Phantom SPEED Racer TWRP Protomen AMV

- I know the song was inspired by the 80s film "The Wraith" but I know for many listeners (including me), the song invoked imagery from the 60s anime "SPEED RACER". So I couldn't help but making this AMV. (I also could not just kill off Speed.)
The "Phantom Racer" logo is from a Washington State punk band of the same name.

What's this?! A mystery car has just entered the race and he's coming from behind like a bullet!

I can’t believe what I’m seeing! In a shocking turn of events the mystery car seems to be picking off each racer one by one. I wouldn’t want to be out on that track tonight. This driver is out for blood.

We’re down to just two cars now! Like a man possessed he’s murdered every other racer and seems to be zeroing in on first place! The remaining car is speeding down this straight away like he’s being chased by the devil himself. In an incredible burst of speed the mystery driver has rammed the first place car from behind and seems to be pushing him forward! The lead racer is clearly slamming on the brakes, but the two of them show no signs of slowing down at all! There’s no way they can make this next turn in time, I can’t bare to watch!
Out of the flames comes the mystery driver. I don’t know how he survived that horrible crash, or where he’s going to next, but I can’t help thinking there’s something strangely familiar about that car…

When I started to listen to the lyrics, I kept thinking about Racer X from Speed Racer. You nailed it

@@TibJib9608 Yeah! I've always believed the Blues/Protoman was inspired by Fukamen Racer/Racer X as well. It's quite possible since Mega Man was highly influenced by "Casshern" which was another Tatsunoko series.

Whoa, what was that futuristic-looking Speed Racer near the end? I don't remember ever hearing about anything like that, looks like a mid 80s or 90s reboot of some kind.
Yep! That's footage from the 1997 reboot series "Mach Go Go Go RESTART" in the states known at first as "Speed Racer Y2K" and then "Speed Racer X".

I knew it made me feel like either Speed Racer or Redline, but it mainly inspired me to go watch Speed Racer for a bit and introduce my son to it.

From watching through all of SPEED RACER again to discovering new racing movies and anime and even the real auto-sport I'm loving it all. Again... As someone who has never seen Speed Racer, I'm likely the odd one out in this crowd, as I thought this was either based on F-zero or it was an original ghost story turned song. Now that I know the actual Inspiration is a film called the wraith, I'm curious but scared to see how that movie goes.
On an unrelated note, this was a pretty dang good compilation you did here, almost like the song belongs here
Thank you very much! From what little I have seen of the Wraith, it's not exactly one-to-one since the races in the film are street races instead of track races. I'll probably watch it on Oct. 31st.
There actually is an "F-Zero" version of this song though.

@@SonicPAJ Nah nah. Old 2012 Hyundai Elantra. Though does have one of those semi manual shifts?
Automatic transmission, but can put it into drive, push the stick to the right, and up and down shift from there manually.
No clutch to work or anything.

Yeah, that episode actually had a phantom racer in it... I would've included a bit of "Mach Girl" which also featured a phantom racer as well but I decided against it.
