    Haha I should have watched this before I started them. My first hare scramble last year I pulled off after second lap... Literally went back to the truck and collapsed on the grass, and everything was spinning lol. Keep at it and you'll move up the classes and progress a lot as a rider!

      @Tankerman Před 3 lety +1

      @@caseymurphy2648 Check LACC facebook page out and find a race closest to you. Reason is youre going to be dead tired just from the nerves that you wont feel like a long drive afterwards haha. Pick your age group and race beginner. I am 54 so I race the 40+ beginner. When you go to race make a checklist because you will forget the smallest thing. When you race dont go and expect to compete against others instead go with a goal of finishing. One lap puts you on the board then go for lap two and so on. You will run across some sandbaggers who should be racing in other classes and it will make you feel like you arent good enough to race but dont let your mind go there, just race your race. My race video will show I was being lapped by everyone almost and I was breathing as if I was having a child, be prepared because that will probably be you too haha. But even at my slow pace and all I still wasnt last and there was a lot who DNF which means did not finish. I ride Claiborne a lot so if you wanna talk in person and ride hit me up. Stay safe

Hopefully I can get the memberships/paperwork figured out and get out there. Seems there’s no serious bike requirements? FWIW I currently am on a 2004 KDX200. @@gsxrstyle great to hear! I’ve been leaning towards the 250 because of feedback from people like you saying 300 wears them out too much. One thing tad worried about is the tractor like chug up a hill or easy torque to pop a wheel up and get over a log, but I assume with a little practice the 250 will be able to do it just as well. Flip side is others say 250 is tad more nimble and flowy. Way Easier to ride after 1-2 hours. I think 250 it is!

      @worldwide1873 personally for the hare scrambles I loved my 150 it felt like riding a mt bike and didn't tire me out nearly as much as let's say my 250 four stroke . I understand it's a bit underpowered for most ppl .but I assure the 250 is very capable and snappy to pop over obstacles. my buddy went from a 250 to a 300 and he went back to a 250 and loves it and is doing great . he said for what we do it's more power then he needs and yes fighting all the power for long period of time really wears you out in a race and forget about it if you drop the bike and have to pick it up lol. that will suck the soul right out of you. alot of ppl race the 300 but you really can't even use it to it's capability atleast here in the North east racing netra or p27 etc. if I had it my way I'd go to 125 if I started racing again lol. I had the most fun on the smaller bore and felt I did the best. I know everyone is different along with perspective. but you really can't go wrong with the 250

    Ben. Old video. But good video. I think you should do another video talking about seat pressure and traction. Pretty normal for every newer rider to hold the bike on the limiter while pushing/walking, blowing massive rust. Folks….sit down!!!! Get some weight on that rear tire. If you’re caught in a deep rut, at least put a knee on the seat. You have got to weight the rear tire to get traction. It’s never more important than when stuck. And it’s never more abused than when stuck.

      Honestly the most important training is just seat time I used to think because I was fit from lifting weights I'd be good at hare scrambles I felt like my stamina would be on Par. Man was I wrong ..the fact is nothing can substitute for seat time your body just conditions for riding for long periods of time with no breaks try riding for 1.5 hrs with little to no breaks and riding through arm pump safely to build stamina. It wouldn't hurt to hit the treadmill or elliptical at the gym to help but like I said nothing can sub for seat time the reason I know this is because my 1st 2 yrs of racing I was pretty jacked and what I thought in shape even did alot of cardio but I was still getting my arss handed to me but scrawny kids and females 😅. The difference between them and me they had seat time muscle memory stamina from yr after yr of them racing and riding .last yr was my best race yr even though I'm way out of shape I gained a belly and lost muscle from not going to the gym because of my own silly depression. I had the most racing stamina I've ever had my body was just used to the 1.5 hrs of brute netra had to offer .but now I've got bummed up to B class I will have to add another 30 min to my race times .hopes this helps I plan on making a video about what foods to eat before races and things to do to help with arm pump soon
