😪
I am a driving instructor in the Commonwealth of VA. The very first instruction you give is incorrect. A student should learn to hold their hands at the8 and 4 positions, not 9 and 3 They would fail their DMV test if they followed your instruction there
It’s 10 & 2 in New York so obviously to each is own
