That Jewish guy looks very sweet, humble, and like any other guy of his age that just wants to enjoy himself with his friends. Also, he has been very generous and kind in guiding the CZcamsr through the area, congratulations to his parents for how did they raise him. It´s a pity how overprotective people are in their community, sometimes unnecessarily - as when they were kicked at the butchery.
It's funny as an Englishman with a kid now. I swear all of the youth have this same affected London accent. I was expecting him to sound Geordie but it's this cultural thing as much as regional now. Fair shout

P.S not Jewish myself but have met Orthodox Jews at my uni in the summer where they have a yearly conference. They are shy but will talk to you if you make the effort. They speak with a slight accent though (yiddish or Hebrew ). I have also met them at a nature reserve near my home. Families arrived in minibuses in the evening. I had a chat and they said they came in evening as the kids got self conscious at people staring. I don't think it is ostracism but curiosity at the 19th Century style of dress. I've worked all over the world though and love meeting people of different cultures. What is that Bamba stuff?
I have to say that you are very sociable and approachable but it's good that you made the video because i feel like the jews of gateshead are not as sociable because they dont talk to anyone or smile at anyone so I would never think to say hello to them but you seem a little more chill lol. Well I wouldn't consider myself a Gateshead Jew, it's merely a coincidence that I am a Jew from Israel that happened to rent a place in Gateshead of all places. I was looking for apartments all around the toon and it turned out cheap there. Glad you got value out of the video :)
They generally keep to themselves but they are a lovely community. We had neighbours either side of our house and my son would often pop in to help them out when they couldn't do it for themselves.

A priest is not a rabbi in Judaism but I can understand why salukie would make that comparison colloquially. A rabbi is a teacher and a priest will mostly have the surname Cohen but their role has been minimised by the lack of a Jewish temple for the past 2000 years
A rabbi is a (religious) teacher in Judaism so there is a bit of a distinction. It's just in Christianity there's no real distinction between a priest and a vicar for example although a priest could also be a bishop
I thought that only London and Manchester have a Jewish districts! It's a huge revelation to me that Newcastle area has a wonderful Jewish community quarters as well!!
@@whitemailprivilege2830 Its a matter of a week or two, but in any case I will probably be making about $30 a month. I reckon in a few years I'll be making enough to do CZcams full time :)
A nice insight into the Jewish Community of Gateshead. I've lived in Gateshead all my life and the Jews are peaceful people. Although, from the outside, they seem to be only concerned with themselves and not the people around them such as the Christians, Atheists etc. But I still get funny looks when I'm walking down their streets which doesn't concern me but it's a very awkward look and feeling they gave me but they're doing no harm and nether am I.
@@pauliewalnuts6734 they don't "act" like anything u knobhead. u don't even know what they're thinking when and if they're looking at u. didnt know u could read minds.
In any religious Jewish community it's very hard to get anything videoed because people have had bad experiences with those documentaries against Jews so obviously they get very scared.
Where is the snow? How come Newcastle has had snow for the past week, maybe you filmed this before then. Don't the Jewish in Gateshead have some sort of street festival, I'm sure I seen a video about that on YT
Maybe, I dont reckon it would go on during the lockdown anyway. My videos are always a few weeks behind as CZcams is not my job so I film when I have the time. The Iraqi Kurdistan series, for example, was all filmed within two weeks.
It really upsets me to see Jewish people fleeing the uk out of a fear of antisemitic abuse. In London there is a place called Edgware where a large population of Jews and Muslims live side by side, and it’s not just these two religious groups, many Indians and Pakistanis live there too in peace. People talk about cultural differences all the time but this one place inspires me so much as it shows how at the end of the day we can live and work together in peace. ✌️✌️✌️

A rabbi is a (religious) teacher in Judaism so there is a bit of a distinction. It's just in Christianity there's no real distinction between a priest and a vicar for example although a priest could also be a bishop
I am Jewish and could never find anywhere open in Gaateshead, please tell me where
nice video
love isreal from arab atheist in kuwait
Thank you, love yous back
Strangely enough in my little tiny rural Canadian grocery store that hardly has anything international…I came across Bamba ❤😊 I was shocked!
I thought that only London and Manchester have a Jewish districts! It's a huge revelation to me that Newcastle area has a wonderful Jewish community quarters as well!!
Surprise surprise 😂
Really amazing!
Not Newcastle, Gateshead does.
Has David got his own CZcams channel
No, I would have posted it if he did
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching:)
Is your CZcams account monitized
Nope
@@theSalukie hopefully soon

Its a matter of a week or two, but in any case I will probably be making about $30 a month.
Thanks for the insightful comment
Acting like they own the place of which they are not indigenous. Sounds like everywhere they go.
@@pauliewalnuts6734 they don't "act" like anything u knobhead. u don't even know what they're thinking when and if they're looking at u. didnt know u could read minds.

Yeah quite a few accents were on display in this video, I liked it
@@theSalukie oh yes me also man
Very interesting video.
Thank you!
Wow David is such a nice one!
In any religious Jewish community it's very hard to get anything videoed because people have had bad experiences with those documentaries against Jews so obviously they get very scared.
Why did he tell you to edit out that priest comment?
"This is my Jewish house" lol
Nice to discover new unknown parts of the north east
Glad you enjoyed the vicarious journey :)

Without the openness of people being willing to be interviewed these videos won't be.
I love Edgeware,So many arabs ,Jews, chilling and working doing-just not a fan of the shisha places lol
@@omirlee3908 it’s not just them, there are many Muslim Pakistanis and Hindu Indians and Punjabi Sikhs that reside there too, completely harmoniously

I suppose not

David's from Gateshead & sounds more southern than someone from Birmingham 🤔 but I do think his accent is authentic
Yeah, I'm pretty certain his accent is authentic because most the Jews there sound like that
Birmingham is in the midlands, not the south.
@@elizaveta9571 No one said that or even asked
@@jamieluciana3754 You said he sounds more southern than someone from Birmingham, Brummies don’t sound southern.
@@elizaveta9571 First of all, it’s not my fault you didn’t understand what I said and secondly, a Brummie accent sounds very southern to a lot of people far North.
How come David has a London accent?
I actually asked him that in the video, watch the whole thing :)

Permit me to point out that a Rabbi is a teacher rather than a priest (unless his name is Cohen). The priestly caste, descended from Aaron, the bother of Moses, are the Cohens or Kohanim
