Hello everyone and welcome to another Eldritch Realms Dev Diary! Today, we're taking a look at a lot of pictures and some behind-the-scenes evolution of a bunch of designs for the upcoming DLC, ranging from clever uses of terrain to just how unholy the Eldritch Sovereign really could have been (miss me with that centipede demon shite at 1:45). What really caught my eye was perhaps a glimpse in to future content at 10:47 when they discuss the potential of expanding the Dwelling mechanic. Independent Dwellings (Naga, Giants, Fey, Dragons) were a thing that I really enjoyed in Age of Wonders 3, and I'd love to see them brought and perhaps expanded upon (recruitable Heroes?👀) in Age of Wonders 4 -- thanks for watching!

I love these art diaries, they're such an interesting look into the development process of the game. Thanks for going through it Fable!
Also, those dwellings could be really awesome! I really hope we get more dwelling types, they could seriously spice up the game, especially when mixed in with different world forms such as the undead desert I played recently, or a more wild, untamed forest type.
Believe the dwellings in AoW3 had preferred climates they would spawn in; Fae in temperate, Undead in blighted, Dragons in volcanic, Giants in arctic, Naga in tropical, & Merfolk in seas/oceans. So if you didn't want a specific one to spawn you had to turn off that climate in map settings.
5:00 funnily enough it was cracked in official AoW4 discord just before of ER announcement - someone was interested in runes that were on parchment of magic materials and ancient wonders and he decoded it!

Would be cool if they had a layer for each affinity and could have some of the dwellings attached to that.
Eyeball with wings reminded me of Quidditch from Harry Potter.
Also I thing I might have seen Flying Eyeballs somewhere.

One thing id like to see is a more "fetus" style. Cuz making what is basically and Atropal would be fun and thematic

AOW4 Is a masterpiece of 4X. Since it's almost my favourite game currently, I'm very sad to prefere Pillars of Eternity II in turn base mode, regarding tactical combat, since AOE4 lacks in: initiative sistem, sustained spells, and deepness regarding buffs and debuffs. :( I love this game. It makes me sad.

You hope for Staff to have a summon, I hope for ability to take control of enemy unit.
Lets hope Staff has interesting summon, or lets you turn enemy units into your units

I'm making a Demon from Hell and an Angel from Heaven for my first 2 Sovereigns. Also is your background music your using from Fire Emblem? It really sounds like it
EDIT: Age of Wonders 3 Dwellings had some really strong stuff you could get like Baby Krakens that can become adults (if i remember right they could go on land) when leveled enough and a few different types of giants. Trying to remember if there were dragon dwellings (it has been a while) and yes, Archons are a Dwelling in AoW 3
